Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The teleportation ended, and Lin Moyu found himself staring into Antares’s enormous eyes.

Antares’s expression was complicated, indescribable.

“What are you thinking about?” Lin Moyu asked.

Antares replied with a question of his own, “Why have you come back?”

“I obtained what you wanted. To avoid any unforeseen complications, I returned first.”

As he spoke, Lin Moyu produced two boxes containing Dragon Beads.

Antares did not immediately take them. Instead, he said quietly, “You killed a lot of Dragonkind again.”

There was a trace of heaviness in his voice.

Lin Moyu could roughly guess the reason.

“When I left the dungeon, a group of Dragonkind tried to kill me. I killed them instead.”

“Were there any Dragon Kings?” Antares asked.

Lin Moyu nodded, “Thirteen low-tier Dragon Kings, one mid-tier Dragon King, and a bunch of level 80-plus Dragonkind Battle Generals.”

Antares glanced at him, then said nothing more.

He opened his mouth and inhaled. The two Dragon Beads flew into his mouth.

A deep, roaring sound echoed from the thick mist that constantly shrouded his body. Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled as some kind of transformation began.

Lin Moyu took out another box, “The Dragon God asked me to give you this, and to pass on a message.”

Antares’s expression turned cold, “What is it? As if anything meaningful could come from his mouth.”

“See for yourself.” Lin Moyu said, handing the box over.

Antares hesitated and did not take it immediately.

“You’re not scared, are you?” Lin Moyu teased lightly.

Antares snorted, “Scared? Of him? He can’t kill me!”

“Then take a look.” Lin Moyu replied.

“Hmph. Fine. I’ll look. Who’s afraid of who?”

Antares opened the box and froze.

His massive body trembled. His head shook violently, his eyes filled with disbelief.

“This… this…”

He was too overcome with emotion to finish a single sentence.

His emotions surged out of control.

Lin Moyu watched in silence.

After a long while, Antares finally steadied his breath, “What… did he ask you to say?”

“The Dragon God said: ‘I’m sorry.’”

Those simple words struck Antares like a bolt of lightning.

He suddenly raised his head and let out an earth-shaking roar.

Terrifying energy swept outward. The ground cracked.

The entire Immemorial Battlefield trembled. Every monster, even world rank bosses, shuddered in fear.

Antares’s power was fully unleashed.

Lin Moyu remained silent, allowing him to vent.

It was better to release those emotions than let them fester.

A few minutes later, Antares finally quieted.

Lin Moyu clearly saw a tear well up at the corner of his eye.

It never fell, but was instantly dispersed by his overwhelming power.

Lin Moyu did not point it out. He only watched silently.

After a short while, Antares regained his usual composure and swallowed the Dragon God’s Dragon Bead.

He looked at Lin Moyu, “Don’t ask about what’s between him and me. Even if you ask, I won’t tell you.”

Lin Moyu understood. It was Antares’s private matter, not something to pry into.

“Then… can I ask about other things?” Lin Moyu asked.

“Yes.” Antares replied, “Since you brought back the Dragon Beads, I’ll tell you whatever I can.”

His mood clearly had not fully recovered.

Lin Moyu said, “I met several Dragons in the Dragon King Palace dungeon. They called themselves Elemental Dragons and controlled different elements. They also called the Dragonkind in our world lowly creatures. Can you tell me why?”

Antares looked at him and fell silent for a moment.

“If it were anyone else, I wouldn’t say anything.”

Lin Moyu smiled faintly, “If it were anyone else, I wouldn’t ask. But you’re my friend, aren’t you?”

The word friend clearly struck something in Antares’s heart.

At that moment, it carried unusual weight.

Antares’s massive body trembled almost imperceptibly.

“The Dragonkind you mentioned… they are nothing compared to true Dragons.”

“In the Dragon race, hierarchy is absolute. At the top stands the Dragon God, the king of all Dragons.”

“The Dragon King Palace dungeon refers to the Dragon God.”

“Normally, the Dragon God does not personally stay there. He has too many affairs to handle. Most of the time, what appears in the dungeon is merely his puppet.”

“This time… who knows why he happened to be there.”

Lin Moyu said softly, “The Dragon God said he was acting on a whim, following a feeling.”

