Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Lin Moyu enumerated several flaws of Shenxia City.

There was no denying it—despite its overwhelming power, the city was riddled with shortcomings.

Antares’s expression turned solemn, “Actually, the shortcomings you mentioned… they don’t really exist.”

“They don’t?” Lin Moyu frowned in confusion.

Antares explained, “What you’ve seen is Shenxia City after it was beaten into near ruin.”

“Shencia City is an excellent war weapon. It has another name.”

Antares deliberately paused, clearly enjoying himself, before adding slowly, “Care to guess?”

Lin Moyu suddenly felt the urge to smash him with a Corpse Explosion. Had this guy really been corrupted by hanging around him?

He shot Antares a fierce glare, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles cracked.

Antares chuckled, “Alright, alright. I’ll stop teasing. Its other name is the Godslaying Fortress.”

“And the ‘God’ it refers to isn’t God-level experts.”

Lin Moyu’s heart skipped a beat, “You mean… Transcendent God-level?”

Antares shook his head faintly, “You’re underestimating it. It refers to True Gods.”

Lin Moyu was stunned. This was the first time he had ever heard the term True God.

Clearly, such beings stood above Transcendent God-level.

Antares went on, “Whether the Gods or human class users, once they reach the realm of Transcendent God, all paths converge. They are collectively known as Transcendent Gods.”

“And those who surpass that realm are called True Gods.”

“The Godslaying Fortress was designed specifically to deal with True Gods.”

“Unfortunately, it was heavily damaged in a great war. Only its main structure survived.”

“Even after 1,000 years, it has recovered merely 10% of its original power.”

“Even so, it’s still formidable. It’s just that you, at your current level, are incapable of drawing out its true might.”

Lin Moyu asked, “How can it be fully restored?”

“Energy. An enormous amount of energy.” Antares replied without hesitation, “The fortress has self-repair capabilities; it simply needs enough fuel.”

Shenxia City—no, the Godslaying Fortress—had remained stationed in the lower layer, constantly absorbing energy from the Immemorial Battlefield’s land. Yet even after a millennium, it had recovered only 10%.

The sheer energy requirement was terrifying.

Lin Moyu pointed at the small tower, “Then what about this?”

Antares said, “Didn’t you say the Godslaying Fortress lacked flexibility? That’s because this was missing.”

“The Thunderclap Tower is the inner tower of the Godslaying Fortress and contains the core. The small tower in your hand is the outer tower.”

Lin Moyu pondered briefly, “You’re saying… I can control the Godslaying Fortress with this?”

Antares’s eyes lit up, “Exactly. Fuse your soul brand into it, connect it to the inner tower’s core, and the Godslaying Fortress will respond to your will.”

“Of course, with your current strength, you’re nowhere near qualified. Forget flying it, even trying to lift it for even a second would drain you dry and leave you a shriveled corpse.”

Lin Moyu nodded. That made sense. If such a weapon were easy to control, he would already be invincible, able to crush the Abyss and the Dragonkind World at will. Who could possibly stop him?

Still, while he couldn’t control it yet, there was no harm in placing his soul brand on the outer tower first.

Antares added, “There was someone else’s brand on it before, but I wiped it clean. You can use it without worry.”

Lin Moyu said sincerely, “Thank you.”

Antares raised his head arrogantly, “A trivial matter. No need for thanks.”

After a moment, Lin Moyu asked, “Do you know who just tried to take the Godslaying Fortress?”

Antares snorted, “Just some brat who recently became a True God. Don’t concern yourself with him. He won’t dare return—otherwise, I’ll swat him to death with one slap.”

A True God was merely a brat in Antares’s eyes. Lin Moyu’s understanding of Antares’s strength was completely overturned.

He suddenly realized how little he truly knew.

Even with what he had learned from the Water God, he was still far from grasping the peak of power.

If True Gods were insignificant to Antares, then Transcendent Gods were even more so.

His ultimate goal had been pushed far beyond what he once imagined.

Lin Moyu recalled the old man’s words about becoming the guide of this world. Now he understood that Transcendent God wouldn’t be enough.

Perhaps even True God would fall short. As for what realm was truly required… he had no idea.

The pursuit of power had no end.

