Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Just as the Kunlun Great God had said, Kunlun Snow Grass possessed miraculous properties. It could absorb element to grow and reproduce.

It could absorb any single element, seemingly converting it directly into the energy it needed.

Its only requirement was purity.

Kunlun Snow Grass could not absorb multiple elements at once—only one type at a time.

The purer the element, the faster the absorption, and the more astonishing its growth and reproduction became.

After being uprooted, the Kunlun Snow Grass King had shriveled up.

Now, replanted in soil and bathed in the extremely pure lightning element, it immediately burst forth with vitality.

The Kunlun Snow Grass King stood about half a meter tall, as thick as half a fist.

In the Kunlun Mountain, its entire body had been icy white.

Now, saturated with the lightning element, it glowed a brilliant blue, the lightning element constantly coursing across its surface.

A tiny, downy young leaf began to sprout.

It grew at a visible pace. Within two hours, the leaf expanded from fingernail-sized to half a finger in length.

As the aura of life flourished before him, Lin Moyu watched intently, his curiosity steadily deepening.

A vague yet profound sensation stirred within him, as though he were witnessing a fundamental truth being quietly narrated.

Half a day later, the tender leaf had grown to the size of a palm.

Then, it detached from the Kunlun Snow Grass King and burrowed into the soil on its own. Like seed that had already sprouted, it separated from the mother plant and took root, growing vigorously in the earth.

Another half-day passed.

The detached leaf had fully transformed into a stalk of Kunlun Snow Grass, indistinguishable from the Kunlun Snow Grass Lin Moyu had obtained from the dungeon.

A scan with his Detection spell confirmed it—there was no difference whatsoever.

[Kunlun Snow Grass: bonus reward from the Kunlun Divine Palace dungeon (early stage). Grants +1 level if used below level 80, +2 levels if used below level 70, and +3 levels if used below level 60.]

In just a single day, a complete Kunlun Snow Grass had split off.

If this process could be repeated endlessly, leveling up would become absurdly simple.

One could theoretically consume Kunlun Snow Grass all the way to level 80.

Yet Lin Moyu was certain it wouldn’t be so straightforward. If it were truly that easy, it would be far too heaven-defying.

A day later, another young leaf emerged from the Kunlun Snow Grass King, and a second Kunlun Snow Grass began to form.

Lin Moyu controlled the Thunderclap Tower’s outer core, continuously releasing the lightning element to nourish the Kunlun Snow Grass King.

Days passed.

Again and again, Lin Moyu observed the cycle of birth, growth, and separation.

Gradually, he entered a state of deep comprehension, grasping something fundamental.

The birth of life, reproduction, growth, fruition...

This miraculous cycle contained an ultimate truth of heaven and earth.

From insects and ants to humans and Dragons, all life followed this supreme truth.

A sudden roar echoed within Lin Moyu’s soul.

His soul rank surged forward, taking a massive step toward level 93.

At the same time, a mysterious aura appeared in his palm.

Lin Moyu snapped awake. The aura vanished instantly.

“That was… law?” Lin Moyu stood frozen in shock.

Though it had existed for less than half a second, it was unmistakably real.

In that fleeting moment, a law had truly manifested in his hand—the law of life.

It was unbelievable.

He was only level 76. Even his soul rank was merely level 92. How could he possibly touch law?

Moreover, his class revolved around the undead. If anything, he should have comprehended a destructive law. How could it be the law of life?

Yet there was no mistake. His senses would not deceive him.

“Could it be… that one doesn’t actually need to reach level 96 to grasp a law?”

“That as long as one can comprehend it, a law can be grasped regardless?”

Lin Moyu was seized with the urge to ask Antares immediately.

But he forcibly suppressed his agitation and turned his attention back to the Kunlun Snow Grass King, hoping to recapture that fleeting state.

Unfortunately, it was gone.

Though he appeared calm, his heart churned violently. His mind could no longer settle.

The previous clarity slipped further away with each passing moment, until it became completely unreachable.

Lin Moyu let out a soft sigh and gave up.

“Moyu.” Meng Anwen’s voice sounded beside him.

Lin Moyu turned, “Teacher, you’re back.”

Meng Anwen nodded, then glanced at the nearby mountain of weapons and equipment, surprise flickering in his eyes, “Did you go restocking at the Kunlun Divine Palace?”

It was rare for Meng Anwen to joke.

Lin Moyu laughed, “Teacher, you’re teasing me.”

Meng Anwen waved him over, “Come. Have some tea. There are things I want to ask you.”

Lin Moyu brewed the tea and poured them each a cup. As the warmth flowed down his throat, his heart steadied slightly, though only on the surface.

His thoughts were still consumed by the law of life.

Meng Anwen asked, “Tell me everything you know about what happened in Shenxia City a few days ago.”

Lin Moyu said, “Teacher, did you go to Shenxia City?”

Meng Anwen took a sip of tea, “Yes. Old Feng and I went together, but our investigation turned up nothing.”

“Shenxia City is of vital importance to the human race. Any anomaly must be examined thoroughly.”

That importance went without saying.

Since Meng Anwen had asked directly, Lin Moyu could not refuse.

He carefully sorted through his memories, weighing which truths could be revealed and which should remain buried.

After a moment, he said slowly, “Teacher, some of what I’m about to say may be difficult to accept. You’ll need to be prepared.”

Meng Anwen chuckled, “You underestimate me. I’ve fought my way through rivers of blood—what could possibly shock me now?”

Lin Moyu lowered his voice, “Then I’ll speak. You should know this first… Shenxia City does not actually belong to the human race.”

Meng Anwen’s eyes widened instantly.

He had considered numerous possibilities, like the Abyssal Demons or the Dragokind using some forbidden technique.

But this had never crossed his mind.

Still, he quickly regained his composure. After another sip of tea, he gestured for Lin Moyu to continue.

Lin Moyu carried on, “1,000 years ago, before the Shenxia Empire was founded, Shenxia City descended from beyond the world and fell into the lower layer.”

“It was later discovered by an ancestor of the Shenxia Empire, who earned the city’s recognition. That is why humanity has been able to use it until now.”

“This time, a powerful existence from beyond the world forcibly tore through the space barrier, attempting to reclaim Shenxia City.”

The more Meng Anwen listened, the more unsettled he became. It sounded like myth or legend.

Though Meng Anwen stood at the pinnacle of the human race, he had not yet reached half-step Transcendent God-level.

Many truths of history were inaccessible to those below that threshold.

After the ancient, world-shattering war, humanity’s ancestors had made a pact with the surviving Gods and established a “gate.”

Only half-step Transcendent God-level could open it.

Beyond that gate lay an entirely different world.

Meng Anwen drained three cups of hot tea in succession before finally speaking, “What exactly do you mean by beyond the world?”

Lin Moyu explained, “Beyond our Human World, there is a vaster world.”

Meng Anwen pressed further, “You mean the Abyss? The Dragokind World? The Dreadland?”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “None of those. They are merely sub-worlds—independent spaces attached to the Human World. Large, yes, but still independent spaces.”

“What I call beyond the world is the true greater world.”

“If the greater world is an ocean, then our Human World is just a solitary island. And in that ocean, there are countless such islands.”

“The Abyss and similar realms are merely reefs beside the islands, differing only in size and form.”

Meng Anwen fell silent, deep in thought.

Lin Moyu understood how overwhelming this revelation was.

Long-held beliefs did not crumble easily.

Unlike Meng Anwen, Lin Moyu had lived two lives and seen the vastness of the universe; such concepts came naturally to him.

Still, he believed Meng Anwen would accept the truth, and it wouldn’t take long.
