Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

Shining Angel, defeated!

But Kira remained perfectly calm about his monster being taken out for free. The shockwave from Malefic Cyber End Dragon, after crushing Shining Angel, didn’t hit Kira directly. Instead, his field activated a milky-white barrier, blocking the blast like a defensive wall.

”Field Spell ’The Sanctuary in the Sky’ effect,” Kira explained. ”All battle damage to me from battles involving Fairy monsters becomes zero.”

Paradox frowned.

So that’s why he was so cocky—he’s relying on the field for immunity.

”But even so, this is a meaningless battle,” he sneered.

He hadn’t finished speaking when Kira smiled, ”No need to rush. I also have the Continuous Spell, ’Fountain in the Sky.’”

The destroyed Shining Angel’s afterimage rose from the fountain, feathers dripping with water. The angel seemed to morph into spirit form, its released energy flowing into Kira.

”Fountain in the Sky: every time a LIGHT monster is destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, I can banish it, and recover Life Points equal to its ATK.

Shining Angel’s ATK is 1400, so I banish it from the graveyard and recover 1400 LP.”

[Kira, LP 7500 → LP 8900]

His LP was getting ridiculous. Paradox kept silent, frowning.

”And then, Shining Angel’s effect,” Kira continued. ”When destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, I can Special Summon a LIGHT monster with 1500 or less ATK from my deck in Attack Position.

I Special Summon a second ’Shining Angel’ from the deck!”

A beam of light shot from his deck, forming the pure image of another holy angel—white robes, halos, and wings, like a classic mythological angel.

[Shining Angel, ATK 1400]

”Monsters Special Summoned during the Battle Phase can still attack.

Shining Angel No. 2, attack Malefic Cyber End Dragon!” Kira ordered.

End Dragon spewed another blast of black lightning, and the second Shining Angel was also shattered.

Paradox thought he understood:

”So he’s using a chain of floating effects to farm LP?”

Shining Angel’s destruction summons another; Sanctuary in the Sky nullifies damage; Fountain in the Sky heals.

It was a powerful combo. But…

Paradox scoffed inwardly.

Fine, heal all you want. Against my Malefics, a little extra LP won’t matter.

The second Shining Angel was destroyed, and Kira healed another 1400 LP.

[Kira, LP 8900 → LP 10300]

”Special Summon a third Shining Angel,” Kira declared. ”Attack again!”

Another kamikaze run, another loop: angel destroyed, Sanctuary blocks damage, Fountain heals.

[Kira, LP 10300 → LP 11700]

Paradox narrowed his eyes.

But now all three Shining Angels are used up. Let’s see what else you have.

”Special Summon ’Nova Summoner!’” Kira said.

[Nova Summoner, ATK 1400]

”Nova Summoner, attack Malefic Cyber End Dragon!”

Paradox: ”?”

Again?

End Dragon unleashed another dark blast, destroying the Nova as well.

”Fountain in the Sky: recover 1400 LP.”

[Kira, LP 11700 → LP 13100]

”Nova’s effect: when destroyed by battle, Special Summon a LIGHT Fairy with 1500 or less ATK from the deck.”

Kira lazily lifted his arm, and another golden beam shot from his deck.

”Special Summon ’Nova Summoner’ No. 2.”

[Nova Summoner, ATK 1400]

Paradox was getting annoyed.

Again…

This effect was almost the same as Shining Angel’s! That means he can summon three Novas and heal three more times.

Paradox sneered, ”No matter how much LP you recover, it only buys you a round or two at best. These trash angels can only stall for defense, right?”

Trash angels?

Kira nearly laughed.

Looks like this ”future man” has never heard of the ”Agent Angels.”

Agent Angels—the 2011 World Championship winning deck, a top-tier Fairy archetype known for powerful beaters, lockdowns, and fast swarming. It once dominated the era.

In the anime world, the deck wasn’t that rare; many components even appeared as cameos. Kira had collected most of the pieces, though not in the original build.

”Angels aren’t as gentle and friendly as they look,” Kira said quietly. ”If you think you can anger them and get away with it, you might be in for a nasty surprise.”

Paradox frowned. ”What?”

Kira simply smiled. ”Battle continues.

Nova No. 2, attack Malefic Cyber End Dragon.”

Of course, the second Nova was destroyed, and Kira healed again.

[Kira, LP 13100 → LP 14500]

”Special Summon Nova No. 3!”

[Nova Summoner, ATK 1400]

”Nova, attack again!”

The last Nova was destroyed and became more fuel for Kira.

[Kira, LP 14500 → LP 15900]

Even if he claimed that LP didn’t matter, Paradox couldn’t help but shudder at Kira’s monstrous 15,900 LP.

That much LP…

Even with his Malefics summoning 4000+ ATK monsters, it’d be tough to break through.

Paradox steeled himself:

”But now you’re out of floating angels. That last one should’ve been your final Nova.

So, what now? Can you keep going?”

”Setup is almost complete,” Kira said calmly.

”Now for the main event.

Nova’s effect: Special Summon a LIGHT Fairy with 1500 or less ATK from the deck. This time, I summon—

—The Agent of Force—Mars!”

A red-armored angel, with a heavy hammer and solemn expression, descended from the sky.

[The Agent of Force—Mars, ATK 0]

”Mars’s effect: If Sanctuary in the Sky is on the field and my LP is higher than yours…”

Kira smiled.

”Mars’s ATK and DEF increase by the difference between our LP totals!”

Paradox: ”!?”
