The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 117: Chapter 117: You Are So Naughty

Today, Han Xiaorui had dressed up with care. She wore a headband in her long, wavy hair, which she left down. She had on a beige shirt with an orange floral print and a light orange, cinched-waist skirt.

She had a fiery personality to begin with, and the lipstick she wore was the brightest shade of red.

Her snow-white skin, enhanced by makeup, made her features look even more exquisite.

Bright, wide eyes, flaming red lips, and a tall, willowy figure—it all went perfectly with her Hong Kong-style outfit.

The moment she appeared in the hospital, its cool color palette made her stand out like a delicate morning flower.

She wasn’t just beautiful; she was overflowing with vitality.

One young doctor was so busy staring that he only snapped out of it after walking straight into a pillar.

Han Xiaorui arrived outside Ye Feng’s room and peeked inside through the small glass window on the door.

Ye Feng was already awake, but Xiao Gu, who was supposed to be watching over him, was fast asleep by the bed, snoring softly.

Ye Feng thought Xiao Gu must be exhausted, so he didn’t call out to him.

The truth was, he needed to use the restroom.

Seeing this, Han Xiaorui knocked on the door. Xiao Gu woke up and came to open it. ”You are...”

”Ye Feng’s girlfriend.” Han Xiaorui announced her identity openly and confidently.

Ye Feng himself had admitted it yesterday.

When Ye Feng saw Han Xiaorui at the door, looking like the most beautiful flower in a morning garden, his eyes lit up.

He had always known Han Xiaorui was beautiful. Without makeup, she possessed a healthy, simple beauty. With makeup, she was stunningly alluring and bewitching.

”You’re here early,” Ye Feng said with a faint smile. After a night’s rest, his body felt much better.

In fact, when Han Xiaorui had visited yesterday, she had transferred some of her superpower into him while holding his hand to help his body recover.

Of course, because her superpower had only recently awakened and wasn’t very strong, he hadn’t felt anything at the time. But after a night of sleep, the benefits became apparent.

While Ye Feng slept through the night, the superpower had been continuously mending his body.

Han Xiaorui chuckled. ”The kids were heading to class, so I just came into the city with their ride.”

”Xiao Gu, give me a hand,” Ye Feng said. He really couldn’t hold it anymore; he had to use the restroom.

”I’ll help you,” Han Xiaorui offered, reaching out her hand.

Ye Feng tilted his head and chuckled. ”I have to use the restroom. You want to come along?”

Hearing this, Han Xiaorui lightly slapped Ye Feng’s arm. ”Hey, you’re being naughty!”

Xiao Gu looked down to hide his smile, not daring to watch the usually serious Director Ye acting so uncharacteristically playful with his girlfriend.

’Wow, Director Ye’s girlfriend is gorgeous!’

’I’m too embarrassed to even look for too long!’

With Xiao Gu’s help, he went to the bathroom to rinse his mouth, brush his teeth, and wash his face.

When he came out again, Ye Feng looked much more refreshed.

Han Xiaorui was pouring sea cucumber congee into a bowl and stirring it with a spoon. Steam and a fragrant aroma rose from the bowl.

Xiao Gu smiled. ”Director Ye, Comrade Xiao Han, I’m going to step out for breakfast. You two take your time and chat.”

Ye Feng nodded. ”Okay, no need to hurry back.”

Xiao Gu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He’d better get going; a third wheel is always unwelcome.

Ye Feng sat up, and Han Xiaorui began feeding him the congee. ”Is it too hot?”

”Not at all, it’s perfect,” Ye Feng chuckled. He could have eaten it himself, but being fed by Han Xiaorui felt like a luxury.

”How is it? Does it taste okay? I learned how to make this sea cucumber congee specifically from Sister Cai, so it should be pretty good,” Han Xiaorui asked as she fed him.

”It’s delicious.” Ye Feng had a big appetite and ate two whole bowls of the congee.

After the meal, Han Xiaorui brought some warm water for Ye Feng to rinse his mouth.

Lying back down, Ye Feng held Han Xiaorui’s hand. ”My grandma, grandpa, and my aunt gave you a hard time yesterday. I already told them off, so please don’t be angry.”

