Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong finally caught on, ”So in this situation, he actually realized there’s an issue with the Descendants of Flor’s price, but still chose them, which makes you think there’s something fishy about this person?”

Hilveld nodded.

Fang Hong rubbed his forehead, suddenly feeling that he should avoid getting involved in such matters in the future. Trade negotiations and the like are indeed much more troublesome than studying Alchemy.

But he still had a doubt, ”What if that person is just a complete incompetent? Maybe he simply didn’t understand the issue at all and just chose the side that offered a higher price.”

Tang Xin looked a bit sympathetically at her cousin, ”Not to mention what the investors would send a fool to do, even if he were one, we are not.”

She paused, ”What do you think Miss Elisa was doing yesterday?”

Fang Hong was immediately rendered speechless by his sharp-tongued cousin.

Hilveld smiled slightly upon seeing this, ”Regarding this matter, Tangtang and I are fully confident; the Lord Captain just needs to sit back and watch the show.”

Fang Hong then nodded, thinking that indeed his Miss Ship’s Officer was the gentle one.

”But they might have notified the Descendants of Flor.” Tang Xin said at this moment.

Hilveld nodded, ”So we have to be quick and decisive.”

When Silian saw that the two people approaching him were young ladies, he couldn’t help but be a bit taken aback. Although one was slightly older, she wasn’t over her early twenties.

Fortunately, he had seen even younger Invokers, so he quickly settled his emotions, bowed, and asked, ”Are you Miss Tang Xin from the Seven Seas Travel Group?”

Tang Xin stepped forward and nodded, ”And you are?”

”I am Silian, the logistics officer of the Art of Conflict Guild, fully in charge of this guild transaction,” inheriting his battlefield efficiency, Silian preferred getting straight to the point, ”Since you are all aware of the situation’s context, I won’t beat around the bush, I heard you’re willing to offer a higher price than the Descendants of Flor to purchase those Earth Origin Crystals?”

Tang Xin and Hilveld exchanged glances.

She didn’t answer directly but instead questioned, ”Your guild had already discussed a price with us yesterday, don’t you find it inappropriate to suddenly raise it now?”

Silian shook his head and replied, neither humble nor pushy, ”If we had signed a contract with you with black and white terms under Lady Roman’s witness, regardless, the Art of Conflict Guild would honor the contract, as integrity is our foundation. We understand this. But with merely a verbal promise, not even the Scales’ witness, nor would the Commercial Goddess protect that; we are merely pursuing our interests, which is reasonable, isn’t it?”

”Well said.” The sharp-nosed, monkey-faced middle-aged man chimed in at this point, ”Besides, the Descendants of Flor’s credit guarantee is much more reliable, isn’t it? But can you really afford that much money?”

”Mr. Tus,” before Fang Hong and the others could speak, Silian turned his head to interrupt, ”You are the Supervisor; please perform your duties and do not interfere with the transaction.”

Tus snorted but fell silent.

Seeing this scene, even Fang Hong perceived there was something wrong with this guy.

And Tang Xin, having heard Tus’s words, wasn’t angry. She simply smiled and retorted, ”Do the Descendants of Flor have credit? Have you forgotten what they did a year ago?”

”Rumors on the community, just the words of an anonymous informant, and it hasn’t been proven.” Tus squinted.

”Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” Tang Xin countered firmly.

Silian gave a slight cough, ”Ladies and gentlemen, let’s return to the transaction itself. Miss Tang Xin, what price are you willing to offer?”

Tang Xin thought for a moment, ”Fifty-four thousand Lycel per Crassus.”

Crassus is a unit used to measure the density of Ether energy in crystals, which, when converted to Earth Origin Crystals, is about seven kilograms in Crystal Stone.

Hearing this offer, Tus’s expression went from surprise to barely holding back laughter, finally bursting out laughing.

The Invokers from the Art of Conflict Guild also murmured, ”Isn’t this the same price as yesterday?”

”Are you kidding me?”

Silian’s expression changed several times, almost suppressing his anger as he spoke to Tang Xin, ”Please don’t joke around, everyone.”

But Tang Xin shook her head, ”This is no joke.”

Silian appeared deeply disappointed, shaking his head, ”In that case, there’s nothing to discuss. Considering our breach of verbal agreement yesterday, I can accept being mocked this once, but from now on, this transaction is unrelated to you all.”

He turned around, waving his hand, ”Go back.”

Tus also laughed and said, ”I told you, Mr. Silian, it was just a wasted trip.”

Silian kept his voice low, ignoring him.

Tus was left sulking, casting a somewhat malicious glance at this native.

But just at this moment, Tang Xin spoke up from behind them, ”Mr. Silian, do you really think the Descendants of Flor will offer a higher price? You surely know the market price of Earth Origin Crystals. Even if the supply of Primordial Crystal Stones on the market has decreased a bit, its price wouldn’t skyrocket. And as far as I know, the Descendants of Flor haven’t purchased any Ether Crystals since they arrived here, do you think it’s such a coincidence that they suddenly urgently need this batch of Primordial Crystal Stones?”
