Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The territory of the Giant Leaf Mother Tree had been completely wiped out.

As Lin Moyu expected, his EXP had risen by about 12%.

For most people, that much progress would require two to three months of dungeon grinding.

For him, it had taken less than half an hour.

The Giant Leaf Dwarf Trees were entirely cleared, leaving the ground littered with broken branches and fallen leaves.

Soon, they would decay and merge with the soil, returning the land to a barren state.

But it wouldn’t last. Before long, new Giant Leaf Dwarf Trees would respawn.

For countless years, the Immemorial Battlefield had operated on fixed territorial cycles. Even if the Giant Leaf Dwarf Trees vanished temporarily, other monsters—such as venomous serpents—would not invade their domain.

In a few months, the forest would grow back, and a new Giant Leaf Mother Tree would appear.

This cycle wasn’t unique to the Immemorial Battlefield. Many places across the world followed similar rules, maintaining a steady rhythm day after day.

After leaving the Giant Leaf Mother Tree’s domain, Lin Moyu had nearly crossed the entire Savagewild Continent, reaching its far edge where it faced the Meteorfall Continent across the sea.

The Savagewild Continent was vast—an enormous oval—taking Lin Moyu nearly two full days to traverse.

Along the way, he encountered several battles. Apart from the Giant Leaf Mother Tree, he slew several other world rank bosses, clearing out their territories as well.

Twice he deliberately sought them out, finding their monster-dense regions ideal for farming EXP.

Twice more, world rank bosses provoked him first, and were instantly slain for their trouble.

At last, the edge of the continent appeared, and the ocean stretched out before him.

The water shimmered with countless light spots, like stars scattered across its surface. This was the Starlight Ocean.

The closer one drew to the Meteorfall Continent, the denser the light spots became.

Light shot upward from the sea and reflected back down from the sky, creating a breathtaking, radiant spectacle.

The starry glow blended harmoniously with the white light surrounding Lin Moyu.

He chose a flat patch of land facing the ocean and slowly sat down to meditate. A ring of skeletons materialized around him, forming a protective barrier.

Waves crashed against the rocky shore, thunderous and unending.

Lin Moyu’s consciousness sank deep into his soul.

Upon reaching level 74, his soul had a sudden shudder.

He instantly understood: his soul had reached another stage of completeness and could now contain an additional skill star core.

He knew well how much power a skill gained once its skill star core fused with the soul.

Even a low fusion rate brought about a qualitative transformation.

Without hesitation, Lin Moyu resumed the familiar task of “moving bricks.”

His soul force surged. He quickly located the skill space and the countless glittering star cores within it.

They resembled stars—varying in size and brightness, flickering in the void.

Each represented a skill, but until his soul force fully enveloped and permeated one, he couldn’t know which.

And once that happened, the choice became irreversible.

It was like drawing lots.

But Lin Moyu didn’t mind. His goal was to fuse every single skill star core eventually.

His path was unlike anyone else’s, difficult beyond measure.

But once he completed it, he would gain power beyond imagination.

He reached toward the brightest skill star core and wrapped his soul force around it like a colossal hand.

Having done this twice before, he moved with ease.

His soul force permeated the skill star core like countless fine needles, beginning the long, laborious process of “moving bricks.”

A notification flowed into his consciousness, revealing the identity of the chosen skill: Summon Skeletal King.

“So it’s this one.” Lin Moyu murmured, satisfied.

Since acquiring Summon Skeletal King, Lin Moyu had made it his core skill.

It felt as though every skeleton in his undead army existed solely to support it.

Compared to the Skeletal King, the old undead army no longer measured up.

The Skeletal King was simply too powerful and too versatile.

Having selected this skill by chance, Lin Moyu was filled with anticipation, eager to see how it would transform.

His soul, like a massive invisible hand, gripped the skill star core and pulled it from the skill space toward his soul world.

At the same time, his soul force continued to merge with the skill star core.

The process felt more strenuous than before. The skill space’s restraint on the skill star core was noticeably stronger than during his previous two attempts.

A brief reflection gave him the answer.

If the skill space’s total restraint force was constant, then with ten skill star cores, each endured only 10% of that pressure.

After removing two, the total restraint remained the same, but the remaining eight skill star cores were now each subjected to 12.5%.

By the time he reached the final skill star core, it would bear the full force alone.

Counteracting that restraint relied entirely on soul force, each extraction more difficult than the last.

Lin Moyu finally understood why most God-level powerhouses only moved two or three skill star cores.

The difficulty simply rose higher and higher.

Luckily, his own soul force was already at the God-level and continued to grow steadily thanks to the Nine-Colored Dragon Soul Crystal and the Blueluster Fire.

Otherwise, he would never have had the confidence to relocate all of his skill star cores.

As for the three flames in his talent world, they were even more tempting, but also far more demanding.

For now, they were far beyond what he could handle.

The waves crashed endlessly, one after another, year after year.

From time to time, strange creatures leapt from the ocean, their bodies shimmering with light spots.

No one knew whether the Starlight Ocean had shaped them this way, or if it was they who made the Starlight Ocean so dazzlingly beautiful.

The Starlight Ocean was known as the most breathtaking place in the lower layer, yet beneath its beauty lurked danger.

Soul force surged continuously. Although the restraining force had grown much stronger, Lin Moyu’s soul force had grown stronger still.

After two full days, the skill star core was finally pushed out of the skill space.

Freed from the restraint, its movement suddenly accelerated.

Half a day later, the skill star core representing Summon Skeletal King entered his soul.

More soul force poured into it. The skill star core glittered brilliantly as the two began to merge.

Lin Moyu watched with anticipation, wondering what the fusion rate would be.

The higher, the better—of course—but it depended on both the nature of the skill star core and the strength of his soul. It was impossible to predict.

At last, the Summon Skeletal King skill star core absorbed enough soul force.

With a burst of radiant power, it released soul force back into his body, anchoring itself firmly within his soul world.

The soul force, purified and refined by the skill star core, returned even purer than before.

Lin Moyu felt his soul rank rise once more.

The two complemented each other, benefitting one another.

He immediately examined the skill star core.

Roughly one-third of it had turned golden.

Delight surged through him; it exceeded all expectations.

He had hoped for a 20% fusion rate, but it had reached 30%.

He quickly checked the skill.

[Summon Skeletal King (fusion 30%): fuses the power of skeletons to summon a Skeletal King. A minimum of 10,000 skeletons and a maximum of 100,000 skeletons may be fused. Summoning a Skeletal King does not cause the skeletons to disappear, nor does it weaken the power of the skeletons.]

After reading the description, Lin Moyu trembled with excitement.

“No wonder… no wonder…” He murmured.

During the skill demonstration, he had seen Skeletal Kings fighting alongside an endless tide of skeletons.

But when he learned the skill himself, he had been forced to fuse skeletons to summon Skeletal Kings.

The two could not coexist, which had left him confused.

He had assumed his level was simply too low, that he lacked sufficient numbers of skeletons.

Now he understood: the skill star core had not yet entered his soul.

With the skill star core finally integrated, he could summon Skeletal Kings and his undead army at the same time.

The Skeletal Kings now drew their power from the skeletons without affecting them.

The two could coexist, fight together, and amplify each other’s power.

His combat strength surged once again.

No longer would he need to decide how many skeletons to sacrifice for summoning and how many to keep for battle.

Everything had become simple.

After three days of meditation, Lin Moyu slowly rose, joy gleaming in his eyes, and flew across the Starlight Ocean toward the Meteorfall Continent.
