STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Jeremy is recovering the Starlight energy. Not long after, he heard shouting and screaming. His eyebrows trembled because of the disturbance. He opened his eyes and decided to check out the situation.

When he stepped out of the ruined shop, he spotted three Beast Tamers being chased by a Tier-2 Corrupted Dog Beast. While he was observing them, they also saw him standing on the street.

They immediately started rushing towards him. When they got closer, Jeremy recognized their badges. They were from the Medicine Department, fellow building mates.

After glancing at them, he looked at the chasing beast. He gripped the katana tightly, waiting for a good chance to strike.

Slowly, he channeled the starlight energy into the katana blade. In the blink of an eye, the blade flickered with silver light.

The Medicine Department Beast Tamers were three females. Upon seeing him, they were shocked because they recognized him.

The famous loner who was the representative of the fallen department. He also studied alone on the top floor of their building.

”Jeremy Night, do you think you can take down the beast?” one of them asked. She was a short lady with a loud voice. Her companions also hesitated upon seeing him.

They knew what the Striker Department represented. Their Beast Tamers fought using their bodies alone. Three of them had heard of his A-Grade Talent as well. That’s why there was a dilemma.

By the time the Corrupted Dog Beast caught up to them,

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night moved from his spot and initiated the strike.

Slash!

The Corrupted Beast leaped towards him after seeing him charge. Jeremy slashed with precision. The starlight blade penetrated deep into the beast’s body, leaving behind a terrible cut.

Pfff!

Blood splattered on the ground. The Corrupted Beast felt danger and tried to move its injured body to run away. Jeremy snorted and made another cut. The blade came down, slicing the neck area.

This strike brought the Corrupted Beast closer to death. Seeing the beast not moving away from the spot, Jeremy decisively severed the half-neck next.

Pfff!

The head rolled over the ground after being separated from the body. Then he placed the decapitated head into the storage ring.

Realizing that he was exposed, he left the place immediately in search of a new one.

The three female Beast Tamers were awestruck. Shock and disbelief were evident on their faces. According to rumors, Jeremy Night couldn’t fight against Corrupted Beasts like others.

Because he didn’t have a suitable Lifeline beast. Right now, they had witnessed that this was not the case. The top graders could kill Tier-1 and Tier-2 Corrupted Beasts without the help of their Lifeline beasts.

Some of them were not using their Lifeline beasts for this reason. But others weren’t using them because they had recently bonded with their Lifeline beasts. So their beasts were not combat-trained.

If they took out their Lifeline beasts to fight, there was a chance they would be killed by Corrupted Beasts here.

”Let’s go, we should not believe in any rumors,” the short female Beast Tamer said.

The other two nodded their heads as well. Hereafter, they would show a friendly response to Jeremy Night. Because the strong are respected.

Outside,

The Department Instructors were shocked. Everyone’s eyes were on Jeremy Night’s duel. They had witnessed how this young man came out of the shop to rescue the three female Beast Tamers of the Medicine Department.

They had underestimated Jeremy Night earlier. Seeing how he had slain a Tier-2 Corrupted Beast so easily surprised everyone.

”Instructor Jacob, I thank your student Jeremy Night for rescuing our students,” a middle-aged woman said all of a sudden. She was the Instructor of the Medicine Department.

”Ha... Ha... Ha..., don’t mention it. We were fellow Beast Tamers first,” Jacob Henry said with a smile.

The Attack Department Instructor hummed slightly. His expression was lost due to earlier remarks. The child Jeremy Night turned out to be good.

The other Instructors showed complicated expressions. They had gloatingly underestimated him earlier without realizing the truth. They now understood why Dean Carolyn chose to bet on this kid.

From now on, they decided not to look down upon the Striker Department. As long as the kid was alive with his A-Grade Talent, the Striker Department might develop from its fallen position.

The Elemental and Control Department Instructors’ eyes flashed with surprise. Jeremy Night’s fight demonstrated that he was familiar with hunting and killing.

Unlike others, both of them had noticed the katana blade’s white power. It was distinctive; if one didn’t look closely, they would miss it.

But these two people had seen it, including Jeremy Night and Ariel Burt. However, even if they knew, they couldn’t reveal it because it was confidential information.

”See... That kid is doing fine,” Ariel said with a smile.

”Yes, I was worried for nothing,” Jacob revealed with a bitter smile. But he was much more relaxed compared to before.

Jeremy Night was finally able to show his strength in front of everyone by taking down the Tier-2 Corrupted Beast in just a few moves. This showed that he was on par with representatives from other departments.

Except for the S-Graders, who would be one level above Jeremy Night.

...

Dean’s office:

A few minutes ago,

Dean Carolyn was still in her office. She didn’t know why she wanted to confirm Jeremy’s talent. So far, everything was on record.

She wanted to witness that kid’s strength directly.

Then she saw changes on the screen. Jeremy stepped out to help the Beast Tamers.

Carolyn’s eyes flashed with a gleam. She saw that kid’s katana blade shine with silver light. She raised her eyebrows in surprise.

”The silver light is not his talent but his Lifeline beast,” she muttered to herself.

She quickly figured out the new power and where it came from.

”No wonder his information is confidential,” she uttered.

She then considered Jeremy’s Supreme Combat Body talent coupled with the mysterious silver light. It could be comparable to above-average S-Grade Talent.

Some powerful A-Grade talents were comparable to some S-Grade talents. Since Jeremy’s talent had the word ”Supreme,” she thought it was not unfair to rate his talent higher.
