Warhammer Divine Throne

”Why?” Laine was always interested in the history of the High Elves because their power was truly formidable. Within the Order Faction, apart from the Ancient Saint’s servants whose strength remained unknown, the High Elves were the strongest. No other race could compare to their depth of heritage, just like the team of Hos Sword Saints Tygris brought along, less than a hundred in number, all of them Legendary Tier powerhouses.

According to the Lake Fairy, there were nearly a thousand Hos Sword Saints.

Besides, in the Avalon Courtyard, the Eternal Queen’s Maids, Calado’s Dragon Princes were in the scale of a thousand, and there were hundreds of Phoenix Guards in the Asuyan Holy Hall.

These armies were all composed of Legendary powerhouses, with quite a number from the Holy Sanctuary.

Brittania relied on the Holy Grail Knight Order to dominate the entire Old World, with about three hundred assembled Legendary Holy Grail Knights making the neighboring empire drool, and the strength of the High Elves was truly astounding.

Laine was very curious, what turned Phoenix King Finuba from a world-traveling navigator into a Phoenix King who rarely ventured out? It was known that the Elf Phoenix King often led personally, while the Eternal Queen generally stayed within.

This term’s Phoenix King and Eternal Queen had switched roles; ”Radiant Light” Ailarielle would sometimes even go out to battle alongside Terion.

”Because… as I mentioned before, Finuba is an excellent diplomat and politician, but not a competent warrior or mage, nor a worthy commander.” The Lake Fairy raised her head, looked at Laine’s profile, and softly said: ”Finuba’s strength is not even greater than Surya’s.”

”His strength is lacking?” Laine was even more puzzled: ”Is no one protecting him?”

”The Dark Elves, it is the Dark Elves. Witch King Malekith and Witch Queen Moras are continuously plotting how to assassinate the Phoenix King,” the Lake Fairy gently stroked Laine’s chest, speaking warmly: ”Finuba’s strength is insufficient to ensure he remains unscathed amid the relentless assassination attempts by the Dark Elves, hence he constantly hides in the Phoenix Royal Court, where the powerful protective array constructed by the Great Mages of Hos White Tower and a large group of White Lion Guards offer protection. The Dark Elves’ assassins and summons cannot penetrate the Phoenix Royal Court once the array is activated, ensuring Finuba’s safety.”

”No wonder Finuba completely hands over military power to Terion and Tygris.” Laine understood Finuba’s plight now.

This Phoenix King lacked both military ability and personal martial valor. Upon becoming Phoenix King, he could only proceed this way.

Otherwise, his rule would become unstable.

”Laine, grow stronger; your personal strength is paramount. Prepare thoroughly before the Moment of Destruction arrives,” the Lake Fairy leaned against Laine’s shoulder, murmuring: ”Our fate, yours and mine, depends on how strong we become. If we can’t endure the Moment of Destruction, then all grand plans are mere illusions.”

Laine nodded; strength is the essence of everything.

”Have you been feeling uncomfortable these few days? With me always staying here, mixing in your and Surya’s honeymoon?” After saying this, the Lake Fairy subtly shifted the topic to the area she wished to explore.

”I am, after all, a man; I personally have no objections to this. As for Surya, she seems to have no objections either.” Laine shook his head with a wry smile; the Goddess was clearly probing.

Surya is accepting and even enjoying such days, what right does Laine have to oppose?

”Then it seems these days will continue~ your honeymoon with Surya still has two weeks left.” The Lake Fairy received a satisfactory answer, her smile radiating like a flower: ”Tonight’s moonlight is stunning; I initially planned for us three to enjoy it together this time, and I have Asur’s Elf fruit flower tea here that’s beneficial for honeymooners.”

”We can do it tomorrow.”

”Then it’s settled,” the Lake Fairy whispered in Laine’s ear: ”You, indeed, if you like to watch, just say so. I’ve been wearing them for you to see this entire time.”

”Er~ alright.”

The Lake Fairy kissed Laine lightly on the cheek: ”This is happiness for the three of us, including me, you, and Surya.”

...…

Aisloron, King’s Forest.

After a period of travel, Tygris finally arrived at King’s Forest just before Olein and Airel walked into the fire and turned to ashes.

This was a magical land, where the roots of the Era Oak spread throughout, encircling every inch of land. Streams and flora and fauna sang joyfully amidst the forest. Towering trees completely obscured the sky, making paths nearly invisible, with slick moss covering the ground beneath. Walking on such terrain caused High Elves to splash quite a bit of moisture, causing unease for many of them.

In view, nothing but forest lay ahead, dense overlapping giant branches and deep verdant green filled Tygris’ entire vision. Here, enormous trees requiring eight people to embrace abounded, extending to depths almost unseen, as Wood Elf tribes roamed the woods, frolicking.

The light was extremely dim, with only the faint glow of Guiding Stones and Forest Essences preventing the deep forest from plunging entirely into darkness. The group lit torches as they followed a massive root deeper into the King’s Forest.

Taking a deep breath, the chill moisture seeped into the bones while the High Elves both savored the dense Magic Winds and felt connected to their kin.

Tygris remained silent, contemplating inwardly. His fellow kin were so stubborn that even orders from the Phoenix King couldn’t draw them back to Ossuan. Aisloron Forest indeed had a special charm; due to the Era Oak, the entire forest long bathed in the gusts of Magic Winds, causing every plant and tree to possess magical strength and consciousness.
