Chapter 2059: Chapter 2060: Is Something Bothering You?

Huo Qingyi shook her head, indicating she didn’t. Actually, she did, but she didn’t want to say a word about it.

Even though Huo Qingyi shook her head, Su Yixing still said, ”You might not have any cravings now, but it doesn’t mean you won’t later. Whenever you feel like eating something, let me know immediately, and I’ll get it for you.”

”Okay.” She nodded obediently. After a moment, she added, ”Husband, I’m a bit sleepy.”

Su Yixing knew that pregnant women tend to get drowsy, so he didn’t think Huo Qingyi was pretending. Instead, he helped her lie down slowly. ”Then take a nap, and I’ll call you when it’s time for dinner.”

”Okay.” Huo Qingyi closed her eyes.

Su Yixing sat by the bed, watching Huo Qingyi. His eyes gradually softened. Thankfully, she wasn’t experiencing morning sickness, or he would be heartbroken.

After sitting for a while longer, Su Yixing finally left the room. With many people at home, there was a lot to do. His eldest brother and third brother were in the courtyard plucking chickens, and he needed to help them.

As soon as Su Yixing gently closed the door after leaving, Huo Qingyi, lying on the bed, opened her eyes.

Gazing anxiously at the door that was now shut, Huo Qingyi turned her back to it and bit her lip uncomfortably. Feeling her eyes start to burn, she quickly closed them, fearful of letting herself cry.

She had never cried and didn’t want to.

But inside, she felt really awful.

...

In the following days, whatever Feng Feiyan and the others were eating, Huo Qingyi, the pregnant woman, ate too, not missing a meal. Yet, surprisingly, Huo Qingyi continued to lose weight.

At first, everyone thought it was because Huo Qingyi was expecting twins. They encouraged her to eat more each meal, but she kept losing weight, growing thinner and thinner.

Su Yixing was frantic.

Everyone else was deeply concerned too.

Su Yixing took Huo Qingyi’s pulse, and Qingyi’s pulse phenomena were increasingly weak, even affecting the baby’s pulse, making it distressingly weak, which greatly alarmed Su Yixing.

”Do you have something on your mind?” The pulse was not only weak but also showed signs of emotional distress. Su Yixing genuinely believed Huo Qingyi was troubled about something. He had asked this question many times in recent days.

Yet Huo Qingyi remained the same as before, smiling obediently and shaking her head, indicating there was nothing wrong in her heart.

”Would you be like this if nothing were wrong?” Previously, when Huo Qingyi shook her head and said nothing was wrong, Su Yixing believed her, trusting she wouldn’t deceive him as her master. But now, seeing no physical illness other than emotional distress, he began to doubt.

Without waiting for Huo Qingyi to speak, Su Yixing continued, ”Sister-in-law Lele and Wen Ya are eating the same as you. Why are you losing so much weight while they’ve gained? There must be something bothering you!”

Huo Qingyi said, ”Husband, there’s really nothing wrong in my heart.”

”You’re still trying to deceive me?!” Su Yixing erupted in anger, his voice thundering. If this continued, he would lose not only the child but also her!

He refused to let her brush it off so easily.

Huo Qingyi didn’t expect Su Yixing to get so angry. She sat there, leaning against the bed, staring blankly at the furious Su Yixing standing by the bedside. After a long moment, her tears started to fall silently, one by one.

Su Yixing had never seen Huo Qingyi cry before; this was the first time. It startled him immensely and worried him greatly. He hurriedly sat at the edge of the bed, soothingly comforting her, ”I didn’t mean to lose my temper at you, but look at what you’ve become. If something’s bothering you, just say it. If you can’t solve it, isn’t that what I’m here for, huh?”
