STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

As Jeremy’s serious expression settled on his face, Ron hesitated to stress the matter further. He glanced at Nora, hoping she could help ease their son’s anxiety.

”Son, don’t overthink it. I have confidence in you; I believe you will awaken a strong talent,” Nora said with a reassuring smile.

Jeremy pushed aside his unnecessary worries and looked at his mother. She was right; there was no point in fretting about it.

Nora then took the Golden Pill out of her storage ring. She looked at her son and explained, ”This Golden Pill was found by my late grandfather. We don’t know its specific purpose, but we suspect it’s a treasure useful for Beast Tamers.”

At this, Jeremy’s eyes sparkled with excitement. He felt his parents were doing everything they could to ensure his successful awakening.

Taking the Golden Pill in his hands, Jeremy felt an inexplicable sense that something positive would come from consuming it.

”Do you want to take the pill?” Ron asked, his expression filled with anticipation.

”As far as I know, the pill is safe to consume. I’ve checked it myself, and it doesn’t contain any toxic substances. So, what will you decide to do?” Nora added for clarity.

”Are you planning to take it now?” Ron reiterated, his eyes glimmering with hope.

”Jeremy, the choice is yours. I believe you could awaken your talent even without the pill,” Nora said with concern, wanting her son to be capable of protecting himself without relying on external help.

”Father is enthusiastic about this,” Jeremy thought. He suspected his dad understood that the Golden Pill was indeed a treasure, but wasn’t sure of its effects.

Should I consume it or not? Perhaps this pill could enhance my talent awakening. As this thought crossed his mind, he felt a surge of confidence that the chances of successfully awakening a talent would increase with the pill.

A determined glimmer appeared in Jeremy’s eyes.

”Father! Mother! There are still two hours before the ceremony begins, so I’ve decided to take the pill right away,” Jeremy declared boldly.

”That’s good; you’re showing courage, my son,” Ron said with a smile. He was confident the pill wouldn’t pose any threat to his son, although he remained uncertain about its benefits.

”This?” Nora exclaimed, startled.

”You’re worrying needlessly, Nora. Let him benefit from the pill,” Ron said firmly.

Nora fell silent in response.

”Don’t worry, Mother. Nothing will happen to me,” Jeremy assured her before heading back to his room.

...

After returning to the room, he shut the door. He took away all the hesitation in his mind and sat cross-legged on the ground to swallow a pill. He swallowed the Golden Pill without hesitation.

Warm energy goes down the throat and enters the stomach. From there the warm energy starts penetrating various parts of the body, including skin, flesh, bones, tendons, meridians and inner organs.

Argh!

A muffled grunt left his mouth as he began to experience the heart-wrenching pain. The pain is so immense that it’s tearing his soul apart.

Jeremy doesn’t know what kind of Pill it is. But he thinks there is no gain without pain. So he closed his eyes and tried to focus on something else to distract from the pain.

Time passed,

Both Ron and Nora are patiently waiting in the Main Hall. They are hoping that the Golden Pill will bring out the full potential of Jeremy right before the awakening ceremony.

Meanwhile,

Little Rock High School is busy with an awakening ceremony today. The other high schools are preparing for the same events as well.

But the spotlight is on the 3 Elite High Schools. Little Rock is one of them, and it attracted the attention of the media people more.

They are reporters from famous news media and independent journals. Even someone from the news outlet of City A has come here as well.

Which shows the importance of the event today. Everyone is expecting Little Rock High School to produce shocking talent. Such a person can join a powerful university in City A.

That being said, the student who attracted everyone’s attention was nowhere to be seen. It’s already getting late for the ceremony but the student has yet to arrive.

The person is none other than Jeremy Night, the son of Ron Night. The Night Family is one of the Administrators of the City C.

The Heirs of the other 2 Families were studying in the other 2 Elite High Schools. So everyone’s attention turned to Jeremy Night.

Principal Hubert’s expression was dark. He could hear the complaints and murmur of everyone. But nothing can be done. The Night Family is one of the administrators here.

He can’t ask for an explanation. But he is sure that they must be on their way here. He has short black hair and eyes. He is Tier-4, 7th Rank Beast Tamer. He is weaker than the Head of the 3 families.

But his strength is similar to the principles of the other 2 Elite High Schools. For this ceremony, no special person is required. Each high school is provided with an awakening stone. As long as the student places their hand on the stone.

Then, the bright colour will appear, and their talent will appear in the students’ minds. Based on the intensity of colour, they can vaguely classify the talent ranks into different categories. From F Rank to S Rank Talent.

Inside the Jeremy Room, the pain starts to recede. At one point, the pain disappears completely. Jeremy opens his eyes and checks out his body.

He found the black sludge covering his skin. Seeing that his good dress was destroyed. He hurriedly stood up and went to take a bath.

After removing the dress, he started taking a cold shower. He slowly started to feel changes in his body. My physique has changed. The body muscles appear to be well-toned. The body feels much lighter.

His thinking became a lot more clear. He feels he can do a lot of analysis and calculations right now. He has only heard of this while studying books before.

Beast Tamers often consumed treasure to strengthen themselves. Normally, it’s not necessary. You can break through to reach the next tier as long as the Lifeline beast levels up. So people mostly pay attention to the growth of the Lifeline beast.

But there are exceptions like the Strikers. If the tamed beast is an auxiliary type beast, then the Strikers don’t have a choice other than to take the role of attacker.

So this pill has given another option. Even if he awakens a low-level talent, he can rely on his physique to survive and become a powerful striker.

Setting aside those thoughts, he continued taking his shower.
