Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 200: Chapter 188: Strongest Purple-Level Spear, Uninvited Guest

Picking up Keke who was lying on the core, Xu Xin raised an eyebrow at the state of the charging slot.

Unexpectedly, the self-healing speed of this parasitic treehouse is so fast.

The once broken floor had fully regrown, now exposing only half of the slightly glowing core that was charging.

Xu Xin removed the charging core, revealing a circular slot specifically meant for the core on the previously even floor.

It seems like the floor won’t continue to repair itself anymore, and this charging slot is now fixed here.

”Click.” He placed the fully charged core into the slot, and the core that originally emitted a faint light suddenly shone much brighter, followed by a notification sound.

[The core of the low treehouse has completed charging]

He waited for a moment, but nothing happened.

It seems that the brighter glow only served as a reminder that the core was fully charged, urging him to take it out and use it.

He also considered that the parasitic treehouse was only parasitic near the host treehouse due to a lack of a core. If it had a treehouse core, could it become a normal treehouse? If successful, he might be able to fully transfer the treehouse in the future.

Nearby his treehouse lurked a Lake Giant Python in a bottomless lake, and not far to the northwest was an unknown monster and a sacrificial altar. Although this location was resource-rich, it was indeed too dangerous, and he should be prepared for the worst.

However, it now seems unlikely. For the treehouse core, this parasitic treehouse is just a charging device.

He picked up the fully charged treehouse core, replacing it with the energy-depleted one.

Keke comfortably lay on it again, while Xu Xin came to stand before the treehouse monitor and activated it.

In the main menu, Xu Xin discovered a new item.

[Core Charging], a newly unlocked feature.

Upon opening it, there was only a newly accumulated progress bar and a line of small text.

Treehouse core charging speed: 100%

This 100% refers to the charging speed, not the charging progress.

However, since there’s a speed, can it be increased?

...Décor Level!

Xu Xin immediately checked the décor level crafting list on the parasitic treehouse screen, and sure enough, among all the wooden plaques, he found a [Charging Room Plaque], unique to the parasitic treehouse, which can increase the charging speed of the treehouse core!

Awesome, he almost forgot, the parasitic treehouse is also an independent treehouse, which can also increase the décor level and add points to each functional area!

He needed to consider whether to increase the décor level of the parasitic treehouse. After all, the production speed of purple resources was indeed crucial. He checked the allocatable quota of the treehouse again.

[Current treehouse décor level: 0, total allocatable improvement rate: 0%]

It seems that the décor level between the main treehouse and the parasitic treehouse is not shared. He still had some improvement rate over there, but it couldn’t be added here. Probably this side can’t be added to that side either.

To this end, Xu Xin brought over a small statue from his treehouse, and indeed, it couldn’t add back to his main treehouse. However, he was pleasantly surprised to find that the parasitic treehouse here could enjoy a 20% décor level increase from him!

Not bad!

However, he didn’t plan to create a charging room to speed up the charging of the treehouse core yet; it was something to plan for later since his main treehouse’s décor level wasn’t sufficient yet!

After bringing the small statue back to the main treehouse, Xu Xin arrived at the crafting room, in front of the weapons and armor crafting table.

With the ability to obtain purple-grade resources steadily and possibly even accelerate the acquisition speed, it made him feel that purple resources were no longer that precious.

He directly upgraded a piece of wood (blue) to wood (purple), prepared all the materials, and clicked to craft the steel lance.

[The success rate of crafting this weapon is 66% (60+6), do you want to continue crafting?]

...Almost forgot, tools above the purple grade begin to have a crafting success rate!

He had added a 60% boost point to the crafting room, which translated to only one-tenth in success rate, thus a 6% increase. From this, the base success rate for crafting a purple-grade steel lance was 60%.

In contrast, the success rate for alchemy materials of the blue-grade was only 50%! The success rate for alchemy is really very low.

Xu Xin moved the backrest chair (blue) he had always kept in the crafting room to the weapons and armor crafting table. The backrest chair (blue) could increase the crafting success rate, and he had made it a long time ago, and it finally came in handy.

But unfortunately, the backrest chair (blue) could not increase the success rate of alchemy. It seems that the décor level increase needed for the alchemy room is much more than he imagined.

The wood chair (blue) increased the crafting success rate of the steel lance (purple) by another 10%, bringing it to 76%.

Coupled with the effect of having a koi fish effect, the success rate should reach around 90%.

However, he was still uneasy and opened the décor level option.

[Current treehouse décor level: 319.68 (266.4+53.28), total allocatable improvement rate: 48%]

Xu Xin allocated an additional 40% of the points to the crafting room, bringing the increment points of the crafting room to 100%, and the success rate reached 80%.

That should be enough.

Xu Xin gritted his teeth and clicked to craft.

The materials disappeared, and under his tense gaze, finally, a ball of purple light appeared.

Xu Xin let out a long sigh of relief, reaching out to grab the ball of light, and a weapon that looked extremely sharp and gleaming appeared in his hand.

”Huh?” Xu Xin looked at the weapon in his hand, slightly puzzled.

This weapon, although a long handle, was not a lance, but a halberd.

With a spearhead as the main, one side is a transverse blade, and the other side is a hook-like spike, and the steel halberd shaft makes one shiver at the sight.

