Daddy Always Gets Jealous

As soon as the words fell, he turned and left.

Gu Jizhou struggled to get up, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and chased after him.

The door to the villa had already slammed shut!

Gu Jizhou rang the doorbell persistently, kicked the door with his foot, and pounded on it with his fists, but there was no response from inside. The door remained firmly closed as if there was no one inside at all.

He vented his frustration, kicking the door repeatedly, unaware that he had ruined his leather shoes.

Upstairs, Zhao Wu looked at Qin Shaojin, ”Third Master, Gu Jizhou is still outside.”

Qin Shaojin smiled elegantly, ”Let him enjoy himself out there.”

Zhao Wu glanced in the direction of the study, ”Miss Che is still waiting for the Third Master in the study.”

Thinking of Huo Jinnan being in the study, Qin Shaojin said, ”It’s fine, you go on with your business.”

Zhao Wu went downstairs and into his room to play video games.

Qin Shaojin entered the bedroom and stood on the balcony, holding a pair of binoculars, carefully observing Gu Jizhou’s expression. The smile on his lips grew thicker.

Some debts had to be collected one by one and paid back double!

Did he really think some things could be left in the past?

Fearing Brother Huo would be angry with him for taking liberties, he sent a text, ”Brother Huo, I’m sorry.”

In the study, Huo Jinnan received the text, glanced at it, and then lifted his head to sweep a look over Che Huan.

Che Huan, ”...”

She was surprised to see him upon entering and merely greeted him. At that moment, she was compelled to ask, ”Why hasn’t Lawyer Qin returned yet?”

Huo Jinnan took a drag of his cigarette and spoke softly, ”He had to go out suddenly and won’t necessarily be back anytime soon.”

After saying this, he responded to Qin Shaojin with a text, ”Do not let similar things happen again in the future.”

Qin Shaojin quickly replied, ”Brother Huo, I understand.”

He had really found Gu Jizhou distasteful today. Did he think he could uncover something by following him like a dog?

Then he let Che Huan enter his apartment right under Gu Jizhou’s nose!

Huo Jinnan received the text, glanced at it, and put away his phone.

Che Huan stood up, ”Then I’ll be leaving first.”

Huo Jinnan scanned in the direction of the balcony, ”Do you think you can leave?”

Che Huan hesitated for a few seconds, then walked onto the balcony. Looking down, she saw Gu Jizhou in disarray and turned back towards Huo Jinnan with a pale face. She returned to her seat, not daring to look at him, her head lowered, her hands nervously twisting her long dress.

Huo Jinnan glanced at her, ”Are you nervous?”

Che Huan looked up, trying to forget the incident from yesterday and the dream she had last night. She forced a smile, ”No.”

Huo Jinnan flicked the ash from his cigarette and stared at the tiny glowing ember, his gaze deep, ”You weren’t this nervous when you said you’d do anything during the game.”

Che Huan glanced at Huo Jinnan, her face flushed red. Back then, she didn’t know he was Gu Jizhou’s uncle, or she would never have done such a thing!

Huo Jinnan stood up, walked over to Che Huan, and with his slender fingers lifting her chin with a cigarette between them.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan. He lowered his gaze, deeply piercing hers with his dark, fathomless eyes, before taking a slow drag of his nearly finished cigarette.

Che Huan bit her lip and stayed silent, taking a step back to keep a distance from him.

Huo Jinnan sat down to the side and crushed his cigarette in the ashtray, ”When you go back, don’t let him touch you.”

Che Huan was startled, and realizing he was referring to ”him,” she turned her head, ”I remember Manager Gu saying that you’re Gu Jizhou’s uncle.”

Huo Jinnan lifted his gaze, his deep eyes fixating on Che Huan, ”So you knew all along.”
