Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Lin Moyu was drenched in sweat, his entire body trembling uncontrollably.

He kept warning himself, “Don’t think about it, don’t think about it anymore.”

Yet those secrets seemed to carry an irresistible, terrifying pull. The more he tried to suppress them, the stronger the urge became, as if some unseen force was compelling him to dig deeper, to uncover more.

He tried to open his eyes, only to realize that his body no longer obeyed him.

Sensing danger, Antares suddenly let out a thunderous roar.

The sound crashed directly into Lin Moyu’s soul.

At the same time, the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal outside his soul responded with a roar of its own, resonating with Antares.

The combined shock jolted Lin Moyu’s soul. His body convulsed, and at last, he snapped back to awareness.

Antares exhaled heavily in relief, “Brat, what on earth were you thinking about? Your soul nearly collapsed. That could’ve damaged your foundation.”

Lin Moyu gasped for breath, his heart pounding. It felt as though he had just walked past the edge of death.

His memories were strange, both blurred and painfully clear.

What was blurred was the very questions he had been pursuing moments ago. It felt as if he had forcibly sealed them away, cutting them off before they could go any further.

He finally understood why the few who had successfully obtained Primordial Skills never spoke of what happened inside the secret realm.

They definitely knew exactly what was inside, but they never revealed a single word.

It wasn’t that they were unwilling to speak. They couldn’t. They couldn’t even think about it.

Lin Moyu suspected that they, like him, had sealed that portion of their memories.

Seeing Lin Moyu fall silent again, Antares leaned closer, suspicion rising, “Hey, are you alright? Don’t tell me you’ve turned into an idiot.”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “I entered the Primordial Space.”

Antares blinked, “Isn’t that normal? That was your goal from the start. So what happened? Did you succeed?”

“I did.” Lin Moyu replied, “Both skills were retained.”

Antares’s eyes lit up with excitement, “I knew it! If even you couldn’t retain them, no one else would stand a chance. How was it? Difficult?”

“It was alright.” Lin Moyu said honestly, “A few trials. Nothing too hard.”

For someone with his ability, that was the truth.

“That makes sense. Your strength far surpasses others of the same level…”

Roar!

Mid-sentence, Antares suddenly erupted with a deafening roar, “Brat—don’t tell me you still remember the secret realm!”

Lin Moyu nodded, “I do.”

Antares surged with excitement, “Then hurry up and tell me. What was it really like?”

Lin Moyu frowned, “You don’t know?”

“Nonsense!” Antares snapped, “If I knew, why would I ask? Since the previous age, everyone who entered came out without any memory of it!”

Lin Moyu remained calm, “Didn’t you say you know everything?”

Antares snorted irritably, “Stop stalling and speak!”

Lin Moyu smiled faintly, “Do you truly want to know?”

Antares glared at him, “If you don’t talk, I’ll swallow you whole.”

Lin Moyu knew Antares was joking.

He sat down at once and motioned for Antares to come closer.

Antares lowered his enormous head until it was nearly beside Lin Moyu.

Lowering his voice deliberately, Lin Moyu whispered, “Inside the secret realm, there’s a pavilion. Within it lies an independent space. But before entering the independent space, I saw a scene.”

“A starry sky with countless experts, an old man riding a green ox, and purple qi surging…”

Roar!

Antares suddenly roared again, cutting him off.

The thunderous sound made Lin Moyu’s ears ring, “What are you doing?”

Fear echoed in Antares’s roar, and the same fear flickered unmistakably in his eyes.

Antares shook his massive head, “Don’t say it. Don’t say it anymore.”

Lin Moyu frowned, “What’s wrong?”

Antares lowered his voice, heavy and grave, “Remember this: matters concerning that being must never be mentioned. Not to anyone. If you speak too much, disaster will follow.”

Lin Moyu felt confused, “But I’ve already left the secret realm.”

Antares shook his head like a rattle drum, “It’s useless. Completely useless. Location doesn’t matter.”

“Even if you reach the deepest reaches of the starry sky, the moment you mention his name, he will hear.”

Lin Moyu could hardly believe it, “But I don’t even know his name.”

