Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 238: Chapter 237:Collapse...

”Despair.”

[Ding!]

[SUPREME LAW]

The ultimate conclusion of Hope.

For only those who possess Hope may truly know Despair.

Born from the collapse of possibility, Despair is the certainty that no better future awaits.

It is the surrender of dreams, the abandonment of purpose, and the end of resistance.

When Hope dies, only Despair remains.

....

”Well, that wasn’t ominous at all...” just reading the description of this law was making me depressed, and I wasn’t even being attacked by it...

”Just what the fuck did Leo comprehend?”.

This law, this Supreme depression machine, was inevitably tied to the Major law of hope.

[MAJOR LAW]:

The beginning of possibility.

Hope is the belief that a better future can be reached, no matter how distant it may seem.

It strengthens will, restores purpose, and binds existence to the pursuit of continuation.

Where Hope exists, Despair can be born.

...

”Beginning of possibility, collapse of possibility.”

”Two sides of the same coin, one cannot exist without the other, for when one Is born, the other dies, and when one dies, the other is born.”

”Hope and Despair....”

[Your insight into the [SUPREME LAW] has deepened...

...]

”Leo, oh Leo, just what the fuck did you get your hands on?” I couldn’t help shaking my head at the absurdity of this law..

Imagine something you could never truly defend against?

Strong will? Sure, but does a strong will mean you lack hope? No!

And once that seed of hope remains in you, then you’re never truly safe from this law.

Remove hope? You’re just begging for a quicker death at the hands of despair..

”What a ridiculous thing..” I sighed..

.....

..

It took me a moment to get over the feeling of what I’d just seen, but, ”time waits for no man.” I had already cleared one out, a big one at that, now it was time to see what the others were.

...

A Supreme-grade talent that grants absolute authority over shadows in their physical and spatial manifestations.

The user does not manipulate shadows in a traditional sense. Shadows instinctively obey.

All shadows within the user’s influence are treated as extensions of will, automatically reshaping, compressing, or extending themselves to match intent.

Core Traits:-

• Absolute command over shadow-based constructs within perception range.

• Passive destabilization and concealment of opposing light-based perception and detection.

• Automatic refinement and optimization of all shadow-based techniques and constructs.

• Passive domain that expands and deepens environmental shadows to align with the user.

• Hostile targets within shadowed zones experience reduced spatial awareness and delayed reaction to movement.

• Instinctive shaping of complex shadow constructs without formal casting.

• Partial override and disruption of weaker shadow-based abilities.

Supreme Trait – :-

All shadows within range are subconsciously redefined as extensions of the user’s authority, subtly bending position, density, and connectivity toward their will.

Note: This talent does not enhance shadow.

It establishes authority over it...

...

Well that was... disappointing..

Don’t get me wrong, it was still an absolute monster of a talent, one that would be horrible to face off against in the right environment but,

”I thought I was finally going to be sung jin woo...”.

The moment I read the name of the title, I was sure I was on my way to becoming the newly christened shadow monarch, but all I get is this glorified assassin kit that I probably won’t be using for anything...

”Haaa... total let down..” and after such an epic thing like despair too.

Well, I guess the description was right on the money after all.

I hoped for the shadow monarch, now I’m in despair because of a glorified assassin’s kit...

”Let’s just get this over with...”

.....

:-

A fragmented Exalted-grade bloodline derived from the Immemorial Golden Ape lineage.

This bloodline grants enhanced physical dominance, adaptive combat instincts, and heightened resistance to suppression-type forces. It carries a diluted imprint of the Golden Ape’s primal authority, expressed through overwhelming physical enhancement and instinctive battlefield dominance.

Core Traits:-

• Significant enhancement of physical strength, durability, and explosive output.

• Rapid adjustment to enemy patterns during direct combat engagement.

• Performance increases under pressure, injury, or hostility.

• Partial synchronization with the Immemorial Golden Ape lineage, increasing dominance over lesser beast-type bloodlines.

• Resistance to fear, intimidation, and aura-based suppression effects.

Note: This is a fragmented inheritance of the Immemorial Golden Ape bloodline.

It represents only a diluted Exalted shard of the lineage’s original authority.

.....

”Damn...” I know I’ve seen overly dramatic things, but this bloodline, merely a fragment, was already physically overwhelming.

No wonder those apes were that dominant, because, even if it were only the heirs that had significant traces of said bloodlines, there should still be minute traces within the ape clans themselves, no wonder even central continent forces seemed wary...

”Heh... now I’m more interested in finding out what that monkey got from his full inheritance..”

shaking my head, I moved onto the next item on the list...

:-

A fragmented Exalted-grade bloodline derived from the Lifetree lineage.

This bloodline governs the circulation of life-energy within a localized environment, granting enhanced vitality control, regenerative amplification, and environmental life resonance. It allows the user to interact with life-force as a tangible current within space.

Core Traits:-

• Enhanced control over life-energy flow within self and nearby targets, improving recovery and sustained combat endurance.

• Rapid amplification of natural healing processes in living organisms under the user’s influence.

• Passive synchronization with ambient life-force, increasing sensitivity to living presence and biological activity.

• Ability to suppress decay, poisoning, and internal destabilization within affected targets.

• Temporary reinforcement of life-force stability in allies or self, reducing fatal breakdown under extreme damage.

Note: This is a fragmented Exalted inheritance of the Lifetree bloodline.

It represents only a localized shard of the greater Worldheart authority.

....

”Heh... at this rate, it’ll be virtually impossible for anyone to kill me.”

No, really, because, I already had chaotic denial, that ability alone, made me an unkillable cockroach, and now we’re adding this to the mix?

And it’s only at the EXALTED rank, what if I devoured more and evolved it to SUPREME? What if I evolved it into the true Lifetree bloodline? Then what?

”And speaking of the Lifetree...” my mind had already started spinning ideas the moment I heard my system’s description of what that thing was.

Unfortunately, I had not the means nor the strength to put my plans into action, yet.

But, there was finally a way.

I could finally see it..

A way to bring them back, as all I had to do now was,

”Be strong!”

And that was exactly what I planned on doing.

I smiled, suddenly feeling refreshed as a new wave of hope washed over my being, a golden light covering me softly as,

[DING!]

[You comprehension of the [MAJOR LAW] has deepened...

:-

The failure of existence to remain whole.

Collapse does not destroy.

It removes stability from form, structure, and continuity itself.

What is affected does not break—it loses the ability to stay together as itself.

When Collapse is invoked, all cohesion unravels until existence can no longer persist.

.....

”Well... Damn.”

A/N: yes, finally, I’m done with this shit... time to move on..

I’ll be putting up that law compendium Chapter after this, so you guys can track the progress of the laws and status itself since I will be putting them up less frequently.

And, if you guys want to see what the others do, then just let me know and I’ll add their descriptions to the compendium as well..

Any ways as always..
