Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The Kunlun Great God began recounting his past to Lin Moyu.

Snow started falling once more, and the biting wind seemed to warm as it brushed against the Kunlun Great God, stirred by his fervent emotions.

As he spoke, his gaze would occasionally drift toward the rear of the palace.

Lin Moyu sensed that if he weren’t present, the Kunlun Great God would have already gone over to accompany the God of Holy Melody.

Every gesture and every word revealed the depth of their bond—unchanged even after several thousand years.

The story slowly unfolded.

When the great war erupted in ancient times, the previous Kunlun Great God and God of Holy Melody both fell, leaving behind two godheads.

After extensive testing, a human couple was discovered to be perfectly compatible.

Husband and wife, they inherited the godheads and successfully ascended, transforming from humans into Gods.

In that time, the humans and the Gods stood united, devoting all their strength to resisting an external calamity.

Defeat meant extinction. It was a struggle for survival where reason had no place.

That was his past.

As for the Kunlun Divine Palace, the dungeon had already existed during his predecessor’s time.

Lin Moyu hadn’t expected the Kunlun Divine Palace’s history to stretch back so far.

From the Kunlun Great God’s account, he gradually pieced together the timeline.

The Kunlun Divine Palace could be traced back to the previous age.

In fact, all three dungeons were relics of an age.

That age had been far more glorious than the present one, its overall power vastly superior.

Combined with Lin Moyu’s experience in the Divine Stone Dungeon, he couldn’t help but speculate: perhaps behind the Kunlun Divine Palace lay a facility capable of continuously producing quasi-legendary-grade equipment.

Or perhaps there was a warehouse of unimaginable scale.

Any other possibilities were likely so advanced that he couldn’t fathom them, no matter how far he stretched his imagination.

Whatever the truth, the Kunlun Divine Palace appeared nothing short of miraculous.

Lin Moyu set those thoughts aside.

With a wave of his hand, the Kunlun Great God summoned a Kunlun Snow Grass King.

There were two of them; though similar in appearance, they differed in size and quality.

The one presented to Lin Moyu was clearly superior.

“Take a look. You should like it.” The Kunlun Great God said.

The Kunlun Snow Grass King stood half a meter tall, far larger than ordinary Kunlun Snow Grass, which was no bigger than a palm.

Lin Moyu activated the Detection spell, and his pupils contracted in shock.

[Kunlun Snow Grass King (1,200 years old): consuming it at level 92 increases level by one, consuming it at level 90 increases level by two; consuming it at level 88 allows one to ascend to God-level in a single step.]

Lin Moyu understood better than most how difficult progress became after reaching God-level.

Advancement was tied to soul enhancement, which was notoriously slow.

Since his soul rank reached level 92, its growth had nearly stagnated.

Level 93 felt impossibly distant.

Even with the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal, improvement required relentless daily effort.

The Dragons were indifferent to time—though their treasures were supreme, their efficiency was low.

Antares had once explained that the Dragons favored stability and patience.

At his current pace, even with the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal, it would take one or two years for his soul rank to reach level 93.

Unless he encountered extraordinary luck or sudden enlightenment.

For example, a few more cups of that old man’s nameless tea.

Staring at the Kunlun Snow Grass King, Lin Moyu felt temptation stir.

Should he consume it?

Doing so would immediately raise him to level 93, greatly increasing his combat power.

Yet, in truth, it would only save him a year or two.

Seeing his hesitation, the Kunlun Great God smiled, “Over the years, I’ve had little to do besides tending flowers and plants.”

“I discovered that this Kunlun Snow Grass King has other uses.”

Lin Moyu looked up, “What uses?”

“You can plant it. Once rooted, it will continuously produce Kunlun Snow Grass. And there’s even a chance it could give rise to another Kunlun Snow Grass King.”

The Kunlun Great God gestured toward his garden. Every Kunlun Snow Grass there, including the other Kunlun Snow Grass King, had originated in this way.

Lin Moyu asked, “How do I plant it? And how long does it take before new Kunlun Snow Grass grows?”

The Kunlun Great God pondered briefly, “That depends on elemental density. Kunlun Snow Grass reproduces by absorbing the elements. The richer and purer the elements, the faster it multiplies.”

