Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The wind chimes rang—clear, melodious, and endlessly echoing in Lin Moyu’s ears.

He quickly discovered that sealing his sense of hearing was useless. The sound still reached him.

This was the law of sound. It did not rely on the ears; it resonated directly within the soul.

It was much like the scent of blood in the Primordial Space, bypassing the senses entirely.

Lin Moyu could only resist with sheer willpower to avoid being influenced.

He had been caught off guard previously. Though the other party had harbored no ill intent, the sensation of losing control had been deeply unpleasant.

Back then, his fighting spirit had surged uncontrollably, leaving him with a primitive urge to charge into battle.

If such sound were used across an army, it could drastically boost morale and combat strength. Every soldier would be filled with fervor and bloodlust.

But if applied to oneself, it could just as easily lead to madness, or reduce one to a mindless puppet that existed only to fight.

Everything had two sides. Lin Moyu was someone who enjoyed analysis, always considering matters from every angle.

Because of this, he preferred to remain calm at all times.

Since his debut, very few things had ever truly shaken him.

As he drew closer to the Kunlun Divine Palace, the wind chimes grew louder and more powerful.

Yet Lin Moyu understood that although they carried law force, as long as one’s will was firm enough, even a level 40 class user could endure them.

The master of the wind chimes bore no malice.

1,000 meters was nothing to him. In an instant, he reached the summit.

Standing there, the Kunlun Divine Palace came fully into view.

It was colossal, over 1,000 meters in diameter.

Even from afar, the exquisite carvings on its exterior were clearly visible.

The snowfall swept across it like tireless servants, leaving the palace spotless and free of dust.

Only a small portion of the structure connected to the mountain peak. The remaining 99% hovered in the air, like a divine palace suspended in the heavens.

Curious, Lin Moyu moved closer.

Above the palace gate hung a plaque engraved with a single word: Kunlun.

The script belonged to the Shenxia Empire.

The moment Lin Moyu saw it, he knew the palace was a creation of the current age.

Writing itself was the most irrefutable proof.

He stared at the word, sensing the powerful aura it still emitted.

Even after countless years, its presence remained intense.

“Such dense God aura… This is a powerful God.”

“Far stronger than the Lightning God. This must be a high-tier God.”

“According to historical records, there had once been many high-tier Gods, but for unknown reasons, all had vanished without a trace.”

Only a few high-tier Gods were recorded—the God of Bloodshed and the God of Life among them.

Many others were never documented.

For example, the God of Stars appeared nowhere in the records, yet the endless meteors that had struck the Meteorfall Continent over innumerable years suggested immense power.

The God of Bloodshed had disappeared, even losing their weapon. They must have fallen.

The God of Life had met a similar fate, their weapon even triggering a world-ending war.

The master of the Kunlun Divine Palace was likely another high-tier God.

The wind chimes were proof enough—law force could not be fabricated.

“What exactly happened back then? I really want to know.”

The question had troubled him for days.

Without hesitation, he walked toward the gate.

He felt neither fear nor anxiety.

Fear and anxiety were pointless anyway.

He had only two choices: enter the Kunlun Divine Palace or turn back.

Having come this far, how could he retreat?

With the scale given to him by Antares in his possession, there were few places in this world that could truly trap him.

At worst, he could activate it and escape.

As he approached, the palace gate opened automatically, welcoming him like an honored guest.

The interior was even more expansive than the exterior suggested.

Beyond the entrance lay a vast garden filled with trees.

Snow drifted from the sky, yet no matter how heavy it fell, not a single flake lingered on the branches.

Every corner of the palace was immaculately clean.

The garden’s layout was orderly and refined—neat, elegant, and pleasing to the eye.

“This God must love cleanliness… even to the point of obsession.”

“At the same time, they are likely female.”

Here, the sound of wind chimes grew stronger.

Wind passed through the garden, producing a continuous cascade of tinkling notes.

Wind chimes hung everywhere—on trees, along pathways, in every corner.

Yet when their sounds merged, there was no chaos.

Instead, the music was pure and harmonious. More importantly, it no longer carried law force and penetrated the soul.

This reinforced Lin Moyu’s judgment: a God who loved cleanliness, wind chimes, and refined beauty—surely female.

