Chapter 1374: Chapter 366: Public Opinion Warfare (Part 2)

Ernst emphasized: ”Government departments like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lack professionalism, so your department needs to actively conduct operations in Europe, working as much as possible to manipulate the European public opinion system while clearing East Africa from suspicion.”

”What you’ve done previously in France and Austria-Hungary was quite good. Now, both countries have experienced anti-war protests by the people. The next step is to focus the work on Germany and the United Kingdom.”

”Regarding Germany, you need to maintain balance and control the scale to prevent too much unrest in the German situation. As for the United Kingdom, try to exert as much pressure as possible on the British government.”

Following Ernst’s instructions, East Africa’s intelligence agencies also began the second round of public opinion offensives in Europe.

Through various means and methods, a focus on anti-war, anti-Semitic, and anti-Labor Party efforts was launched in parts of Germany and across the United Kingdom, once again plunging European society into chaos.

In fact, these activities can only be handled by professionals, especially East Africa’s intelligence agencies, as Europe has generally strengthened its control over public opinion to support the war, making anti-war propaganda relatively difficult.

...

Edinburgh.

As the biggest dissenters in the British Empire, the Scots have always held a firm anti-British attitude, and Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, naturally became one of the headquarters for British separatist forces.

After all, besides Ireland, there are quite a few places now looking to gain independence from the United Kingdom, with Scotland and Ireland domestically, and countless overseas colonies having their own inclinations.

And the East Africa National Defense Security Bureau has set up an office in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.

In a hotel in Edinburgh, an East African intelligence group was holding a secret meeting.

”Now, London has suffered a loss once, so they have strengthened the scrutiny of newspapers, radio, and other media, while tightening control over printing houses and workshops.”

”The idiots at the Military Intelligence Six Department aren’t much of a threat, but most of the Jewish-controlled and invested media are concentrated in London, which is a difficulty in our work.”

”Besides the Jewish capital making London’s media afraid to conduct ’impartial and objective’ reporting, they also have many connections within the British government, through collusion between officials and businesses, which greatly affects the work of the London office.”

”So the London office requests that in the Scottish region, we launch anti-war, anti-Semitic, and anti-Labor Party propaganda, while colleagues in Ireland, Wales, and other important British cities will assist us in breaking the Jewish monopoly.”

The owner of the Balderston hotel was explaining the current working conditions in the United Kingdom to his subordinates.

The last time East Africa’s National Defense Security Bureau launched a public opinion offensive in the United Kingdom, it was centered in London, and the sudden strike caught the British government and Jews off guard.

Actually, if the East Africa National Defense Security Bureau only engaged in anti-war and anti-Labor Party propaganda, there wouldn’t have been much of an issue, but touching on anti-Semitic matters triggered a sensitive nerve among the British Jewish groups.

Although the British Jewish groups have not infiltrated government decisions as the Americans have, they still have great influence, due to their penetration into the British government, because no British aristocrat or bureaucrat can resist the allure of money, and Britain, as the world’s financial center, naturally has strong Jewish influence.

Therefore, when the National Defense Security Bureau used London’s news media for its first anti-Semitic propaganda, it quickly alarmed Jewish groups in London.

They suppressed these anti-Semitic remarks through the media network they built in the United Kingdom, while buying off British government personnel to attack anti-Semitic organizations in London.

This made the work of the London office face difficulties, forcing them to shift strategies and initiate a new round of public opinion offensives elsewhere in the United Kingdom, bypassing London.

Members of the Edinburgh intelligence team, Pider, said to Balderston, ”Captain, I suggest using wireless broadcasts and flyers to instigate action in Edinburgh. Simply using newspapers is too slow in efficacy and easily attracts attention from the British government.”

Balderston refuted: ”No, using those two methods won’t be effective quickly. Unlike the Empire, the UK’s electronic product penetration rate is low, with most households not even having radios, greatly limiting the spread.”

”As for distributing flyers, the printing workload is too large, and it can easily leave traces. Moreover, distribution requires many people, otherwise, it won’t be effective.”

”Of course, that’s not the most important thing. The key is that newspapers have ’authority,’ and most people deeply believe what’s written in newspapers, even if many newspapers are full of lies.”

”However, newspapers are least likely to arouse resentment from the British public, compared to flyers and broadcasts. Using local editors and newspapers to publish some information, as long as we don’t reveal too much, is least likely to leave evidence.”

”We don’t have to focus on those big presses, as London’s experience tells us that the larger the press, the more likely it is to be involved with Jews.”

Balderston’s statement is entirely accurate, as Jewish capital investments typically target the bigger fish. They might invest in influential and large-scale newspapers in London or the UK but would certainly not bother with a small news workshop in London’s impoverished areas that can barely operate.
