Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan glanced at the little one beside her and whispered, ”The condition of living apart for two years has long been met, and I’ll soon file an application directly with the court.”

”Then you try and see which lawyer dares to take your case.” Gu Jizhou laughed coldly, about to hang up the phone but then he thought of the Dragon Boat Festival and spoke in a muffled tone, ”If you want me to sign the divorce agreement, don’t go anywhere on Dragon Boat Festival. Wait for me to pick you up.”

Che Huan frowned, ”Is the civil affairs bureau open that day?”

Gu Jizhou’s voice was cold to the bone, ”It’s just signing.”

”Okay,” Che Huan responded and hung up the phone directly.

The little one sat beside her, listening intently, not quite understanding, but he caught key words like agreement, civil affairs bureau, signing, and Dragon Boat Festival. He planned to ask his little uncle about it tomorrow—his little uncle should know.

Qiao Qiao glanced at Che Huan, ”It’s getting late; I’ll go back to rest.”

Che Huan responded, ”Then I won’t see you out.”

The little one stood up and, like a little master, sent Qiao Qiao off. He quickly closed the door and happily went to wash up and sleep with Che Huan...

The next morning, after washing up and having breakfast, the little one looked at Che Huan with concern, ”Huanhuan, I’ve asked for a week off for you, so you can rest at home. You don’t have to go to work these days, okay?”

Che Huan couldn’t help but laugh, touching the little one’s head, ”Actually, Huanhuan is not a nurse. That day, I was just covering for Auntie Qiao Qiao at work.”

Is that so?

The little one fiddled with his chopsticks, ”Huanhuan, then what is your job?”

Speaking of work, Che Huan gave a wry smile ”Huanhuan doesn’t have a job right now; I’m unemployed at home.”

No job?

Could he, perhaps, introduce a job to Huanhuan and score some brownie points?

Che Huan pinched the little one’s chubby cheeks and sent him downstairs.

When the agreed time came, and Uncle Lu’s car was nowhere to be seen, the little one stood there making a phone call, ”Why haven’t you come over yet?”

Uncle Lu glanced at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan took the phone and said in a low voice, ”Aren’t you not coming back? From now on, Uncle Lu has no obligation to pick you up.”

The little one humphed defiantly and hung up the phone with determination.

Huo Jinnan handed the phone back to Uncle Lu, ”Was someone following your car earlier?”

”Yes, sir.”

Uncle Lu suspected it was the young master of the family, but it was not appropriate to comment.

The relationship between Miss Che and the young master, and the master himself, was really too complex; up till now, he still hadn’t figured out what was going on.

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, thinking that Gu Jizhou had also had someone follow him these past few days, ”Did you remember the license plate number?”

Uncle Lu thought carefully, ”The license plate was covered up; they didn’t dare to get too close, just followed from a distance, it was unclear.”

”Continue as usual to the kindergarten, pick up and drop off the young master on time,” Huo Jinnan said, then raised his eyes to glance at Uncle Lu, ”Your girlfriend...”

At this, Uncle Lu, remembering the situation that night, couldn’t help but blush and glanced at Huo Bei standing to the side.

Wasn’t the master just teasing him on purpose?

So, the young master had already mentioned it to the master—probably to test him, right?

Huo Bei, assuming Uncle Lu was embarrassed about having a girlfriend at his age, tried to help him out and looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Master, I’ll go ready the car.”

Huo Jinnan let out a soft ”Hmm” and only when Huo Bei left did he turn back to Uncle Lu, ”They didn’t dare to follow closely. You just continue to pick up and drop off as scheduled every day. As for Huo Minhan, whether he wants to come back or not is up to him.”
