Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Experience was like bedrock, steadily reinforcing Lin Moyu’s convictions.

The stronger the enemy, the firmer his resolve to grow powerful.

Ambition neither faded nor could it be crushed.

Inside Shenxia City, once known as the GodSlaying Fortress, a teleportation formation flared to life. Meng Anwen and Feng Tianzong stepped out the together.

After the previous incident, Feng Yiming had reported back to the military.

Upon receiving the news, Feng Tianzong, the current patriarch of the Feng Family and the Sword God of this era, immediately contacted Meng Anwen.

Together, they ventured into the deep layer, located a spatial passage leading to the lower layer, and used the Shenxia Tower’s teleportation function to arrive directly at Shenxia City.

Without unleashing their full strength, they could remain here for roughly an hour.

Gazing at the Shenxia Tower, which had not yet been put away, Feng Tianzong clicked his tongue in admiration.

“Old Meng, why does your Shenxia Tower feel stronger than before?”

Meng Anwen smiled faintly, “It has indeed grown somewhat stronger.”

A trace of envy crossed Feng Tianzong’s eyes, “That figures. You’re already level 96—getting stronger is only natural.”

“You won’t be far behind.” Meng Anwen replied.

Feng Tianzong laughed loudly, “All thanks to that outstanding disciple of yours.”

A faint law aura already seeped from Feng Tianzong’s body. He had begun touching the threshold of law and was not far from level 96 himself.

Pride glimmered in his eyes. For countless generations, the Feng Family had never produced a high-tier God-level expert.

He was destined to become the first, the one who would rewrite the Feng Family’s history.

Meng Anwen remained silent, his gaze drifting back to the Shenxia Tower.

The tower’s advancement had nothing to do with his own progress. The true cause was the Blood Divine Disk.

Through analyzing, studying, and imitating the disk, he had finally discovered a path to elevate the Shenxia Tower further.

Combined with the immense quantity of quasi-legendary-grade and some legendary-grade materials Lin Moyu had brought back, upgrading the tower had become possible.

A God-level tower possessed the potential to advance to legendary-grade and even mythical-grade.

All of it traced back to Lin Moyu.

Meng Anwen often told Bai Yiyuan that the best decision he had ever made was taking Lin Moyu as his disciple.

It had been a long time since he last visited Shenxia City. A hint of nostalgia surfaced in his eyes.

Feng Tianzong sighed, “I still remember when we first explored the lower layer, escaping death time and time again?”

“Many years have passed, and the city is livelier than ever.” Meng Anwen said.

Feng Tianzong nodded, “Shenxia City gives our human race a firm foothold in the lower layer.”

“And its role goes far beyond that. The three towers of the Shenxia Empire were all modeled after the Thunderclap Tower.”

A strange look crossed Feng Tianzong’s face, “Yet despite sharing the same origin, their functions are completely different.”

“I’ve never understood that either.” Meng Anwen said, shaking his head.

The Trial Tower, the Shenxia Tower, and the Demon Extermination Tower were all imitations of the Thunderclap Tower.

Yet their effects differed vastly. Each was incomparably powerful. Rated legendary-grade, they represented the pinnacle of equipment of the Shenxia Empire.

As for the original Thunderclap Tower, its true grade remained unknown. They had grasped only a fragment of its secrets.

But that fragment alone was more than sufficient.

Feng Yiming hurried over and bowed respectfully, “Greetings, Patriarch! Greetings, Serene God!”

“We don’t have much time. Explain everything clearly.”

Feng Yiming immediately recounted the events of the day.

The moment he finished, Meng Anwen shot skyward like a rocket.

A fluid aura enveloped him. It was law aura.

The law he commanded was the law of formations. Infinitely adaptable, it could transform into countless forms at his will.

Now, it took shape as wings, propelling him forward at lightning speed.

In a single second, Meng Anwen reached 50,000 meters in the air—the very boundary of the lower layer.

Beyond lay the space barrier; past that, the unknown.

He had once attempted to cross it and returned severely injured. Outside was violent space turbulence so terrifying that it had nearly torn him apart.

Two seconds later, Feng Tianzong followed.

Compared to Meng Anwen, his speed was clearly inferior.

Envy flickered in his eyes. This was the gap between level 95 and level 96. Just one level, yet the difference was vast as heaven and earth.

Meng Anwen carefully sensed the surroundings, “This should be the origin of the lightning element. I can feel traces of an unimaginably vast concentration of the lightning element once existing here. Judging by its scale and intensity, even you and I would have died if we’d been caught in it.”