From beginning to end, he had only guessed. The old man riding a green ox, who had offered him tea, might be the legendary Laozi from Lin Moyu’s previous world.

But it was only speculation. Nothing more.

“You’ve seen him.” Antares said heavily, “His image lingers in your mind. Paired with your words, that’s already enough. Enough for him to hear.”

Lin Moyu asked, “Is he really that terrifying?”

Antares answered, his tone solemn, “His terror is beyond your imagination. Remember this well: don’t mention him, don’t think of him, don’t ask about him.”

The seriousness in Antares’s voice made Lin Moyu’s heart sink.

Earlier, Lin Moyu had been replaying every detail of the secret realm, trying to piece together the truths of the outside world.

Images of powerful beings surfaced again and again, including the Primordial Bird, as well as the old man he suspected to be Laozi.

The images clung to him like a curse, impossible to shake.

Now he finally understood the danger.

Even when facing the Dragon God, Antares had shown no fear.

But this time, he was truly afraid.

If even Antares feared that being, then he was something Lin Moyu absolutely must not touch.

He made a decision.

He would bury this matter deep within his memories. Until he possessed truly overwhelming power, he would never approach it again.

Still, a trace of unwillingness lingered. He couldn’t help but ask, “Antares… have you heard the name Gui Fu?”

Antares’s scales instantly stood on end like drawn blades. He turned his head slowly, his expression stiff.

“W-Where did you hear that name?”

Antares’s reaction immediately put Lin Moyu on edge, “In the secret realm. He tried to kill me, but because of the rules there, he couldn’t act directly.”

Antares’s eyes spun rapidly, then he suddenly shouted, “I get it! I get it now! So he actually went there.”

Lin Moyu asked quietly, “Is Gui Fu terrifying? More terrifying than that person?”

Antares shook his head, “Gui Fu isn’t terrifying. He’s cruel. Compared to that person, Gui Fu is nothing.”

“Let me repeat myself about the matters of the secret realm…”

Lin Moyu cut him off, “Don’t worry. I know my limits. I only mentioned it to you once. I won’t bring it up again.”

Only then did Antares relax. He understood Lin Moyu well;once he gave his word, he would keep it.

Lin Moyu’s level of caution was something even Antares found admirable.

Changing the subject, Lin Moyu spoke of his experiences on the Wind-Lightning Continent, particularly the colossal creature hidden beneath the Lightning Mountain Range.

At this, Antares immediately perked up, throwing aside his earlier restraint and launching into animated chatter.

“That thing? It’s the Lightning God’s companion beast. Later, it became her mount.”

“When the Lightning God was defeated and fell, it was gravely injured as well. Since then, it’s been sleeping beneath the Lightning Mountain Range.”

“The Lightning Trees grow on its body. It uses them to absorb lightning and slowly recover.”

“As for why it can remain on the Wind-Lightning Continent… Well, that’s my doing.”

“But don’t worry. It sleeps most of the time. And even if it wakes up, it can’t leave that area.”

“If you want to rely on the Lightning Trees to level up, just keep your distance. Want me to put in a word so it won’t attack you?”

Antares was back to his usual self, having completely forgotten the earlier topic.

Lin Moyu hadn’t expected that existence to be the Lightning God’s companion beast. No wonder it was so powerful.

And the reason it could remain unrestrained by the Wind-Lightning Continent’s laws, it was all because of Antares.

Lin Moyu said coolly, “Do you realize you nearly got me killed?”

Antares snorted, “How was I supposed to know you’d go after the Lightning Trees? If you hadn’t mentioned it, I’d have forgotten about it entirely.”

“I’ve lived for countless years, witnessed era after era. I’ve done far too many things. How could I remember something so trivial?”

Lin Moyu laughed, “All you do is sleep. How many things could you possibly have done?”

“And you never act without gain. If you helped the Lightning God, there must’ve been a reason.”

Antares muttered, “When I act, I always have my reasons.”

The two continued chatting and bickering.

Lin Moyu was normally a man of few words, rarely engaging in conversation.

Yet with Antares, he found himself talking far more than usual—at first to pry for information, but eventually out of genuine camaraderie.

Antares, too, had been alone for countless years.

Thus, the lonely man and the lonely Dragon came to keep each other company.
