Berserk God of War

Chapter 456: Chapter 456: Add Some Excitement

But at this moment, Ning Jingjing reported to Beigong Xianfeng with an expressionless face.

”Commander, this woman’s name is Yan Ruyu.”

”She was someone I brought out from the Canglong Small Domain, and after she joined the Long Night Black Burning Army, she deserted. She is now a deserter.”

As these words were spoken, Yan Ruyu’s whole body trembled slightly.

However, she quickly stopped caring, because she had Seventh Prince Ji Ming, who would surely protect her.

”A deserter?” Hearing this, Beigong Xianfeng’s eyes turned stern as he looked towards Ji Ming and barked coldly, ”Seventh Prince, you actually took a deserter from the Long Night Black Burning Army as a concubine? What does this make of our military discipline?”

”General Ning, take this woman back to the Long Night Black Burning Camp and execute her on the spot!”

The aged voice vibrated through the crowd, and everyone who thought that with Seventh Prince Ji Ming present, even Beigong Xianfeng would not dare to touch Yan Ruyu, was suddenly panicked — a direct execution!

She looked at Ji Ming with bewilderment.

Yet Ji Ming’s complexion changed drastically, and he quickly stood up, suppressing his anger as he said, ”Beigong Old Commander, I ask for your leniency in this matter.”

He was not unaware of Yan Ruyu’s status as a deserter, but he did not expect Beigong Xianfeng to disregard his dignity.

But military matters, even as the Seventh Prince, were beyond his influence. Beigong Xianfeng’s position in the Long Night Empire was too high and too significant, and now not only could Ji Ming not deal with Ning Jingjing, the Little General, but he had to humble himself and beg.

Beigong Xianfeng looked at him coldly and sighed, ”Seventh Your Highness, you have greatly disappointed me, begging for mercy for a deserter... But then again, who made you the first young master of the Long Night Empire.”

At once, Yan Ruyu breathed a sigh of relief.

But in the next instant, Beigong Xianfeng shouted again, ”General Ning, slap this deserter ten times in the face as punishment.”

Upon this command, Ji Ming’s face underwent a great change — he was to be penalized after all.

And Ning Jingjing saluted heavily, ”Yes, Commander!”

Having said this, she strode towards Yan Ruyu, lifted her up, and then, with a ”slap, slap, slap,” delivered ten resounding slaps, throwing her onto the ground after it was done, and looked back at Beigong Xianfeng, saying, ”Commander, it is done!”

”Hmm, let’s go in!”

Beigong Xianfeng said emotionlessly, then proceeded with Ning Jingjing and Vice Commander Cao Yi, among others, striding into the Court Hunting Ground.

Only Ji Ming and Ji Han were left behind with ashen faces.

As for Yan Ruyu, her head was buzzing from the slaps, her face swelling up like a pig’s head.

Inside, she roared in fury, ”Sikong Jing, Ning Jingjing, and Beigong Xianfeng, I won’t let any of you off.”

Yan Ruyu knew well that Ning Jingjing now had an inseparable relationship with Sikong Jing.

These ten slaps were indeed meant for herself, on behalf of Sikong Jing.

”Ji Ming, Beigong Xianfeng has gone too far, not even showing you respect,” Ji Han’s eyes brimmed with a cold fury.

And Ji Ming, with a flash of cold light in his eyes, spoke slowly, ”Just wait, this old man will soon be underground, and I will find a way to take control of his Long Night Black Burning Army. For now, we’ll just have to bear with him.”

After speaking, his expression turned brooding as he looked towards Yan Ruyu on the ground, ”Someone, take Yan Ruyu back to the chariot to recover.”

No sooner had he spoken than Yan Ruyu looked up and called out, ”Seventh Your Highness, I won’t go back to recover; I want to see Sikong Jing die with my own eyes.”

Slap!

However, what met Yan Ruyu was another heavy slap from Ji Ming.

”You want to follow me around with that face, intending to disgrace me? Get in the chariot now.”

As she watched Ji Ming and Ji Han enter the Court Hunting Ground, Yan Ruyu’s teeth gritted noisily.

”Bastards, bastards, bastards... You will all die.”

Yan Ruyu swore vengeance in her heart. She, the Ninth Princess of the Great Shang Dynasty, when had she ever been treated like this?