Feng Tianzong asked, “Can you tell whether it was artificially created or a natural phenomenon?”

Meng Anwen stared at the space barrier. It had fully repaired itself, leaving no clear evidence behind.

After a moment, he shook his head, “Hard to tell.”

“Yiming mentioned that Godly General Lin was present.” Feng Tianzong said, “He should know more. Let’s go ask him.”

The two descended together.

Feng Tianzong asked, “What exactly did Godly General Lin say at the time?”

Feng Yiming answered honestly, “Godly General Lin said that if I wanted to know more, I should hurry up and grow stronger.”

He added nothing of his own, simply relaying Lin Moyu’s words verbatim.

Feng Tianzong said, “Then it seems Godly General Lin likely knows something.”

Meng Anwen nodded, “I’ll ask him later. Commander Feng, raise the Thunderclap Tower. I want to take a look inside.”

Feng Yiming obeyed at once, lifting the tower.

Meng Anwen entered and went straight to its core, attempting to establish communication.

Several minutes passed before Meng Anwen emerged, shaking his head, “The core refuses to communicate with me.”

Feng Tianzong was taken aback, “Why?”

“I don’t know.” Meng Anwen replied, “Moyu will probably have the answer.”

“Fair enough. We’ll ask Godly General Lin later.”

The investigation ended without results, but from Feng Yiming’s account, it was clear that something abnormal had occurred.

Meng Anwen looked up at the sky, “I hope this isn’t a bad omen.”

…

At the Kunlun Mountain, snowstorms had raged without pause for a millennium.

At times, an inexplicable sorrow seemed to seep into the blizzard, as though a God were quietly weeping.

Over time, people spun numerous legends around this phenomenon.

Lin Moyu suspected the truth was simpler and sadder. It was likely the Kunlun Great God mourning his wife.

The Kunlun Great God’s true body lay in deep slumber, while his consciousness transformed into an elemental form.

Such a state made the pain sharper.

Had he remained in a true sleep, there would have been no suffering at all.

For thousands of years, he had searched for someone capable of retrieving his wife’s godhead.

Yet time passed, era after era, and he found no one.

Lin Moyu understood that gnawing urgency, that unwillingness to let go.

Once more, Lin Moyu ascended the Kunlun Mountain.

This time, he moved with astonishing speed, nearly sprinting toward the summit.

Along the way, many saw him and revealed mocking smiles.

Running on the Kunlun Mountain peak was foolish.

The higher one climbed, the heavier the pressure became.

Most struggled just to take a single step forward—no one ran.

No one except Lin Moyu.

He ignored the pressure and reached the summit at full speed.

Instead of entering the dungeon, he took out the God of Holy Melody’s wind chime.

At first, its sound was soft and faint. Then it spread, carried by the blizzard, expanding in an instant until it echoed across the entire Kunlun Mountain.

In the encampments below, class users heard the sound.

“Where is that sound coming from?”

“It’s so beautiful… like music.”

“Why do I suddenly feel fired up? I want to dive into a dungeon and fight!”

“No… it sounds sad to me. I feel strangely heartbroken.”

Discussion erupted everywhere, filled with awe and confusion. Everyone reacted differently.

Lin Moyu merely rang the chime; the sound carried no soul melody.

Yet every listener heard a different meaning.

The brave felt their fighting spirit surge.

The timid felt fear.

Those burdened by sorrow were overwhelmed by sadness.

Those with gentle hearts felt compassion for all things.

…

Suddenly, someone pointed toward the Kunlun Mountain peak.

“Look! There’s a palace at the summit!”

Before their eyes, an exquisite palace emerged from the mist atop the Kunlun Mountain peak.

The Kunlun Divine Palace revealed itself amid mist.

The perpetual snowstorm halted abruptly, and countless rays of dazzling light poured down from the heavens, bathing the palace in breathtaking splendor.

Everyone stood frozen in shock. Such a sight had never been seen before.

“So the divine palace really exists…”

“The Kunlun Divine Palace! It’s real!”

“The legends were true. A God truly dwells there.”

“I want to go up and take a look.”

Amazement rippled through the crowds.

Then they saw a lone figure fly straight into the Kunlun Divine Palace.

Their astonishment deepened into disbelief.

In an instant, the Kunlun Mountain erupted into chaos as countless class users began charging uphill, desperate to enter the Kunlun Divine Palace.
