After chatting a bit with Tygris, this Supreme Grandmaster rarely speaks much, and Laine didn’t have many topics to discuss with him either; they only exchanged a few casual words.

Inside the cabin of the High Elf battleship is nothing like the crowded space filled with people in a human large sailboat; instead, it’s a splendid palace. With the aid of magic, the actual area of the palace is much larger than the real size of the cabin. At least, when Laine headed back to his accommodation, he took several minutes to reach the place.

The lower deck’s interior includes a colorful fountain, a library filled with numerous High Elf books, a storeroom, and even a music hall. High Elves never abandon their civilization and pride, even during battles and naval journeys. As Laine walked on the lower sturdy deck, most of the High Elves he passed were elegant and composed, treating him more as a regular crew member rather than showing contempt or respect.

Laine brought only a few people on this trip, including the Jialan Witch Veronica and the female sorcerer Teresa, as well as his wife Surya and Surya’s maid Sylvia, while the female knight on that side was responsible for a few servants.

Tygris allocated three rooms for them to stay, with no doubt one room for the couple, one room for Teresa and Veronica, and one room for Sylvia with several servants.

Opening the door, Surya and Veronica were sitting at a small table in the room, sipping floral tea and savoring the Elf pastries, chatting over something. On the table in front of Veronica was a High Elf magic book, with the power of the Wind of Light turning within it.

”We probably have to sail on the sea for about two weeks, reach Marinburg, and then proceed via Rick River to Brunswick.” Surya, dressed in a velvet white snow fox fur coat, held a teacup as the aroma of floral tea filled the room. The female knight wore over-knee high-heeled boots and flesh-colored thick stockings. Having spent two weeks at the Lake Fairy Tower with Laine, Surya’s exquisite beauty had lost its greenness and was gradually becoming mature and enchanting, exuding her fragrance: ”Don’t worry, Veronica, if you... Laine, you’re back?”

”Surya, Veronica, what are you chatting about?” Laine pulled over a chair and sat down. Despite the large cabin of the High Elf battleship, the scale of several hundred crew members determined that the rooms in the cabin focused on practicality, roughly twenty square meters in size, enough only to fit a bed, a table, and a few cabinets: ”Where’s Teresa?”

”Teresa is still in the library... I just borrowed a book to read slowly tonight.” Veronica said with a playful expression on her sweet face: ”What’s up, my Great Knight, do you just like to see us three sitting together?”

Today the Jialan Witch wore a vintage brown marten woolen coat, her long, slender legs wrapped in black stockings crossed discreetly, her cute silk feet in black high heels. Unlike Surya, the Jialan Witch is not afraid of the cold, so she maintains this attire most seasons of the year.

”Not really.” Laine shook his head: ”Being able to receive teaching from Lord Tygris is a rare opportunity for you, be sure to make the most of it.”

Tygris agreed to teach magic to the two witches because Laine shamelessly pleaded for them. In fact, two months of instruction caused both Teresa and Veronica to make great leaps in their magic abilities. Tygris’s magic level is extremely high, and his teaching method of answering any question has benefited them immensely.

”Veronica and Miss Teresa are very diligent. I’ve seen them spend most of every day in the library, reading and asking questions to Lord Tygris on the deck.” Surya said with a smile on her face, praising them, and Veronica noticeably felt pressure, repeatedly saying it’s nothing.

Watching them, Laine felt amused yet a bit sad. Veronica had always been a fearless Jialan Witch with thorns all over, but in front of Surya, this Duke’s Daughter and ”official wife,” Veronica still had to carefully show respect, determined by her identity as a sorcerer. In the Old World, the position of casters was strange; humans relied on their abilities to resist enemies, yet secretly guarded and openly opposed them because they were more susceptible to Chaos Corruption.

Veronica couldn’t overthrow the entire system; to stay by Laine’s side, she could only be like this. From a perspective, even Margarita, such a Holy Sanctuary Witch, ended up being Lover to Savior Ludwig; both witches were satisfied with becoming Laine’s female courtier, feeling neither humiliation nor disgrace. Being Laine’s female courtier means they are protected and receive public recognition, which is crucial for casters; otherwise, why would the position of Imperial Royal Chief Grand Wizard be so valued by casters – it’s essentially this reason.

Casters desperately seek societal recognition, but the ones who end up genuinely recognized by the masses are very few, because casters can easily be corrupted and become Chaos Cultists.
