Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”Yes, Madam,” the butler Liu responded, leaving the private room.

Huo Jinyun sat there, looking down at Che Huan with a superior air.

After waiting for a long time and seeing that she didn’t speak, Che Huan bit her lip, ”May I know what matter Lady Gu has called me here for?”

Huo Jinyun’s gaze measured Che Huan’s stomach, ”Playing the empress dowager card, are you? Using the child to control the nobles?”

Che Huan didn’t understand and frowned at Huo Jinyun.

Looking down at Che Huan from above, Huo Jinyun spoke resentfully, ”Since you’re pregnant, get rid of the child. Even if it carries the Gu Family’s blood, it’s no use. Five years ago, I didn’t accept you as a daughter-in-law, and five years later, I still can’t accept you!”

Pregnant?

Che Huan laughed at herself mockingly, ”Lady Gu is thinking too much. I’ve already signed the divorce agreement, you might as well have him sign it soon.”

Unexpectedly defied by Che Huan’s words, Huo Jinyun’s face changed abruptly, her eyes fiercely fixed on Che Huan as she suddenly stood up and raised her hand to slap Che Huan’s face.

”Slap—”

A crisp slap rang out, and a bloody handprint appeared on Che Huan’s face.

She didn’t make a sound, standing there and looking at Huo Jinyun, her chest heaving with intense emotion, ”Lady Gu, please respect yourself!”

Huo Jinyun stared at Che Huan aggressively, ”Respect myself? If you had any respect, you wouldn’t have climbed into Jizhou’s bed five years ago and married into the Gu Family using the child as leverage.”

Che Huan smiled faintly, ”Lady Gu, you are mistaken, it wasn’t Gu Jizhou that night, nor is the child his. If it weren’t for your son insisting it was him, I wouldn’t have married a man like him for the sake of the child!”

Huo Jinyun stared at Che Huan, incredulous, ”What did you say?”

Che Huan frowned at Huo Jinyun, ”Because you are an elder, I’ll let this slap go. But if you do the same in the future, I’ll have to return the favor!”

Huo Jinyun, furious, raised her hand again to fiercely slap Che Huan’s face.

Che Huan grabbed her wrist and pushed her aside, ”I am not pregnant, and even if I were, it couldn’t possibly be Gu Jizhou’s child!”

Huo Jinyun stood there, trembling with rage at Che Huan’s current stance.

What did her words mean?

Not yet divorced, and already carrying on with another man?

Che Huan cast a glance at Huo Jinyun and walked out the door.

The butler entered the room upon seeing Che Huan leave and looked at Huo Jinyun, ”Madam.”

Huo Jinyun stood there, taking several deep breaths before speaking with difficulty, ”Go investigate if Che Huan is really pregnant, and also, which man she is currently seeing.”

Che Huan returned to her residence, stepped out of the elevator, and smelled a strong scent of tobacco. Looking up, she saw Gu Jizhou standing there, smoking.

Gu Jizhou saw Che Huan but remained silent, watching her.

As Che Huan turned to leave, Gu Jizhou suddenly grasped her arm, ”Do you really insist on divorcing?”

Che Huan remained silent.

Gu Jizhou let her go and suddenly pushed her against the wall, leaning over her.

Just as he was about to kiss her, Che Huan gathered all the strength she had and returned the slap she had received from Huo Jinyun earlier to Gu Jizhou’s face.

”Slap”—a sound rang out.

Gu Jizhou’s handsome face turned to one side from the blow.

Che Huan’s hand trembled as she withdrew it, looking at Gu Jizhou’s slowly darkening expression, ”Don’t let your mother come looking for me again in the future, and don’t let her lay hands on me as she pleases. I’m returning this slap to you!”
