The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1594: Chapter 639: Psychological Warfare (Part 2)

Considering Korea’s past history, although many companies here are puppets controlled by Western capital, it is precisely because of this that Korea is especially wary of foreign funds flowing in today.

For something like a cross-border acquisition, in Korea, just the first tax audit process alone could take ten days to half a month...

Then there would be re-evaluation, re-examination, and even filing with Cheongwadae, etc.

Going through all these processes, it is no exaggeration to say that without spending money to pave the way, it could take one or two years just in terms of time, and there might not even be a result.

However, according to Han Suying, Zhou Wang’s acquisition of YG Entertainment was completed in a single day.

A woman like Han Suying, who enjoys the benefits earned by her family without ever doing any real work, would not understand this, but how could Chairman Ding not detect the tricks behind it?

Chairman Ding immediately leveraged his powerful connections and found out some hidden details from an official at the Seoul Tax Bureau.

”Cloud Trust.”

Due to caution, the official didn’t reveal much, but just those four words were enough.

Given Vice President Ding’s level, he naturally knows about this transnational group that emerged out of nowhere six years ago and has now become a huge force in the international financial world.

CJ Group is a giant in Korea, but compared to Cloud Group, it’s probably just slightly stronger than an ant, maybe a ”troublesome insect”?

On the surface, Cloud Trust does not have a branch in Korea, but Ding Junxian knows very well that its covert influence has extended to every corner, such as Tyrant Security, which has countless connections with Cloud Trust.

And Samsung Group, as a strategic partner of Tyrant Security, is also not able to stay completely clean...

Upon finding out that Zhou Wang has some sort of connection with Cloud Trust, his relationship with Charles also seems to fall into place.

In fact, even without these backgrounds, the relationship displayed by Charles and Zhou Wang was enough to pierce Han Suying’s heart with a thousand arrows, leaving her annoyed.

But with these confirmations, it only quashes her last unrealistic hope...

Seeing Zhou Wang and Charles appear, chatting and laughing, with Ding Junxian frantically signaling with his eyes, Han Suying quickly stepped forward and, without saying a word, bowed deeply.

Zhou Wang stopped in his tracks, gazing at her with a cold expression.

Having already reached an understanding with Zhou Wang, Charles did not speak, just stood by watching the scene as if enjoying a show.

Unable to wait for Zhou Wang to speak first, the bent-over Han Suying could only bite her lip and, with a slightly trembling voice, stare at the tip of Zhou Wang’s shoes and say:

”I’m sorry, Chairman Zhou Wang, I was ignorant and reckless before, and I should not—should not have threatened you. Please... please forgive me!”

The surroundings fell silent.

Under the eyes of all, Zhou Wang remained silent for a long time. With each passing second, the humiliation in Han Suying’s heart grew stronger, and gradually, her waist and back became immensely sore, but she did not dare to move at all.

Not knowing how much time had passed, just as Han Suying’s face turned a pale blue, Zhou Wang’s regretful sneer finally reached her ears.

”What a pity, Charles, your timing is just awful. I was waiting for Mrs. Han to teach me the etiquette and rules of Korea. Judging by Madam’s earlier arrogance and current humility, this lesson seems to have slipped away.”

After saying that, Zhou Wang walked forward with Jin Zhixiu.

Seeing Zhou Wang leave with those words, Han Suying, who was once again mocked and her face flushed red, grew somewhat anxious and quickly raised her head to catch up a couple of steps.

”Chairman Zhou, have you... have you forgiven me?”

Zhou Wang paused for a moment.

”Let me teach Madam a simple truth... If apologies were useful, what would we need the police for?”

After finishing his words, Zhou Wang walked away without looking back.

At this moment, Han Suying remembered something, glanced around, but from beginning to end, Charles, who hadn’t said a word, had already slipped into the Rolls-Royce that had arrived in advance, with no intention of paying her any attention.

Standing there, only the pale-faced Han Suying and the perplexed CJ Group executives were left.