But this was the Long Night Empire, so she had no choice but to obediently return to the interior of the beast chariot and await the good news of Sikong Jing’s great defeat.

...

The Court Hunting Ground had a luxurious wooden platform, which used to be the place where the Long Night Emperor and the empire’s nobles went hunting.

But at this moment, the people from the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace and the Long Night Star Palace were standing on opposite sides of the high platform, while at the very center were Beigong Xianfeng, Ji Ming, Ji Han, and others, filling the whole platform with a cold aura of murderous intent.

Then, Beigong Xianfeng stepped forward and asked, ”Both Palace Masters, is it time to begin?”

Yu Wenxiong spoke slowly, ”Qin Heng, let’s begin now according to the rules we’ve agreed upon.”

”Okay!” Qin Heng took a deep breath and responded with some tension.

Next, a hundred students from both palaces stepped out, with Peng Peng leading the three dressed in Xingluo General Academy uniforms from the Xingluo Academy side.

On the Holy Dragon Palace side, Sikong Jing led the group...

”Hand over the Innate and Xuantian treasures.”

According to the rules previously set by the negotiations between the two major academies, the participants of the deathmatch were not allowed to bring any Innate or Xuantian treasures and so on.

The students from both sides could only surrender their treasures as instructed, and then summoned their demon beast mounts, which would scatter the two hundred students from both sides into various positions within the Court Hunting Ground, completely mixing up all the students within it.

This, too, was a rule set by the two major academies.

The Palace Hunting Ground was very large, and once two hundred people entered, finding teammates would not be an easy task.

As they began, they all needed to fight on their own.

Thus, with a single command from the two major academies, the demon beast mounts took the two hundred students into the hunting ground.

Each was scattered across the mountain forest under the watchful eyes of experts.

Just as all the students had been scattered, Beigong Xianfeng summoned three huge flying birds, each carrying members of the three factions high into the sky, from where they would observe the battle.

At that moment, another mount soared into the sky, carrying a middle-aged man wearing a jade pendant.

The crowd instinctively looked over.

The middle-aged man smiled faintly and, cupping his fist towards Ji Ming and Beigong Xianfeng, said, ”From the Overlord Commerce, I am Hua Lidian.”

With that, the middle-aged man also landed below Beigong Xianfeng, onto the huge flying bird mount.

A flash of understanding shone in the crowd’s eyes; the Overlord Commerce was the collector of the East Plain Thousand Dominator List, and they came to observe the battle.

Of course, their main purpose was to observe Peng Peng.

With the Overlord Commerce’s power being unrivaled in the East Plain Northern Land and their aura shrouded in mystery, they could come and go as they pleased without fear of anyone stopping or offending them.

Similarly, the Overlord Commerce would not take part in any factional struggles...

Beigong Xianfeng’s eyes gleamed with anticipation that the Overlord Commerce’s presence this time would surely bring unexpected gains.

Although the Long Night Star Palace had Peng Peng, who ranked 936th on the Thousand Tyrant List, Sikong Jing was bound to triumph, as he had not struggled to defeat Ji Han, and Peng Peng was likely only marginally stronger than Ji Han, if at all.

At this moment, Ji Ming approached with a chuckle, ”Senior Hua, since you’re here, why not host a bet for us?”

After a brief pause, Ji Ming looked towards Beigong Xianfeng and said, ”Old Commander, we are only observers in this great Academy battle, which is quite uninteresting. How about we spice things up with a bet?”

At these words, a eager glint appeared in the eyes of everyone present.

Narrowing his old eyes slightly, Beigong Xianfeng countered, ”Seventh Prince, what kind of stake do you have in mind?”

”It’s simple. We will each bet on one of the academies. If I win, I will ask the Old Commander for something, and if I lose, I will give the Old Commander a corresponding item. How about it?” suggested Ji Ming offhandedly with a smile.

Beigong Xianfeng raised an eyebrow, smiling, ”The Seventh Prince cannot just ask for anything though, like my Commander Seal, which I cannot give.”

Upon hearing this, Ji Ming laughed heartily, ”Of course, I won’t ask for something outrageous. What I want is your Dark Wing Commander.”