Antares snorted, “That old thing’s realm is extremely high. That’s possible. Listen carefully, I’ll only say this once.”

“The Dragon God is the king of the Dragon Race. He possesses an Ancestral Dragon bloodline and has awakened it to an extremely high degree. His power is unmatched.”

“Below him are two types of Dragons: pureblood Dragons and mixed-blood Dragons.”

“The lifelong goal of mixed-blood Dragons is to evolve toward pureblood Dragons.”

“And the goal of pureblood Dragons is to evolve toward Ancestral Dragons.”

“The Elemental Dragons you encountered are mixed-blood Dragons.”

Lin Moyu began to understand.

The Elemental Dragons were mixed-blood Dragons, striving to purify their bloodline and awaken greater power to advance toward pureblood Dragons.

And the Holy Dragon he had seen before already possessed certain traits of pureblood Dragons, his body having evolved from thick and short to long and slender.

As for Antares… he was clearly beyond the pureblood stage, likely possessing an Ancestral Dragon bloodline as well.

From his tone alone, Lin Moyu could sense Antares’s disdain for pureblood Dragons.

Even when speaking of the Dragon God’s Ancestral Dragon bloodline, his attitude was one of equality.

Lin Moyu engraved Antares’s words in his heart, all while carefully studying his expression.

Sometimes, the smallest changes in demeanor revealed important truths.

Lin Moyu noticed the disdain in Antares’s eyes deepen.

His tone shifted accordingly.

“As for the Dragonkind of this world, they’re nothing but mongrels, at the very bottom. Even lower than Wyverns.”

His voice dripped with contempt.

“But some of them have an atavistic bloodline.” Lin Moyu said, “It’s said that the Dragon Emperor possesses one as well.”

Antares sneered, “Atavistic bloodline? Ridiculous. Let me tell you a story.”

“Once upon a time, a pureblood fool died while awakening an Ancestral Dragon bloodline.”

“He exploded, and a fragment of his flesh fell into another world and was consumed by primitive monsters.”

“Those monsters mutated, inheriting a trace of pureblood Dragon bloodline. They began calling themselves Dragonkind.”

“The Dragon Emperor is just one with a slightly purer bloodline. Reaching the Transcendent God-level in his lifetime is impossible. Half-step Transcendent God-level is his limit. That’s where the bloodline ceiling lies.”

“Now you know how the Dragonkind came to be.”

Lin Moyu finally understood. So that was the origin of the Dragonkind in this world.

No wonder their appearances were so strange, so different from the true Dragons he had seen before.

He had encountered real Dragons shortly after his class awakening, and the difference was unmistakable.

A long-standing question was finally answered, bringing him a sense of clarity.

But a new one surfaced.

“The Elemental Dragons I saw in the dungeon didn’t seem very strong.”

Antares replied calmly, “Those were only puppet avatars. Did you think their main bodies would enter the dungeon?”

“Let me tell you something else. In our Dragon race, even the weakest mixed-blood Dragons are born at God-level and reach high-tier God-level by adulthood.”

“This applies even to those fools who never train—an achievement they reach simply by sleeping.”

“If they put in even the slightest effort, ascending to the Transcendent God-level isn’t difficult.”

Lin Moyu was stunned.

To sleep one’s way to the high-tier God-level… a realm capable of wielding laws.

And to reach the Transcendent God-level with only minimal effort…

And this was the weakest of the mixed-blood Dragons.

What about the stronger mixed-blood Dragons? The pureblood Dragons? Or those who awakened an Ancestral Dragon bloodline?

The power of the Dragon Race far exceeded his imagination.

No wonder Antares looked down on the Dragon Emperor. By those standards, he truly was nothing special.

By comparison, the human race seemed nothing special as well.

Suddenly, Lin Moyu’s body trembled slightly as he realized that thought was wrong.

“That’s not right. Lyle said the human race is a major race, producing countless geniuses.”

“The humans of this world may be weak, but that doesn’t mean all humans are.”

“And the humans of this world aren’t completely hopeless either…”

“At least the previous age produced Transcendent God-level powerhouses. They may not rival the true Dragons, but they still have a chance.”

“And in this age… there is me.”
