Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”You are a duelist who shouldn’t exist, Fujiki Kira.”

Paradox said coldly.

”History is in chaos. I’m not sure if you’re merely part of the chaos, or the root cause. But one thing is certain: your presence brings this world closer to destruction.”

Kira frowned.

He said Kira shouldn’t exist—Kira already had a guess. Maybe because he was a transmigrator.

Fujiki Kira originally existed in this world, but if he hadn’t transmigrated, following the original path, he likely would have lived an unremarkable life, leaving no mark on history.

His transmigration changed Fujiki Kira’s destiny and altered Duel Monsters’ history.

It made sense. After all, Kira wasn’t just a skilled duelist; he’d developed countless decks and uncovered the potential of various monsters and archetypes. Everything he did was enough to shift the course of Duel Monsters’ history—he might even be called history’s new direction.

”In short, your importance is second only to Pegasus, the father of Duel Monsters.”

Paradox glanced at his wrist device.

”I don’t know what role you play in this chaos, but you must be eliminated.”

Kira knew this man’s background, so he had some idea what was going on. Mokuba, on the other hand, was completely lost and scratched his head, ”What is this guy even talking about?”

But in any case, the duel had to be won first.

”My turn. Draw.”

After drawing, Kira paused, then looked around at the illusory Malefic field, smiling mysteriously.

For some reason, Paradox sensed a strange danger from his smile.

”The Malefic Deck combines the strongest spirits from multiple eras—it’s impressive. But when it comes to spirit mastery and deck development, I do know a thing or two.

Your deck takes the path of violent binding, forcibly kidnapping spirits from various eras, doesn’t it?”

He’d seen this kind of thing before. For example, Franz, the designer who collaborated with Industrial Illusions to develop the Winged Dragon of Ra deck, initially designed a field spell called ”Mound of the Bound Creator” to shackle the Gods.

For the Malefic Deck, Malefic World is Paradox’s Mound of the Bound Creator.

”So what if it is?” Paradox scoffed.

”If that’s the case, it means your spirits will lose control the moment the field is gone. That’s an obvious weakness.”

Kira smiled, shaking the card in his hand.

”Field Spell—

Sanctuary in the Sky!”

Paradox: ”!!!”

SSSHH!

In an instant, dazzling white light descended, like an angelic halo. White clouds rose, surrounding a snow-white palace bathed in holy light—like a divine realm.

This is the exclusive field for Fairy-Type monsters, representing heaven in the card lore, opposing the demon-ruled ”Pandemonium.”

Of course, the card itself wasn’t what made Paradox’s heart stop.

In the current duel rules, only one Field Spell can exist at a time. A new field wipes out the old one.

Thus, with Sanctuary in the Sky activated, Malefic World was destroyed by the rules!

Sure enough, in the next moment, the black corruption on Malefic Blue-Eyes and Malefic Cyber End Dragon rapidly faded, and they returned to their original forms. Both dragons roared angrily, then exploded into fragments.

”I see!” Mokuba exclaimed. ”This guy can summon powerful spirits, but only by binding them with that Malefic field. Once it’s gone, they self-destruct!”

This differs from the real cards. Actual Malefic monsters only need a Field Spell present to stay. So even if you replace Malefic World, they won’t explode.

But in the anime, Malefic monsters have far stronger abilities, but the cost is they can only exist with Malefic World. Without it, they all instantly self-destruct.

”As expected from a Duel King and the world’s greatest card designer!”

Mokuba was in awe again.

”Just by understanding card theory, he saw through the opponent’s deck at a glance and deduced the field was the weakness...”

Wiping the opponent with a single Field Spell, Kira’s strength lay not just in dueling, but in his knowledge of card design and theory!

(Not that Mokuba knew Kira had read the original story and already knew the Malefic Deck’s weaknesses—even if it came from the future.)

”Damn it...”

As the smoke cleared, Paradox’s face darkened. His Blue-Eyes had exploded, but Cyber End Dragon stubbornly remained.

”Continuous Trap ’Dimension Guardian’,” Paradox growled. ”This card makes one of my monsters indestructible by battle or card effects.

I used it to protect Malefic Cyber End Dragon from self-destruction.”

”Heh, at least you managed to keep one monster on the field,” Kira said. ”But it’s still a 4000 ATK Cyber End—troublesome.”

He calmly drew another card.

”Let’s try this first.

Activate Continuous Spell ’Fountain in the Sky!’”

A fountain of emerald water gushed forth in the cloud-shrouded sanctuary.

”Summon ’Shining Angel’ in attack position!”

Bathed in holy light, the halo-crowned angel flew to the field, flapping pure white wings.

[Shining Angel, ATK 1400]

”Battle. Shining Angel, attack Malefic Cyber End Dragon!”

Paradox: ”!?”

Challenging his Cyber End with a 1400 ATK minion?

What’s this guy plotting?

Paradox gritted his teeth, ”Then take this!

Malefic Eternal Evolution Burst!”

Cyber End unleashed a storm of black lightning, melting Shining Angel in a flash. Nothing unexpected happened—the Cyber End’s attack easily destroyed the angel.

Paradox grew even more confused.

No tricks? Was it really just a free hit?
