Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

Level 13!

It was as if she had broken through the ceiling, reaching a new world above the limit. Many might think the highest level for a Duel Monster is 12 stars — anything above that is beyond the rules, impossible.

But that’s not true.

Level 12 is just like 5000 attack points — merely the visible ceiling.

Just as the Five-Headed Dragon’s 5000 attack points seem to be the highest printed on a monster card, but with changing times, Five-Headed Dragon has become ”not even worth being called a wall.”

Although the base attack limit is 5000, with card effects and monster abilities, it’s not hard to push beyond. With enough buffs, even infinite attack is possible under the rules — 5000 is just a base limit.

Same goes for levels. Level 12 may be the highest printed, but it’s not the rules’ upper limit. With enough effects, you could have a 100-star king and it would still be legal.

”Silent Magician Zero’s effect — attack increases again as her level rises!”

Now evolved back to her mature form, Silent Magician spun her staff, a powerful aura swirling around her, unleashing a transparent cyclone.

”Wow, evolved Silent is so cool!” Jaden cheered. ”She’s both beautiful and powerful — she even suppressed the Wicked God!”

Yubel scoffed, ”Tch, what’s so great about that?”

Jaden laughed awkwardly: ”Ahaha, of course, Yubel, you’re amazing too.”

Yubel: ”Who needs your half-hearted flattery.”

She turned away, arms crossed.

Jaden: ”…”

On the other side, the Avatar snorted heavily, glancing at the defeated Eraser behind him: ”Useless trash — can’t even handle a magician.

Wasted the evolution chance on you, and it’s all for nothing!”

Eraser was indignant — as if the others weren’t just as vulnerable. Magic is a divine monsters’ weakness; only the Winged Dragon of Ra in Phoenix mode has immunity. All gods, high or low, are affected by spells for one turn.

It’s not just me that’s weak to magic, so why am I the only one scolded…

Still, he could only bow his head and take the blame, admitting his incompetence and failing to fulfill his big brother’s leadership.

He had no choice — after all, he was the weakest of the trio, always the designated scapegoat when they lost team fights.

”Useless!”

The Avatar spat again, his gaze toward Kira growing colder.

The Winged Dragon, then the Shining Sarcophagus, now this Silent Magician’s spirit… He saw more and more of those Pharaoh and vessel shadows from the past in this man.

No way… Is it another of those accursed Pharaoh duo…

No, impossible.

The vessel is one thing, but the Pharaoh is long gone — it has to be so.

They would not lose again, would not forever live in the Pharaoh’s shadow.

This duel was also a desperate battle for the three brothers — no more defeat!

”My turn! Draw!”

The Wicked God roared, his draw stirring a tornado of darkness, the pressure vast as Mount Everest.

But before he could act, Kira snapped his fingers.

”As you draw, Silent Magician Zero’s effect activates!

Every time the opponent draws, Silent Magician Zero gains one level!”

[Silent Magician Zero, LV13 → LV14]

[Silent Magician Zero, ATK 5500 → ATK 6000]

6000 attack points…

The Wicked God gritted his teeth.

At this rate, her attack would increase every turn. If he played draw cards or even just hand-cycling cards, her attack would skyrocket even further.

”I activate the spell card ’Banishment of the Darklords!’ ” said the Wicked God. ”This card can only be played once per turn, and allows me to add any ’Darklord’ card from my deck to my hand!”

Any card of the archetype, not just monsters — monsters, spells, or traps, all included. A powerful searcher, able to fetch any resource for expansion, resilience, or removal.

But of course, Kira wouldn’t let it go through: ”Silent!”

Silent Magician had long been ready. At Kira’s command, she pointed her golden staff, a vortex of white light shooting out to strike the Wicked God’s spell in the back row. Chains of binding runes instantly locked down the card, the golden light in its art immediately dimming.

The Wicked God’s face changed: ”So this Silent Magician also inherited the ’Silent Magician Zero’ ability?”

”And is even stronger,” Kira smiled. ”Silent Magician Zero, while the Shining Sarcophagus is on the field, can once per turn negate the activation of an opponent’s spell card!

And after that, Silent Magician Zero gains another level!”

White energy surged from the Wicked God’s spell card, flowing into Silent Magician, as if her magic was being drawn out.

Silent Magician’s power increased again, her aura exploding outward.

[Silent Magician Zero, LV14 → LV15]

[Silent Magician Zero, ATK 6000 → ATK 6500]

Level 15, 6500 attack!

And unlike the previous ”Silent Magician” form, whose attack depended on hand size (like a mini Slifer), which forced the user to choose between keeping high attack or using cards, Silent Magician Zero’s attack increases with her level, and once gained, her level never drops. As long as she stays on the field, it only goes higher.

They couldn’t let this spirit go unchecked.

With the Shining Sarcophagus and Silent Magician Zero on the field, even the Wicked God started to feel the pressure.

”I activate the spell card ’Darklord Contact!’ ”

Kira’s eyebrows rose.

That card again…

Previously, ”Darklord Nasten” copied Darklord Contact’s effect from the grave, then Darklord Contact was shuffled back into the deck — and now, apparently, he drew it again.

But after so many draws, and considering Destiny Draw powers, it’s not strange he drew it again.

The Wicked God glared coldly at Silent Magician.

”This turn, that troublesome magician will leave the field!”

....

PS: Finally, best girl Silent Magician taking the lead.