Just as the thought formed, a beam of light descended, bathing the garden in transcendent brilliance.

From within the light, a figure slowly walked out—a man clad in a long robe.

Lin Moyu froze. He had guessed wrong.

The man was not a true body, but a manifestation formed from gathered element.

Still, there was no mistaking it. He was a God.

An aura unique to Gods radiated from him.

“Greetings, Five-Star Godly General of the human race.” The God said politely.

He had seen through Lin Moyu’s status at a glance.

Lin Moyu was startled. He wasn’t wearing his military badge; how had the other party known?

“Do not be surprised.” The God continued, “I have fought alongside many five-star godly generals of your race. I am very familiar with their aura.”

“Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kunlun, Great God of the Kunlun Mountain.”

This time, Lin Moyu was genuinely shaken.

He stared at the man in disbelief. A Great God.

Great God stood a level above high-tier God—equivalent to half-step Transcendent God-level expert among the human race.

Lin Moyu had never imagined that such an existence resided within the Kunlun Divine Palace. He had severely underestimated this place.

Lin Moyu did not doubt the other party’s identity, saying, ”Human race, five-star godly general, Lin Moyu, greets Kunlun Great God.”

Kunlun Great God smiled faintly and made a welcoming gesture, “My true body is still in slumber, and this manifestation has little to offer in the way of hospitality. Allow me to give you a tour of the palace instead. I hope you don’t mind.”

How could Lin Moyu possibly mind? He had countless questions he longed to ask.

As long as this manifestation could speak, it was all that mattered.

Even so, he restrained himself. They were not yet familiar, and more importantly, he had not grasped Kunlun Great God’s temperament.

Speaking rashly would be unwise.

As they walked into the palace, Kunlun Great God spoke again, “Your strength exceeds my expectations.”

Lin Moyu replied modestly, “It is nothing special.”

Kunlun Great God shook his head, “No. Even back in the day, you would have been considered among the most outstanding.”

Lin Moyu wondered what time period Kunlun Great God referred to.

It must have been a long time ago—at least more than 1,000 years ago, perhaps buried in the depths of time itself.

“In our days.” Kunlun Great God continued, “Geniuses emerged one after another. As long as one wasn’t foolish, reaching the peak-level class user was inevitable. Those with slightly better aptitude could advance to God-level.”

“From class awakening to God-level, the fastest took only one or two years.”

To Lin Moyu, it sounded like a myth.

“One or two years? How could that be possible?” He blurted out.

Kunlun Great God chuckled, “That came at a price.”

“A price so great that we paid far, far too much. This world paid far, far too much.”

“The burden was nearly unbearable.”

“But we had no choice.”

Lin Moyu fell silent. Such a price could only be something beyond imagination.

Kunlun Great God suddenly stopped. He gazed at the falling snow and sighed deeply, “But in the end, it was all worth it.”

A breeze swept through the garden, and clear, melodious chimes rang once more.

Kunlun Great God smiled, “Doesn’t it sound pleasant?”

Lin Moyu nodded sincerely, “It’s a beautiful melody.”

“Indeed.” Kunlun Great God agreed, “I have listened to it for countless years and never grown tired of it.”

“Did you just think that I should be a woman?”

Lin Moyu’s mouth twitched, but he remained silent.

This was not a question he could safely answer.

Kunlun Great God said, “It’s fine. Anyone would think so.”

“The garden was arranged by my wife. The wind chimes were hung by her as well. She loved them—very much.”

“Unfortunately… she can never hear them again.”

Kunlun Great God sighed once more.

After a moment, Lin Moyu asked carefully, “That great war back then… it must have been extremely cruel.”

Kunlun Great God turned and studied him for a long time, “It seems you know something.”

“I know you have many questions, including about the formation within the Kunlun Mountain.”

“From the day you first entered the dungeon, I’ve been watching you.”

“I watched you kill Kunlun Snow God.”

“But for now, I cannot tell you.”

Lin Moyu asked, “Is it because I am still too weak?”

Kunlun Great God nodded, “Your aptitude is exceptional, but your strength is insufficient.”

“Then when will I be qualified to know?”

“Wait until you can master a law.”

Lin Moyu’s heart jolted. He slowly uttered five words: “Half-step Transcendent God-level.”