Before absolute power, weakness was the greatest sin.

In battles between powerhouses, a single casual strike could erase countless lives, just as a human might unknowingly crush ants beneath their feet.

No one mourned the weak.

To avoid being killed on a whim, one had to become strong.

After several seconds of silence, Lin Moyu spoke slowly, each word heavy with meaning, “I know what happened back then.”

Antares blinked in confusion, “Back then? Which ‘back then’? What are you talking about?”

Question marks surfaced in his mind. Antares had lived for countless years; there were far too many “back thens” to choose from.

Lin Moyu continued calmly, “When the Dreadbeasts and the Zerg invaded our world. The Gods and human class users fought a great war. The world will awakened, the Gods fell, and the lineage of class users was severed…”

Antares’s eyes widened, “Who told you that?”

“The Water God.” Lin Moyu said, “I awakened her.”

“Women…” Antares sighed helplessly, “Forget it. If you know, you know.”

“There are still things I don’t understand.” Lin Moyu said.

“What’s there not to understand?”

“You clearly know the whole truth. So why refuse to tell me? Were you afraid I couldn’t bear it? Am I really that fragile?”

Antares shook his head. “It’s not that. There’s simply no urgency. Even if I’d told you earlier, what could you have done? Nothing. When your strength reaches the right level, you’ll naturally learn what you need to know.”

Lin Moyu understood. He had encountered similar situations before, so he didn’t dwell on it.

Instead, he changed the subject, “You know who the mastermind behind that great war was. I also know you won’t tell me that either.”

“So let me ask something else. What’s the situation with the Abyssal Demons and the Dragokind? Righteous God told me that even if a Transcendent God-level were born among humans, it would still be impossible to wipe them out. Why?”

Antares scoffed, “Jiang Yi? What does that guy know? His limit in this lifetime is half-step Transcendent God. He’ll never truly reach Transcendent God-level.”

“There is no one in this world who can’t be killed. It only depends on whether you have enough strength.”

“Even us Dragons, there are...”

He didn’t elaborate, but the implication was clear.

Lin Moyu thought for a moment, “So if I had the power of a Transcendent God-level, could I wipe out the Abyssal Demons and the Dragonkind?”

“No.” Antares replied without hesitation.

Lin Moyu looked at him, waiting.

“Transcendent God-level isn’t enough.” Antaris said flatly, “Only after reaching the realm of True God could you do it.”

Lin Moyu frowned, “But the Demon Emperor and the Dragon Emperor are only half-step Transcendent God-level. For a Transcendent God-level to kill a half-step Transcendent God-level should be easy, shouldn’t it?”

“This involves the laws of the world. Once you reach Transcendent God-level, you’ll understand. It can’t be explained clearly right now.”

“The laws are like a door. If you haven’t stepped inside, you’ll never know what’s beyond it.”

Lin Moyu closed his eyes in contemplation. He roughly understood.

It was like trying to explain airplanes, trains, and cars to a primitive human. No matter how much you talked, they wouldn’t truly grasp it—until they saw it with their own eyes or experienced it themselves.

That was Lin Moyu’s current state.

He knew of laws, had touched them, could sense their aura and even distinguish their strength. But wielding them? Impossible.

He hadn’t even reached the door yet, let alone stepped through it. He was still far away.

He didn’t press further. Even if he knew, it would change nothing. It would only weigh on him.

Lin Moyu began imprinting his soul brand onto the outer core of the Godslaying Fortress.

This wasn’t something that could be done quickly; it required long-term refinement.

The outer core’s grade was simply too high. It had surpassed the mythical-grade of this world.

With Lin Moyu’s soul rank at only level 92, he barely met the minimum requirement.

After placing his soul brand and establishing an initial connection, he stored it within his soul world, slowly nurturing it and deepening the imprint.

At that moment, Antaris spoke again, “Your age is truly tragic. It should have been a beautiful age, yet it turned out like this.”

“Luckily I’m still here. Otherwise… hehe.”

His laugh was strange, almost wretched, difficult to describe.

Then he shouted, “Brat, work harder! When the time comes for me to fight my way back, if you can’t keep up, I won’t wait for you!”

Lin Moyu replied, “Don’t worry. I’ll be there—fighting alongside you.”