...

Zhou Wang replied to Charles’ dinner invitation for the next day on his phone, then turned to see Jin Zhixiu staring at him as if wanting to say something but held back. He laughed and said:

”If you dare to disclose a word to Jennie, I’ll spank your little butt until it’s swollen.”

Jin Zhixiu instantly felt a tightness in her rear and said with some guilt, ”Who... who said I’m going to snitch?”

Though she said that, she unconsciously put away the phone she had intended to take out.

Before long, the two reached the parking lot, where Xiao Wang and Gao Xing were already waiting by the car doors. Seeing Zhou Wang pulling her towards the car, Jin Zhixiu became immediately wary.

”You... where are you taking me? I’m telling you, I’m not going anywhere with you...”

”I’m planning to send you home. Don’t you intend to go back?”

Zhou Wang looked at her with surprise.

Jin Zhixiu’s face instantly stiffened, not daring to meet Zhou Wang’s eyes, and quickly got into the car.

Zhou Wang shook his head with a laugh, got into the car, and then instructed Xiao Wang, ”To Itaewon.”

Xiao Wang responded, slowly starting the vehicle.

Upon hearing that her home was indeed the destination, Jin Zhixiu’s doubts were dispelled, but her feelings were inexplicably complex.

So today, Zhou Wang... really had no intention of doing anything more with her—cough, of taking her to do anything else?

It’s indeed still early

Even now, although they were both sitting in the back seat, Zhou Wang maintained a distance from her, not even extending a hand.

Looking back carefully, from the moment they met today until now, Zhou Wang had been well-behaved; except for stealing a quick kiss on her lips during lunch, there seemed to be no other inappropriate actions.

For no apparent reason, a hint of resentment started growing in Jin Zhixiu’s heart.

Moreover, at this moment, as the vehicle started heading towards Itaewon, Zhou Wang also seemed to lose interest in conversing with her, merely listening to the music coming from the Bluetooth, occasionally humming a few lines, appearing relaxed and content.

This made the resentment and inexplicable sense of grievance in Jin Zhixiu’s heart silently deepen.

She also kept a cold face, not saying a word, maintaining a strong aura of a cool and aloof ”queen”, but the occasional pursing of her lips and slightly trembling eyelashes revealed that her heart was not quite so calm.

God knows how long it took, the vehicle finally stopped below a luxury apartment near Itaewon.

”I’ve arrived.”

Jin Zhixiu strived to maintain her composure, not allowing her voice to tremble at all.

”Okay.”

Not speaking the entire way was one thing, but to even part so indifferently?

Jin Zhixiu could hardly believe it.

Was this the same man who, just last night, was lost in desire, burying his head in her neck and greedily taking?

Jin Zhixiu pursed her lips tightly, lifted her head up high, then pulled her scarf up to cover her face, quickly opening the car door, sprinting into the apartment.

Taking the elevator to the 19th floor, Jin Zhixiu hurried to her door, wrist trembling as she dug through her bag for her keys, yet the keys that were usually easy to pull out now seemed elusive, and when she finally found them, they fell to the ground with a clatter.

Jin Zhixiu could no longer hold back her surging tears, sobbing as she bent down to pick up the keys, but a hand was faster.

”Thank you.”

On instinct, Jin Zhixiu took the keys. It wasn’t until she inserted them into the door that she suddenly realized, her body freezing in place.

Bit by bit, Jin Zhixiu turned her neck, and saw that extremely annoying smiling face.

”You live alone, right?”

Zhou Wang asked with a smile.

Still sniffling, Jin Zhixiu nodded subconsciously, but before she could voice her challenge, Zhou Wang wickedly pushed her, causing her to stagger back through the door.

Bang!

Her body hit the wall, her scarf was roughly torn away; her rosy lips were immediately blocked, engulfed by a tidal wave of possessiveness that suffocated her. Yet, in her final act, she threw her arms around Zhou Wang’s neck with such force that faint marks appeared on the back of his neck...
