Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2080: Chapter 2081: Unification of the World (10)

The height of Feng Feiyan’s wheelchair was just right when sitting at the table, Su Yi Jing sat next to Feng Feiyan, and seeing that some food was a bit far for Feng Feiyan, he placed some in front of her.

The reason everyone was gathered so completely, not a single person missing, was because the New Year was approaching.

”Mother, the day after tomorrow is New Year’s Eve. How many chickens do you think we should slaughter on that day?” An Yiqing asked with a smile while cracking sunflower seeds. There were so many people in their family, if they killed too few, it wouldn’t be enough.

An Jing laughed and said, ”We’ve eaten several hundred chickens throughout the year, thanks to the large grounds we have around here to raise so many chickens. Otherwise, there would definitely be no chickens to slaughter for the New Year. With so many people in our family, if we count a chicken for every four people, we’d have to slaughter seven, wouldn’t we?”

”We raise so many chickens in our home just to eat them.” Su Yixing laughed. ”But Mother, I feel odd numbers aren’t good, so let’s kill eight instead.”

”Alright, eight it is.” An Jing had no objections.

Su Yixing took a sip of tea and then said to Feng Feiyan, ”My sister-in-law, I’ve concocted another recipe. The medicine is simmering over the fire, and once it’s made into paste, I’ll try it on you and see if it works.”

During this period, Su Yixing had been devoted to researching ways to treat Feng Feiyan’s leg. Though he hadn’t found a solution yet, he was relentlessly trying.

In less than half a month, both Su Yixing and Gong Juechen had attempted to treat Feng Feiyan’s leg numerous times, but unfortunately, her leg still had no sensation at all.

Feng Feiyan simply smiled and said, ”I don’t mind my leg anymore, so please stop worrying, it can’t be healed.”

Back home, her mood had improved; no one in the family looked down on her, they all sympathized with her. She was able to come to terms with the fate of her leg.

Su Yixing immediately said, ”That’s not acceptable! No matter what, I have to try. One day, I might actually cure your leg!”

Even An Jing and others echoed, ”Yes, who knows, one day you might really be healed.”

Even Su Yi Jing said, ”Let him keep treating it, everyone just wants the best for you.”

”Alright.” Feng Feiyan finally nodded, feeling indescribably touched. She knew, even without Su Yi Jing saying it, that her family just wanted her leg to recover, even if there was no way, they would try everything to heal her.

After two hours, Su Yixing applied the ointment to Feng Feiyan, but still, there was no effect.

The New Year came and went in the blink of an eye.

Spring in March arrived quietly.

No matter how many times Su Yixing and Gong Juechen tried to treat Feng Feiyan’s leg, it remained the same, without any sensation.

On this day, Feng Feiyan rolled her wheelchair under the grapevine trellis, enjoying the breeze while looking at the grapevines, feeling very at ease.

Su Yi Jing treated her well, helping her with washing without any complaint, and everyone in the family treated her kindly. She had long accepted the condition of her leg, and now she was quite accustomed to her life, and tried to enjoy it.

If she was genuinely happy, everyone in the family would be happy as well, so why not?

As Feng Feiyan was looking at the grapevines, the sound of horse hooves suddenly rang out sharply, becoming clearer and clearer. Obviously, someone was riding a horse towards her.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi were leisurely tending to the flowers and plants on the other side of the courtyard when they heard the urgent sound of horse hooves. An Jing frowned involuntarily, feeling an uneasy premonition.