He did craft a steel lance... could it be that for tools above purple grade, the crafted weapons no longer look like the blueprint but start to randomly appear in other forms of long-handle weapons?

However, this is really great!

The spear, while having a wide attack range, mainly attacks through thrusting, making it quite difficult to handle against vine-like slender enemies. But a halberd can slash, making its attack style more flexible compared to the lance.

He immediately looked at the introduction of this long spear.

[Steel Long Spear (Purple): A long spear made from steel (Purple), a combination of halberd and spear, a combat weapon with dual functions of hooking and piercing, and is the hardest and sharpest weapon of its level! Striking the enemy allows absorption of the opponent’s vitality, restoring one’s own injuries, spirit, and stamina, becoming more courageous with each battle!]

”Hiss—” Xu Xin gasped, this spear, so powerful!

This is simply a treasure to defeat the strong with the weak! Even when facing entities stronger than oneself, as long as there is room to maneuver, it can directly grind down the opponent!

Moreover, not just against strong enemies, but also when facing weaker but numerous enemies, he can wield this weapon and charge into them, swinging expansively without worrying about injury, fatigue, or exhaustion, truly the perfect weapon for sweeping through hordes!

No wonder it’s a Purple-grade weapon, it has such formidable abilities!

Impressive, truly impressive!

Admiring this Purple-grade long weapon for quite a while, Xu Xin put it into his backpack, then climbed down from his main tree house [Fourteen States], and arrived at [Parasite Tree House 02], controlling the roots to enter inside.

He chiseled open the floor, placing the second depleted [Low Small Tree House Core] into the groove for recharging.

In five days, he could gain two more pieces of Purple-grade resources.

Xu Xin walked to the window of Parasite Tree House 02, looking at his own tree house.

In comparison, it really felt like his tree house was large. The two-story parasite tree house seemed like a baby in front of the main tree house [Fourteen States]. However, the baby had its own functions, especially this recharging function.

He planned to go back and carve, although the Green-grade crystal carving of the main tree house already reached the maximum number, the parasite tree house didn’t, Xu Xin could still use Green-grade crystals to enhance their decoration.

Just as he was preparing to climb down from the parasite tree house back to his main tree house, his body froze, his hand near the tree house exit suddenly stopped.

Someone.

There are other survivors nearby!

His extraordinary hearing captured the sound of someone speaking, the voice was very faint, indicating quite a distance, coming from the west of the tree house.

West is the direction he hadn’t explored today.

He didn’t go, but survivors from that side came looking for him?

Now, the survivors who could cross over ten kilometers to find other tree houses were definitely few, and among the best.

Xu Xin immediately became alert, pondering a question.

Why are there voices?

There are two possibilities, one is a group of survivors coming together, the other is a survivor who ranks top ten in forest exploration activities from another district, possessing a watch held by [Explorers], able to contact others outside the tree house.

Wait, could it be an Explorer member crossing several districts to come here?

Xu Xin directly asked in the [Explorers] group: ”Are any of you outside now?”

Wang Lei: ”I didn’t go out, there’s no resource outside, and I still don’t know where other tree houses are, where to look?”

Li Wenxi: ”I’m outside mining.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”I’m still outside, what’s up? Have you found something?”

Wen Guixin: ”I just came back, got a tree house core, this thing is really nice!”

Then, everyone else spoke up, Xu Xin excluded their possibilities.

Xu Xin: ”There are people here coming towards me, I can hear voices, asking if it’s any of you.”

Xu Xin’s words instantly stirred up the Explorers.

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Wow, Brother Xin is going to meet other survivors! With Brother Xin’s reputation, just reporting his name and the opposite side might directly bow in admiration!”

Zhao Xiaochuan clearly thought, the survivors they could meet must be from Jungle District 188.

Qi Xuefei: ”Don’t let your guard down, too many backstabbers, even if you have saved their life, they might still do something bad to you!”

Qin Yunlong: ”Indeed, I think we should just drive them away.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”Being ruthless is fine.”

Ji Chaoyang knew the people nearby weren’t from his own district of survivors.

Wen Guixin: ”Why do I feel the tree houses around aren’t from our district? I remember last night our district didn’t have anyone killed?”

Seems like Wen Guixin also noticed this situation.

However, Xu Xin didn’t have time to explain to her now.

Since none of them were from his group, Xu Xin’s expression became serious. It must be survivors from other districts.

Xu Xin didn’t go out from Parasite Tree House 02, it was planted on the west side of his tree house, closer to the sound. He leaned by the window, listening carefully.

Gradually, he could hear clearly what was being said over there.

”I can already see that tree house, so tall! It’s taller than my tree house, isn’t it the kind that’s planted at the start in Blue-grade soil and grew out into a Purple-grade tree house!”

”It glowed during the rainy season activity, surely it’s this tree house, the survivor inside must be strong!”

”If I manage to kill this survivor, take this tree house, and plant it back in my protected area, one would be worth ten of yours!”

Hearing these words, Xu Xin’s eyes narrowed, and the corners of his mouth curled into a mocking smile.

Today’s random ability of hearing amplification, really not bad, being able to hear voices over nearly a thousand meters.

They’ve been heard.

Kill me?

Just perfect to test the new weapon.
