Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan suddenly fell silent, ”...”

With his words, it was as if she was the one with ulterior motives!

Huo Jinnan gazed at Che Huan with deep, intense eyes.

Such a stare was too alarming for her, feeling as if her chest lacked oxygen, she quickly averted her gaze, ”I... I only found out after that day.”

”Which day?” Huo Jinnan’s voice was very low, and even his cadence was tinged with a particular sexiness.

”That day!”

It felt like she couldn’t breathe properly, as if there wasn’t enough oxygen around, requiring her to breathe with great effort.

Huo Jinnan stood up and walked to the balcony, looking down at Gu Jizhou below. With his back to Che Huan, he didn’t make another sound.

Che Huan glanced at the man’s striking back silhouette, wanting to speak but hesitating, not knowing what to say, so she simply stayed silent.

Huo Jinnan took a cigarette box from his pants, pulled out a cigarette with practiced ease, lit it with a lighter, took a drag, then turned to look at Che Huan, leaning casually against the white railing of the balcony, ”Exactly which day? My memory isn’t so good, please be more specific.”

He had a lethal attractiveness about him, creating the illusion that once you’re involved, you can’t ever quit!

Che Huan quickly looked away, her face turning red as she thought of that day, wishing she could just find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

Huo Jinnan exhaled a ring of smoke slowly stepping towards Che Huan. His approach was slow, but each step firmly pressed on her heartbeats.

Fearing his next move, Che Huan hastily stood up.

As Huo Jinnan came within a step of her, she quickly retreated a step back.

Huo Jinnan fixed his gaze on Che Huan, closing in step by step.

Che Huan, panicking, retreated until her back suddenly hit the wall, her hands quickly braced against Huo Jinnan’s chest as she looked up at him.

Huo Jinnan looked down at her, inching closer, the distance between them steadily shrinking.

Up too close, she felt the overwhelming height and size of the man before her, the absolute height difference creating a strong presence and pressure that made it hard to breathe.

Huo Jinnan watched her for a while, then asked in a low voice, ”Why are you not talking?”

Che Huan, ”...”

What could she say?

What could she say! He knew very well which day it was, yet he was doing this on purpose. Why should she present herself for him to insult?

Looking at Huo Jinnan, she spoke firmly, ”Mr. Huo, no matter what, I am currently your nephew’s wife!”

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, ”Is that so?”

He just kept looking down at her.

Che Huan’s breath became rapid as she spoke, trying to dodge him, yet trapped within his encirclement with nowhere to hide, as if his presence was everywhere, and she blurted out in a fluster, ”Mr. Huo, can you please step back from me?”

Huo Jinnan’s gaze locked on Che Huan’s clear, wave-like eyes, ”What are you afraid of?”

”...” Che Huan desperately tried to avoid his gaze, yet she was unable to escape it as if stuck to it.

Huo Jinnan remained silent, his long fingers lifting to gently brush her bangs, grazing by her ear and lingering there. As he looked into those clear eyes that reflected his own image so vividly, his own gaze deepened, turning into a dark vortex seemingly ready to pull her in at any moment.

Che Huan was indignant, staring back at Huo Jinnan, her chest heaving with agitation.

Huo Jinnan watched for a while, his eyes gradually becoming tranquil, then he let go of Che Huan and sat aside to smoke.

Che Huan leaned against the wall, trembling uncontrollably.

After a long while, she regained her breath and looked towards Huo Jinnan, still harboring a stifled anger with nowhere to vent!

He sat there as if nothing had happened, as if the person from moments ago wasn’t him at all!
