Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2066: Chapter 2067: She, Eyes Above Her Head

Upon hearing Su Yi Xing say that the family must at least prepare a dowry worth a hundred miles, An Baobei was particularly delighted, but still said haughtily, ”Your preparations are yours, and mine are mine, they’re not related. Second Brother, you mustn’t go back on your word because of this great contribution and give me lots of treasures.”

Su Yi Xing patted her head indulgently, ”You are the treasure of everyone in our family. If I can’t take it back, nobody can. Just rest assured, and tell me whatever treasures you want.”

An Baobei immediately said, ”Then I’ll go make a list right now!”

Saying that, she got up and ran outside, going to her study to make the list of treasures she wanted.

An Jing smiled and smiled, but couldn’t help feeling a bit reluctant, reluctant for her daughter to get married: ”This little treasure is already over eight years old, in a few more years she’ll be able to get married.”

Su Yi Xing chuckled, ”Mother, don’t be sad. Although Baobei is only just over eight, she has high standards. I bet it’ll be a long time before she finds someone to marry, so she can still keep you and Father company for many years.”

”That’s true.” An Jing finally smiled again.

An Jing then reminded Huo Qingyi a few more times to take good care of herself, and if there was anything, just say it and don’t keep it to herself like before, making everyone worry. Huo Qingyi agreed to each point, and only then did An Jing stop saying more and left with Xiao Changyi.

...

Once the misunderstanding was cleared up, Huo Qingyi felt at ease, and with everyone taking extra care of her because she was so skinny, giving her nourishing food, Huo Qingyi soon gained some weight again.

Of course, this weight gain was only relative to before, as she was not actually fat at all.

Feng Feiyan, Gong Le, and Wang Wenya, these three pregnant women, had increasingly divergent food cravings. Pregnancy was so tough, everyone was trying to find ways to satisfy their taste buds, to ensure they ate well, slept well, and felt good.

Also because of this, Su Yi Xing couldn’t help but ask again, ”Qingyi, are you sure there’s nothing specific you crave?”

His wife was expecting twins, so how could she not have any particular cravings?

Without waiting for Huo Qingyi to speak, Su Yi Xing added, ”Promise me you won’t trick me again. Be honest.”

With her big belly, Huo Qingyi nodded as she continued walking slowly at the door, holding Su Yi Xing’s hand. After a while, she smiled and said, ”Actually, I really don’t have any special cravings. It’s just that I see Big Brother putting so much effort into making food for Big Sister-in-law and the others, and I feel a bit envious.”

Su Yi Xing immediately understood and smiled, ”So you want to eat the food I make?”

Huo Qingyi nodded.

Su Yi Xing became a bit troubled, ”I can’t cook at all.” Then, he laughed, ”But it’s okay. Once we finish our walk, I’ll learn from Big Brother and ask him to teach me.”

Huo Qingyi quickly said, ”It’s enough that you have the heart for it. You don’t really need to learn to cook.”

Su Yi Xing immediately replied, ”That won’t do. If my wife wants to eat the food I make, I have to learn a few dishes no matter what.”

Huo Qingyi didn’t say anything more, just smiled.

...

After finishing the walk with Huo Qingyi, Su Yi Xing really asked Su Yi Jing to teach him how to cook.

Fortunately, it was time to cook. The family had two pots; Su Yi Jing used one pot to teach Su Yi Xing to cook while using the other pot to start making lunch for everyone.

Having never cooked before, Su Yi Xing was clumsy, but luckily, with Su Yi Jing guiding him the whole way, the dishes, though they didn’t look too appealing, tasted quite all right.

Once the meal was ready, Su Yi Xing happily brought the dishes to the room for Huo Qingyi to eat.