“If you can find a place with extremely dense and pure elements, you could harvest a new batch in less than a year.”

“Actually, this isn’t the best Kunlun Snow Grass King I’ve seen.”

The Kunlun Great God went on to recount another incident.

About 200 years earlier, he had awakened from slumber to find a Kunlun Snow Grass King on the verge of reaching godhood.

Severely injured at the time, he feared that the unpredictable Kunlun Snow Grass King might bring disaster if it ascended to godhood within the Kunlun Divine Palace.

Yet he was unwilling to destroy it, since achieving godhood was no small feat.

So, he placed it within the early stage Kunlun Divine Palace dungeon.

As expected, the Kunlun Snow Grass King eventually took human form and ascended to godhood, calling itself the Kunlun Snow God.

In the end, it had fallen by Lin Moyu’s hand.

Lin Moyu hadn’t expected such a twist of fate.

After hearing the Kunlun Great God’s explanation, Lin Moyu immediately settled on a long-term approach.

Rather than consuming it himself, he would plant it.

As for the location, he already had a perfect choice.

The Kunlun Snow Grass King could absorb different elements, and the higher the purity and concentration, the better.

What place could surpass the Thunderclap Tower?

He still possessed the Thunderclap Tower’s outer core and had personally witnessed its release of the lightning element.

While Lin Moyu knew he couldn’t match the power wielded by the expert from outside the world, even 10% would be more than sufficient.

He carefully stored the Kunlun Snow Grass King.

The transaction had concluded, and he was very satisfied.

The Kunlun Snow Grass was a genuine treasure. If it could be cultivated on a large scale, it would become a vital asset not only to him, but to the entire human race.

Sensing the Kunlun Great God’s growing impatience, clearly eager to return to his wife, Lin Moyu wisely chose not to linger.

He took his leave and vanished without another word.

After exiting the Kunlun Divine Palace, Lin Moyu didn’t immediately depart the Kunlun Mountain. Instead, he plunged straight into the late stage Kunlun Divine Palace dungeon.

Since he had come all this way, leaving without restocking would be a waste.

Once again, Lin Moyu became a true dungeon-slaughtering machine, sweeping through everything in his path.

At level 76, his undead army—over 200,000 strong—flooded the dungeon like a locust swarm.

Where others struggled against endless monster hordes, Lin Moyu reversed the equation, using sheer numbers to annihilate them.

Every monster was instantly surrounded by at least 100 Undead Knights and Skeletal Berserk Warriors, while even more skeletons unleashed attacks from afar.

If the monsters could speak, they would surely curse Lin Moyu until they spat blood.

This was outright bullying.

As for the leaders, the Skeletal King stepped in and finished them in two strikes.

Even the world rank boss, the Kunlun Giant Eagle, received no special treatment.

His justification? He was in a hurry.

His efficiency had noticeably improved.

A dungeon run that once took 30 minutes now required only 25.

In just half a day, his storage space was filled once more.

With his spoils secured, Lin Moyu finally left the Kunlun Mountain.

The White God Courtyard was deserted.

Lin Moyu found this odd, but although no one was present, the kettle was still steaming.

A formation left by Meng Anwen kept the water boiling, continuously drawing in the water element to prevent it from running dry.

Lin Moyu emptied his storage space, dumping his gains onto the ground.

Nearly 1,000 pieces of equipment formed a small mountain, including close to 100 pieces from the Kunlun set.

With enough time, he was confident he could assemble a complete Kunlun set with matching attributes.

With his storage space cleared, his attention returned to the Kunlun Snow Grass King.

To grow and propagate, it required an enormous supply of element.

Its greatest strength was its versatility. It could absorb different kinds of elements, though it had to be a single type at any given time, not a chaotic mix.

When the Kunlun Great God cultivated it, he had used life force, which could also be considered a type of element.

Lin Moyu, however, didn’t have such an abundance of life force to spare.

He took out the Kunlun Snow Grass King, selected an empty patch of ground, and planted it.

Then, he retrieved the Thunderclap Tower’s outer core.

Having already imprinted his soul brand onto it, he could now control a small portion of its power.

At his command, the lightning element from heaven and earth converged, was refined by the tower, and released.

The Kunlun Snow Grass King instantly responded, straightening as if revived, greedily drawing the lightning element into its body.
