Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 167: Chapter 161: Explosion! (4,400 words!)_2

However, the three burning arrows from before had already ignited three spots on the vine ball, spreading rapidly, causing most of the vines to be engulfed in flames!

The outer vines, reborn, frantically slapped against the burning vine ball, but to no avail. The vines’ juices were excellent fuel, and the fire spread quickly.

Some vines even caught fire themselves as they slapped, twisting endlessly in the flames, only to be attacked by their former companions beside them and torn to pieces.

”Go!” Xu Xin saw that they could no longer extinguish the flames and instantly mounted the wolf, lying down flat on Silver King’s back. Silver King, seeing Xu Xin properly settled, immediately vaulted forward towards the ground.

The tunnel was two meters wide and high, spacious enough that under normal riding conditions one might hit their head, but lying flat on Silver King’s back posed no problems.

Silver King could dash out in just dozens of seconds over a distance less than a kilometer. Soon, one person and four animals were charging onto the ground.

Xu Xin flipped off the wolf, looked towards the depths of the ground hole, thick smoke filled half of the tunnel and was billowing upward.

To be honest, he thought this ascent could have been dangerous. Ji Chaoyang lost contact with him while on this path.

What’s up with that guy, suddenly losing contact for no good reason.

In the [Explorers] group, Wang Lei had just gotten rid of the pursuit of those mutant flying insects.

Wang Lei: ”Oh my god, those bugs finally left, my face is swollen beyond recognition, it hurts so much...”

Qi Xuefei: ”Apply blue-level hemostatic grass, don’t save it if you’re injured. I have plenty of hemostatic grass.”

She was quite generous. But it was under her suggestion that Wang Lei forced himself to explore, giving this assurance was indeed necessary.

Wang Lei: ”I’ll use it then!”

Qi Xuefei: ”Go ahead, use it.”

Wen Guixin: ”...I have already explored the second cave, still not the heart Xu Xin mentioned, but like yours, there were a few big red flowers and bugs.”

Xu Xin: ”I saw that ’heart’.”

Xu Xin shared his experience with them and advised the two that if they saw the fleshy heart, do not hesitate, just shoot burning arrows at it.

If he had set it on fire before the heart lit up, there wouldn’t have been all those troublesome problems afterward.

Thick smoke was already pouring out from the ground hole, carrying a pungent scorched smell; it seemed the vines below were burnt badly.

Li Wenxi: ”Wow, that sounds really dangerous...”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Just thinking about a big throbbing flesh heart under my treehouse makes me panic, Brother Xin, now we can’t contact Boss Ji either, it’s up to you to save us!”

Qin Yunlong: ”What’s going on with Ji Chaoyang, could he be in trouble?”

Wang Lei: ”Hey, Boss Ji is so strong, what could happen, his name isn’t grey, the guy is alive and well. Brother Xin also lost contact for a long time back in the dungeon, surely he’s fine. By the way, burning vine clusters, sounds exhilarating! Can’t use fire in the forest, I’ve been wanting to try it!”

Wang Lei was optimistic but also reminded Xu Xin. Ji Chaoyang could very well have gone somewhere without signal like Xu Xin did back in the dungeon.

However, he lost contact when moving away from the heart, where could he go, the tunnel only leads out, there’s no place without signal.

Wait. At that time, Ji Chaoyang told him he was leaving, moving away from the heart.

But that doesn’t mean he exited; perhaps he’s still underground, finding other tunnels. With his hearing, picking up sounds to find another entrance might indeed be possible.

Xu Xin looked at the ground hole still billowing smoke. Could there be other passages below?

Wen Guixin also spoke in the group: ”Vine clusters? Hmm... I don’t need to use fire, with fire, I’d have to run too. I’ll use my own method.”

Coming back to senses, Xu Xin saw her words, a bitter smile appeared as he shook his head.

In terms of combat power, he truly admires Wen Guixin; she no longer avoids the topic and directly admits her high combat power is due to her special abilities, although she never elaborates.

Nobody knows what sort of special ability she possesses, truly enviable.

The smoke was slowly thinning, turning to wisps, it seemed the burning below was nearing an end. The underground’s limited oxygen wouldn’t allow prolonged burning.

Silver King and Mimi lay in the lee, Afu crouched on Mimi’s back, quietly waiting for the smoke to clear. Keke, however, ran curiously around the smoky hole, accidentally getting smoked, turning itself black, even its big tail was black.

Xu Xin, both amused and helpless, picked up Keke, forcefully patting it.

”Eek! Eek eek!” Keke protested, but in vain. Xu Xin didn’t want a little coal ball crawling onto him.

Luckily, Keke had a natural gift for cleanliness, Xu Xin noticed while bathing it before, this little guy barely attracted any dirt, the bathwater stayed clean, so after a few pats, a fresh little panda reappeared.

Keke climbed up his arm to his shoulder.

The ground hole finally stopped emitting black smoke.

Better go down soon to check, before the vines revive and flourish again.
