Chapter 2087: Chapter 2088: Unification of the World (17)

As Gong Juechen munched on a pancake, he mused, ”I’ve already added several potent herbs, but it’s still not working... Looks like I need to add more.”

An Jing expressed concern, ”By adding such strong herbs, could it not be harmful to Feiyan’s body?”

Gong Juechen replied, ”It’s not like she’s ingesting it – it’s just applied externally on her leg. Her leg is already ruined, so even if it’s harmful, the leg’s already gone; it doesn’t matter much.”

An Jing agreed, and no longer worried about him adding more potent herbs to the mix.

Once Gong Juechen again ground the herbs into a dark paste, he asked Huo Qingyi to apply it to Feng Feiyan’s leg and wrap it in strips of cloth.

In the middle of the night, Feng Feiyan’s leg, which previously felt nothing, began to warm slightly, as though the blood was invigorated. Feiyan’s heart was overjoyed, thinking there might truly be hope for her leg. However, considering it was late at night and not wanting to wake anyone, she refrained from calling out.

At dawn, hearing Huo Qingyi feeding the chickens outside, she called out to her.

”Qingyi, can you come in for a moment?”

Huo Qingyi quickly set down the chicken feed and entered Feng Feiyan’s room. Without waiting for any inquiry, Feng Feiyan, lying in bed, proactively said, ”My leg felt warm last night and still has some warmth now. Not sure if the medicine is working.”

Although Huo Qingyi didn’t understand medicine, hearing Feng Feiyan’s report filled her with joy as if they had found the right method for treating the leg. She quickly said, ”I’ll go get Master right away!”

When Huo Qingyi brought Gong Juechen in, An Jing and others, already awake, were surprised to hear that Feng Feiyan’s leg felt warm, prompting them to gather joyfully together in Feng Feiyan’s room.

Upon entering, Gong Juechen immediately inquired about the nature of the warmth in Feng Feiyan’s leg. After receiving her response, Gong Juechen laughed, ”It seems the blood flow is getting active. I’ll use the medicine a few more days and we might actually cure it.”

Everyone was delighted upon hearing this.

In the following days, Gong Juechen not only continued applying the medicine but also started using wooden planks to immobilize both of Feng Feiyan’s legs. Previously, as her leg was completely useless and uncertain if the medicine would work, they had only used cloth strips to wrap the medicine. With signs of effectiveness, Gong Juechen pragmatically employed the wooden planks, everyone hopeful about this remedy curing Feng Feiyan’s leg.

At first, Feng Feiyan merely felt slight warmth using the medicine, but after ten days, her leg felt thoroughly warm. Gong Juechen confirmed repeatedly before telling everyone that Feng Feiyan’s leg was showing signs of blood flow like a normal leg.

An Jing ecstatically asked, ”With blood flowing, when can Feiyan stand up?”

Gong Juechen replied, ”A fracture requires half to a full year to heal; Feiyan’s broken leg will need more time. Don’t rush, it’s not something that can be hurried.”

An Jing nodded in understanding.

Feng Feiyan smiled, ”If I can’t stand, it’s fine. My legs were always cold before, now feeling as warm as a normal leg with circulating blood, I am satisfied.”

Despite Feng Feiyan’s words, everyone felt if she could stand, it would be better than being in a wheelchair.

After applying medicine and fixing her leg with planks for over a month and a half, Gong Juechen encouraged Feng Feiyan to try standing up.

Everyone watched Feng Feiyan with bated breath.
