Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”What?”

The Wicked God looked at the Iron Knight, who had been summoned back to the field, his brows furrowing slightly before a thought flashed through his mind.

Pinpoint Guard reviving a Level 4 monster from the grave to act as an invincible shield for a turn—that was the only reason he thought the Iron Knight was revived. That was indeed his first instinct.

But what if it was more than that?

The Iron Knight, when combined with that ”Butterfly Dagger - Elma,” has unlimited possibilities. If those two cards are reunited again...

”My turn, draw.”

Kira declared.

”First, I set a card facedown on the field.

Then, I activate the Spell Card, ’Card of Demise.’ I draw until I have five cards in my hand.”

Kira drew up to five cards in one go, his expression turning serious.

”However, counting from this turn, during my fifth Standby Phase, I’ll have to discard my entire hand.”

Yes, the key to using Card of Demise is to always emphasize the ’huge risk’ for dramatic effect, or it just wouldn’t have a soul.

”Next, I activate my facedown card,” Kira continued, ”Trap Card, ’Armory Call’ I can add one Equip Spell from my Deck to my hand, and if there’s a monster on the field that can be equipped, I can immediately equip that card to a monster on the field.”

Wicked God: ”!”

Damn it, I knew something was wrong!

He had a bad feeling about this all along!

”The Equip Spell I’m searching for from my Deck is, of course—”

Kira smiled, pulling out the ejected card from his Deck.

”I add the Equip Spell, ’Butterfly Dagger - Elma,’ to my hand.”

Jaden: ”Oh! Elma No. 2! With this, the infinite loop combo is complete again!”

Kaiba said nothing, but was secretly shocked. After the previous loop was broken, he could so casually set up the loop again.

This wasn’t even arrogance or exaggeration—this guy’s infinite loops really gave the impression that it was as easy as a basic attack.

Wicked God gritted his teeth, muttering, ”So what if you complete another loop? If all you have is Iron Knight and Butterfly Dagger, it’s just a meaningless cycle.”

He narrowed his eyes, his voice low.

”In a duel, anyone using a meaningless infinite loop just to stall will be immediately disqualified.”

”Meaningless?”

Kira chuckled.

”None of my actions are meaningless, as you’ll soon see. Next, I Normal Summon ’Fire Princess.’”

A burst of flames erupted on the ground, forming a humanoid figure. Long silver hair, a fiery red robe as if aflame, and a golden staff burning with fire.

[Fire Princess, DEF 1300]

”Fire Princess, huh.” Jaden, who knew Kira best, seemed to already guess what was about to happen, watching with a cheerful grin. ”Looks like things are about to get interesting again.”

”Next, Continuous Spell: ’Spell Absorption!’” Kira announced. ”As long as Spell Absorption remains on the field, every time a Spell Card is activated, I recover 500 Life Points!”

Wicked God frowned for two seconds, then his eyes widened in realization.

”Fire Princess… Right, her effect is—”

He suddenly remembered.

Fire Princess’s effect: every time you recover Life Points, inflict 500 damage to your opponent.

Spell Absorption recovers 500 LP every time a Spell is activated.

Then, Butterfly Dagger - Elma is activated, equipped to Iron Knight, self-destructs, and returns to hand automatically...

With this infinite loop, Kira would gain infinite Life Points while dealing infinite effect damage to his opponent!

Wicked God’s mouth twitched.

This bastard… He really managed to make a previously meaningless loop meaningful within one turn.

Wait, is it really that easy to create infinite loops?

How do you have so many ways to loop so effortlessly?

”Incredible, Kira. One loop is broken, and another immediately appears.” Jaden sincerely admired.

Yubel frowned. ”He sure has a lot of tricks up his sleeve.”

”Heh, of course.” Jaden grinned. ”Kira is the strongest!”

Kaiba also narrowed his eyes.

This time the opponent had no set cards left. There were only two Wicked Gods on the field. No matter how invincible their face-up effects were, neither Dreadroot nor Avatar had a way to counter such underhanded tactics.

Is this the end for the Wicked Gods...?

At this moment, Kira’s loop had already begun.

”I activate the Equip Spell, ’Butterfly Dagger - Elma,’” Kira said, ”and equip it to ’Iron Knight - Gearfried.’

Since a Spell Card was activated, ’Spell Absorption’ triggers—I recover 500 LP. After I recover, Fire Princess’s effect deals 500 effect damage to you.”

Wicked God’s expression grew twisted.

”No—”

Wicked God spoke coldly.

”We are gods, bearers of endless darkness for all worlds. We will not be defeated by such tactics—”

He roared, flinging a card from his hand.

”Trap Card, ’Typhoon!’”

Jaden was shocked. ”A Trap activated from the hand?”

Kaiba frowned. ”I see, so that’s it.”

”Typhoon can be activated from the hand if you have no Spell or Trap on your field, and your opponent has two or more Spell/Trap cards on the field.

It destroys one face-up Spell/Trap on the field!”

Kira nodded. ”At the moment Butterfly Dagger - Elma is activated, I have both Elma and Spell Absorption on the field—two Spells, satisfying Typhoon’s activation condition.”

Only at that exact moment could Typhoon be activated from the hand.

Wicked God eyed Kira’s back row.

While Butterfly Dagger is the core of the infinite loop, destroying it is pointless. Even if Elma equipped to Iron Knight is destroyed, it returns to Kira’s hand.

That leaves only one choice…

”Destroy the Continuous Spell ’Spell Absorption’!”

A typhoon surged forth, sweeping across Kira’s field like a blade. Spell Absorption was sucked into the vortex and shredded to pieces.

”Spell Absorption was destroyed before its effect could resolve. Since it’s a Continuous Spell, its effect doesn’t continue,” Wicked God said coldly. ”You didn’t gain any LP, so Fire Princess’s effect doesn’t trigger, and I don’t take any damage.”

Kira nodded. ”But Butterfly Dagger - Elma still activated and equipped to Iron Knight. When it’s destroyed, it returns to my hand.”

Kira retrieved Elma from his graveyard.

Wicked God grunted. ”Whatever.”

Without Spell Absorption, the LP recovery-burn combo with Fire Princess was broken. Even if Elma returns infinitely, it’s just a meaningless loop, no longer a threat.

”You broke the loop again. Impressive,” Kira said with a smile.

”So… how about this next move?”
