STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Jeremy Night was able to find another shelter quickly. He hid inside the building to recover the starlight energy.

Time passed.

After two hours, the mental zone was full of starlight energy. The unknown beast egg was absorbing the natural energy at the same pace.

After carefully observing the unknown beast egg for some time, he came to realize that the unknown beast egg was actually breathing.

The starlight energy must be the residue left over after absorption, but it was enough to fill the mental zone space. He was not sure, but this was his speculation right now.

He had a lot of things to explore. Maybe he will find the answers in the future. After pushing down these thoughts, he decided to go out and look for the beasts. He didn’t want to be taken aback by another surprise.

When he came to the street, he found that the street and abandoned buildings on either side of the road were quiet, without any noise. It was kind of giving him a creepy vibe in the middle of the night.

If there was any beast activity nearby, it wouldn’t be this silent. Just as he started walking down this path, he heard a unique noise from one of the roadside buildings.

He quickly walked up to the building and began to observe it. From its structure, the ruined building appeared to be a residential building.

But what kind of corrupted beast was living in it? Jeremy wouldn’t foolishly barge into the building without thinking. He knew that there weren’t many beast types that liked to live inside enclosed spaces.

Right now, he has certain disadvantages because of the nighttime. He looked around the surroundings before making a firm decision.

There were two more days to go. He had already marked the Underground Tunnel and this residential building on his target list.

He would go and look for other traces, then he would start hunting them from the next morning onwards.

Meanwhile,

Some idiotic beast tamers took the courage to roam outside. They were quickly injured by the corrupted beasts that came to look outside for food.

If not for the patrol team nearby, they would have been reduced to food for the beasts. The problem was that not everyone could hunt and kill Tier-2 corrupted beasts at night.

Most of these people were hotheaded without skills. Because of their foolishness, they now lost the opportunity to continue the competition.

Time passed.

The beast tamers from different departments were doing their best. Those corrupted beasts that came to hunt at night were actively targeted by beast tamers from the Attack Department and Defense Department.

As if it was their plan all along, both departments had numbers and talented people. As long as the beast tamers worked together, they could increase their department kill count quickly.

Outside,

The department instructors were looking at the Attack and Defense Department instructors in a new light. Who would be crazy enough to encourage first-year beast tamers to hunt and kill the corrupted beasts at night?

If any mishap happened, then they would have to rescue them. If timely rescue was not possible, then the consequences would be disastrous.

The middle-aged man, the Attack Department instructor, saw the various reactions of everyone.

”I know what you guys are thinking. But trust me, I have trained these guys for this situation. If they go outside wild to explore, then these experiences will help them,” he spoke eloquently without giving others a chance to refute.

Who could argue against him if he put his words in this way?

”Sly b@stard,” Jacob cursed him in his heart.

The Attack and Defense Departments were the departments with the most beast tamers in this university, including all the years.

Sometimes it gave leeway for the instructors to do what they wanted, but it was a risky teaching approach. Some of the kids were from influential backgrounds.

If anything happened to them, then the university would get a headache.

”What do you think?”

”How many beasts has he killed?” Ariel asked him.

She had been watching Jeremy Night’s movements. She was able to figure out that the kid was marking the hunting area.

Jacob smiled and set his gaze on the screen, where he saw Jeremy Night searching for beast hideouts.

”That kid is clever. He doesn’t want to hunt at night but is marking important places,” Jacob said.

”Don’t forget that the kid doesn’t have the support of a beast,” Ariel said.

Jacob’s eyes flashed with a glint. Sometimes he forgot about the disadvantages faced by the kid.

Compared to other department students who were continuously rescued by the patrol teams, Jeremy Night was doing fine.

The following day,

When the sun came out, the second day of the competition officially started. The first-year students began to come out from their hides and started looking for the beasts.

Whereas those corrupted beasts who were natural nighttime hunters went into hiding before sunrise.

At this time, the Control Department beast tamers were using their lifeline beasts to search for the beasts. Among them, Levy Glass was using the Glass Snake to look for the corrupted beasts.

The Snake Beast could sense threats easily. With the help of his lifeline beast, he was able to kill a couple of Tier-2 corrupted beasts.

Unlike others, he had to cooperate with his lifeline beast. His ”hardened” awakened talent wouldn’t help him in attacking. He was commanding the Glass Snake for the kill.

With his talent, the Glass Snake’s defense was further hardened. None of the corrupted beasts’ claws were able to injure it.

Though his hunting was going well, from time to time, he thought about Petra and Jeremy. All three of them were from the same place. He wanted to perform better than them, especially since Jeremy Night was an A-Grader.

He didn’t want to lose against him. Unlike others, he and Petra were aware that Jeremy Night used to go out with Night Family Guards to hunt down corrupted beasts.

It was a practice followed long before he had awakened. Now he suspected that his individual skills would surprise others.

But he didn’t compare Jeremy to other A-Graders because of the obvious factor, the Striker Department tag.
