Pillar of Yita

”Ade, we might not be able to come over,” Luo Hao’s voice came through the Communication Crystal, ”Where exactly are you? That place is full of turbulence and shear wind zones. The Seven Seas Traveler can’t get through, and it’s shrouded in mist, making it impossible to see what’s below.”

Fang Hong stood on the inclined deck and looked up at the cliffs around him.

”Which direction is the Seven Seas Traveler now?” he asked.

”To the south of where you mentioned,” Luo Hao replied.

”Can you see a narrow Void Canyon?”

There were sounds of movement from the other end of the Communication Crystal. After a moment, a voice returned, ”Ade, yes.”

”Have the Seven Seas Traveler stop in that direction, then lower a small boat.”

The Seven Seas Traveler has two small boats hanging by davits on the ship’s side, although in terms of size, it’s just a dinghy.

These small boats used in the Sky Sea also have Wind Elemental Generators installed. However, they have no power source and rely on the larger ship for charging. The on-board Magic Storage Crystal, when fully charged, can last for seven to eight hours.

Luo Hao sounded a bit surprised, ”What, did you find a lot of things?”

”Hmm, quite a few things.” Fang Hong nodded silently.

Besides the legacy, they explored the whole ship afterward and followed the pre-determined plan to search through the Magic Guided Pilot Cabin, Material Store, and the lower deck.

This is a warship, and the structure of a warship is often relatively simple. From the first deck down, they are through-style cannon decks and sailor quarters.

Some functional cabins, such as the dining room, infirmary, and training room, no longer appeared as before, now covered in dust and cobwebs. The things inside the cabins either decayed and fell apart or piled up together when the airship crashed.

There might still be some useful things in these ruins, but firstly, it is challenging to identify, time-consuming, and labor-intensive. Secondly, they’re not of much value.

The ship’s owner was an Alchemist, so there naturally should be an Alchemy Laboratory on board, and they indeed found the place. The Alchemy Laboratory was on the bow side, but that place was most thoroughly destroyed during the collision, leaving nothing valuable.

The same goes for the Anchor Room. Fang Hong initially thought he could recover the Anchor Stone, but the Anchor Room completely disappeared in the collision, and the two ship anchors were nowhere to be found.

But it wasn’t all for nothing. At least they found a spare anchor compartment near the bow, where they found a stored piece of Anchor Stone. Although it was only half a piece, it was bigger than what the two anchors on the Seven Seas Traveler used combined.

This half-piece of Anchor Stone, of course, is worth a lot, but Fang Hong doesn’t plan to sell it. Firstly, the Seven Seas Traveler doesn’t have a spare, and secondly, they might need Anchor Stone for building larger ships in the future.

Of course, the most important thing needs to be repeated twice: the Seven Seas Travel Group is not short of money at the moment.

Fang Hong rarely finds himself in such a financially comfortable position.

The Material Store is located right below the Anchor Compartment. As expected by Fang Hong, it stores a large amount of ship lumber. These are naturally not ordinary ship materials but Magic Blackwood, and even some Holy White Oak from the Giant Tree Hill, though it’s unknown how these pirates got them — it’s the best material for making figureheads, although Fang Hong doesn’t know if the Elf Miss would have any opinion on that.

The Holy White Oak Tree is the Holy Tree of Ameya, strictly forbidden by the Forest Temple to be cut down. Obviously, these pirates didn’t obtain these Holy White Oaks through any legal means.

Besides, the Material Store also held a large amount of Mithril and some Star Gold, and some rare metals, like Star Gold and Wind-Weaved Silk. The former is a very rare Alchemy material, while the latter is used for making sails.

However, the Seven Seas Traveler has an unlimited supply of Silver Mane Spider Silk. These things can be sold, which is pretty valuable too.

After passing through the Material Store, the Magic Guided Pilot Cabin of this ship was located centrally on the lower level, and that place was also heavily damaged in the collision, the only thing that could be salvaged was the Core Crystal.

They also found the Wind Detector, but it was also completely destroyed, leaving no recovery value.

There’s no way around it; these Magic Guided Instruments count as the precise instruments on the ship—precise instruments are just so expensive and delicate.

The lower deck of this ship has completely submerged into the mist, which actually counts as being below the sea level of the Cloud Sea.

Therefore, it was also the most thoroughly infiltrated by creatures here, with thick Wind Elements eroding the ship planks. Elemental Moss Cloth and Sky Sea Anemones grew in the corridors, along with corals and Sky Sea Algae.

There were also some peculiar coelenterate creatures — unlike their Earthly counterparts, these organisms are composed of a single Element, mostly weightless, glowing, and even able to float in the air, surviving by filtering Elements from the air.

They encountered their second combat since departing the Captain’s Cabin, with the opponent being a large jellyfish — a formidable fighter that even released poison, taking the team a cautious effort to bring it down.

After defeating the jellyfish, Fang Hong discovered a hole in the bottom hold, the big creature must have come in through here.

However, this discovery made him feel that the haul below would likely be scarce, and indeed, the facts proved so. Part of the cargo in the bottom hold had rolled into the Abyss below through the hole, while another part had been rendered useless from Wind Element erosion.

They spent considerable time salvaging some supplies from it, mainly the ship’s spare armaments.

Including three cannons, corresponding cannonballs, and Energy Storage Crystals. Plus, several Xiangzi boxes of armor and swords, these Empire standard equipments are almost certainly hot goods and can only be circulated on the black market.
