African Entrepreneurship Record

Chapter 1365: Chapter 363: Stirring Up Trouble (Part 2)

Even, five years is enough to change the trajectory of a nation, just as East Africa’s five-year plan has fully demonstrated, five years is enough to change a nation’s industrial and economic outlook. Two five-year plans, which is ten years, can even turn a relatively backward agricultural country into an emerging industrial power.

Of course, it was the Soviet Union in the previous life that achieved this within two five-year plans, while East Africa took nearly twenty years.

Green continued, ”Looking at it today, the nearly five years of war we’ve endured is nothing but a joke, with massive loss of life and money, yet what we gain is very limited. Even if we truly defeat Germany, we still face competition from the United States and East Africa.”

”Therefore, if the war can be halted in a short time, I support it. If East Africa can successfully persuade various countries, all the better.”

Belton sighed and said, ”You’re right, but the cost of war is indeed too high. However, I don’t think East Africa is key to ending this war. First, get me a newspaper from East Africa.”

Green handed a Rhine Society newspaper over to Belton.

As the external voice for the East African countries, the Rhine Society unprecedentedly published a front-page article about the global situation titled ”1919, Rhine Empire’s Peace Initiative.”

The article lists numerous events in global warfare from 1914 to 1918, marking the first time the ongoing multi-national wars are referred to as a ”world war.”

Compared to the previous life, this time the scope of the first world war was somewhat smaller, but the destructive power was much greater.

The article wrote, ”The direct participating countries in this war are spread across four continents: Europe, Asia, America, and Oceania, including over twenty countries like India and Australia. About one billion people worldwide are directly or indirectly involved in the war.”

”This war, originating in Europe, has evolved into a world war. As time progresses, it still tends to expand further, and the current death toll from this war has already exceeded ten million, with casualty numbers impossible to count...”

”Large regions of Europe have transformed from bustling cities to scenes of devastation, with tens of thousands of war refugees and masses of civilians suffering from famine, disease, and cold.”

”The collapse of order has also led to the rise of terrorism and destructive movements, such as Zionism, internal revolution in Russia, etc. The social order in Russia originally collapsed, and evidence shows that Jewish individuals occupy the majority of high positions in the Russian Labor Party. Also, traces of Jews are evident in the European War; European countries should take this as a caution... East Africa calls on the major participating countries of the Allies and Alliance to put down their hatred, abandon war, and stop this meaningless world war.”

This is the first time since the outbreak of war in 1914 that East Africa has expressed its stance on the war, naturally drawing attention from both sides of the warring countries, and other countries around the world.

However, for East Africa to make such a statement and expect other countries to give East Africa face, it clearly seems to be wishful thinking. If it were the United States in the 21st century, perhaps such a statement might have some effect.

But now, in the early 20th century, there are approximately five to seven countries on par with East Africa in status. The position of the UK, France, Germany, Austria, and the US are relatively stable, whereas Russia and Japan are contentious, with Russia due to internal issues and Japan being somewhat limited in scale, although Japan’s military strength cannot be underestimated. As for the doorman of the powerhouse, Spain virtually has no speaking rights internationally.

Belton frowned as he finished reading the article written by East Africans, remaining silent for a long time.

Mainly because the issues mentioned by the newspaper, if they are objective facts, seem rather terrifying!

Although the war in Europe has been going on for five years, and to some extent, the people of European countries have adapted to the coexistence of war and life.

However, when East Africa evaluates the European war from a third-party perspective, Belton first realizes through simple data the terrifying aspect of this world war.

What concept is one billion people? This is almost equivalent to half the world’s population, of which the United Kingdom and its colonies account for nearly a small half, while Europe as a whole has nearly four hundred million people, and together with the colonies of the United States and France, this is about the same number, with battlefields concentrated throughout Europe and Asia’s Middle East region.

And the casualties exceeding ten million are also chilling. In the early 20th century, few countries had populations exceeding ten million; even pre-war Russia had only a little over one hundred and sixty million.

This number is already a rather conservative estimate. It is feared that Russia’s death toll alone exceeds ten million. Of course, Russia’s situation is complex; aside from the world war, civil war impacts also need consideration, along with natural disasters, corruption, disease, and other issues.

Watching the long silent Belton, Green said, ”Do you feel cold sweat running after reading this newspaper?”

”We’ve always been in the middle of war, so haven’t had the time or rationality to consider these issues, but East Africans have observed this terrible war and evaluated it.”

”Therefore, I now fully agree with what East Africans are saying; it would be best to end the war soon. War truly leads to death, and now the battlefield situation is already very unfavorable for our country. I don’t want to continue surviving in such a harsh environment!”
