Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The Abyssal Demons’ sudden withdrawal put the Dragonkind in a passive position.

Though the humans did not launch a counterattack and pursue, the Dragonkind no longer had the momentum to fight alone and were forced into a reluctant retreat.

Jiang Yi’s reappearance only made things worse for them, striking the Dragonkind like a hammer blow.

In the Abyss, outside the Demon Emperor’s Palace, the Dragon Emperor arrived and roared furiously, causing the Abyssal Fire to tremble violently.

“Demon Emperor, what is the meaning of this? Why did you withdraw your troops?”

The Demon Emperor did not appear. His voice drifted from the depths of the palace.

“Our plan failed. What else was there to do but retreat?”

The Dragon Emperor snapped, “Even if the ambush on Lin Moyu failed, our combined forces could still have driven the humans out of the Dimensional Battlefield!”

The Demon Emperor sneered, “Have you lost your mind? Jiang Yi is back.”

The Dragon Emperor stiffened. After a moment, he recalled the name.

Over 700 years ago, Jiang Yi had risen to lead the human race.

Over 600 years ago, he was besieged by dozens of Demon Kings and ultimately fell.

At the time, the Dragonkind had been isolated from the Dimensional Battlefield; the Dragon Emperor knew only the legend, not the details.

“Jiang Yi? Isn’t he dead?”

The Demon Emperor replied, “He was dead, but not completely. Now he has resurrected.”

“That’s impossible!” The Dragon Emperor exclaimed.

Even at his level, he had never heard of someone resurrecting after 600 years.

The Demon Emperor said, “I don’t know how he came back, but it definitely involves that person. If you’re curious, go ask. He isn’t hard to find.”

The Dragon Emperor shuddered.

Ask Antares? Was that a joke?

As long as he remained within the Dragonkind World, Antares would not bother killing him.

But if he dared step into the upper layer and present himself before Antares, he would likely be reduced to ashes with a single breath attack.

The Demon Emperor went on, “Regardless, Jiang Yi is back, standing at peak level 98—half-step Transcendent God-level. Although slightly weaker than you or me, but not by much.”

“With him around, attacking the humans is meaningless.”

The Demon Emperor was right.

With a half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse guarding humanity and a being like Antares looming above all, driving the humans from the Dimensional Battlefield—let alone annihilating them—was a fantasy.

And there was also Lin Moyu, an existence far too strange to predict.

The Dragon Emperor gritted his teeth, “I thought that with Emperor Di gone, we could drive the humans out of the Dimensional Battlefield and suppress them once and for all.”

“I never expected this outcome.”

Furious yet helpless, he departed the Abyss without another word.

The Abyssal Fire flared brighter. Seated upon his throne, the Demon Emperor’s expression was complicated.

“Fool. He doesn’t even understand his own position, yet he dreams of suppressing the humans.”

“We are just chess pieces. Does he not understand that? If you are a piece, then play your part.”

“Move when you must. Lie low when you must. Surrender when you must. Survival outweighs everything.”

“I can’t keep waiting. I must find a way to survive.”

“But the hatred between us and the humans… that cannot be erased. What a headache.”

The Abyssal Fire surged violently, swallowing the palace whole. The Demon Emperor’s voice faded into silence.

…

Inside the imperial palace, Meng Anwen stated his purpose without preamble.

Dongfang Yi responded at once, ordering all records concerning Jiang Yi and the Demon-Slaying Sword to be brought forth.

As the oldest lineage in the Shenxia Empire, the imperial family preserved archives dating back to the nation’s founding.

Meng Anwen and Lin Moyu began reviewing the documents.

Jiang Yi’s life was recorded in meticulous detail, including information never made public—most notably, the origin of the Demon-Slaying Sword.

The sword had been forged from a celestial metal Jiang Yi discovered by chance.

Detection identified it as a peak-tier mythical-grade material known as Daemetal.

In Jiang Yi’s era, no God-level Blacksmiths existed. Yet such a treasure could not be wasted.

Several peak-level Blacksmiths joined forces and devised a solution: refine the Daemetal using Demon King lifeblood.

At the time, war between the Abyssal Demons and humanity raged incessantly, making Demon King lifeblood attainable.

During several major battles, Jiang Yi collected the lifeblood of five Demon Kings.

With it, the Blacksmiths finally melted the Daemetal and forged the Demon-Slaying Sword.

Unfortunately, without a God-level Blacksmith involved, the finished weapon, despite its mythical-grade material, reached only peak-tier legendary-grade.

Even so, the Demon-Slaying Sword became Jiang Yi’s signature weapon.

With it, Jiang Yi’s combat power soared, and he dominated the battlefields, until he was relentlessly targeted by the Demons and ultimately died of exhaustion in a great battle.

In truth, Jiang Yi had not truly perished. More than 600 years later, through Lin Moyu’s hand and the immense power of Antares, he was resurrected.

Yet after his revival, a problem emerged, and its root seemed to lie with the Demon-Slaying Sword.

Lin Moyu trusted that Antares could not be mistaken.

“The records don’t contain detailed information about that piece of Daemetal.” Lin Moyu said quietly.

The records confirmed only that it was a mythical-grade celestial material; its specific properties were not recorded.

Meng Anwen asked, “Could Sir know?”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “He doesn’t.”

To Antares, a mere mythical-grade material held no significance.

After a moment’s thought, Lin Moyu said, “According to the records, one of the five peak-level Blacksmiths who forged the Demon-Slaying Sword—Dongfang Jin—was from the imperial family, correct?”

Dongfang Yi quickly located the relevant documents, “Yes, he was.”

“Can you gather all information about him, including any notebooks or diaries he left behind?”

The imperial family had preserved documents meticulously, major records and trivial notes alike.

It was an invaluable habit.

Dongfang Yi readily agreed, though the retrieval would take some time.

The imperial family lacked neither manpower nor efficiency. Within half an hour, all documents related to Dongfang Jin were delivered.

Dongfang Jin had faithfully upheld the imperial family tradition. He recorded most of his life’s work.

A level 88 peak-level Blacksmith, his greatest regret was never becoming a God-level Blacksmith.

His proudest achievement was forging the Demon-Slaying Sword.

In his diary, Lin Moyu finally found a crucial entry concerning the Daemetal.

“Teacher, look at this passage.”

Lin Moyu handed the record to Meng Anwen.

After reading it, Meng Anwen’s expression shifted subtly, “So that’s how it is.”

Sensing the tension, Dongfang Yi asked, “Serene God, Godly General Lin, is something wrong?”

Meng Anwen glanced around. Understanding the unspoken cue, Dongfang Yi dismissed all attendants.

With a flick of his finger, Meng Anwen erected a simple soundproof formation.

Meng Anwen said, “According to Dongfang Jin’s records, the primary material of the Demon-Slaying Sword—the mythical-grade Daemetal—possesses the ability to bewitch the mind. It induces irritability… even bloodlust.”

“There was once a lower-level class user who, after being affected by the Daemetal, committed murder.”

“Even peak-level class users must handle it with extreme caution.”