Han Xiaorui shrugged, unconcerned. ”I’m not angry. I’m dating you, not them.”

”Besides, I had just gotten off the fishing boat yesterday. I really was grimy and reeked of fish. Your grandma, grandpa, and aunt are all from a wealthy family. It’s only normal they’d think a Little Fish Girl like me isn’t good enough for you.”

Ye Feng smiled faintly. He loved Han Xiaorui’s confidence and frankness. ”They’ll like you once they get to know you.”

”It doesn’t matter,” Han Xiaorui said with a light laugh. ”Whether they like me or not doesn’t really affect me. You’re an adult with a mind of your own, so they don’t have much influence on you, either. After all, you don’t even give your own father face, let alone other relatives.”

Han Xiaorui’s words truly struck a chord with Ye Feng.

Ye Feng wanted to laugh out loud, but his injuries wouldn’t allow for such an indulgence.

”You’re right,” Ye Feng said with a laugh. Han Xiaorui understood him so well.

He only ever changed his decisions when he himself wanted to, not because of what a few other people said.

After talking with Ye Feng for an hour, Han Xiaorui took her leave. ”It’s Friday, so I’ll go back to my place in the city and make you some pork rib congee.”

”You don’t have to go to all that trouble. They have it in the cafeteria,” Ye Feng said. He didn’t want Han Xiaorui to work so hard; just having her visit was enough to make him content.

Han Xiaorui shook her head with a playful pout. ”How could that be okay? If I care about you and like you, can I just say it with words? Shouldn’t my actions show it?”

”Don’t think of it as a chore. Life is unpredictable. I’ll take care of you when you’re unwell, and when I’m unwell, you’ll have to take care of me. I won’t let you get away with anything for free.”

Ye Feng smiled. ”You’re right. Just using words to express affection feels like a lie; actions are what matter. It’s just that, to take care of me, you won’t be able to go out to sea for a few days.”

Han Xiaorui broke into a dazzling smile. ”The sea is right there; it’s not going anywhere. If I don’t go out for a few days, I can always go later. There’s no rush.”

”Xiao Gu is back. Now that someone is here to look after you, I can leave without worry.”

The water Han Xiaorui used to make the congee was imbued with her Water Ability, which would help Ye Feng recover faster.

Therefore, cooking for him these next few days was crucial.

While Han Xiaorui was chatting with Ye Feng, nurses and doctors occasionally came by to do their rounds.

Part of it was to check on the patient, and part of it was to get a look at Han Xiaorui.

They had heard that Director Ye’s girlfriend was even more beautiful than a Hong Kong movie star.

Shencheng was one of the first cities to open up under the reform policy, so it had the most foreign exchange and was more receptive to new things from the outside world.

Han Xiaorui wasn’t short on money. Whenever she went to the mall to buy clothes, she always picked the prettiest and most fashionable items. With her good looks, she became a beautiful sight to behold the moment she stepped out.

She hailed a three-wheeled taxi and headed straight for Fuli Garden, the apartment her sister had bought.

There was a wet market nearby, which she had visited once when they were buying the apartment. Han Xiaorui was reasonably familiar with the area, so she went straight to the market.

She bought so much chicken, fish, meat, and eggs that she couldn’t carry it all, so she went to a general store and bought a small rolling cart.

Han Xiaorui then went to a spice shop to buy various seasonings. She planned to stay in the city over the weekend to take care of Ye Feng.

Once Pingping and An’an finished their classes at noon, Han Xiaoqing would have Liu Sihai drive them over.

Han Xiaorui’s little cart was filled to the brim as she pushed it into Fuli Garden.

’I’ll make the pork rib congee when I get home,’ she thought, ’along with some dishes for the kids and my sister. And of course, I have to make my favorite, sweet and sour pork ribs.’

As she was thinking about what to have for lunch, a car suddenly sped out from inside the complex, nearly hitting her.

Han Xiaorui opened her mouth to yell, ”In a rush to get reincarnated?!” but when she looked up, she saw an ”old acquaintance.”

’What a way to ruin my appetite!’
