Berserk God of War

Chapter 452: Chapter 452: The Battlefield, Court Hunting Ground

Beigong Xianfeng just recalled that Ji Han would not usually appear at the Long Night Black Burning Camp, hence his query.

Ji Han trembled slightly all over and, after pausing for quite a while, finally explained slowly the purpose of his visit.

”Tomorrow, exactly when the students of the Holy Dragon Palace and the Xingluo Palace from the Long Night will have their life-or-death battle, they will use the Court Hunting Ground for the duel. My imperial brother instructed me and the Beigong Commander to oversee and maintain the safety of the hunting ground,” he said.

”At the same time, to prevent a major battle from breaking out between the warriors of the two palaces.”

After speaking, Ji Han strode away quickly, followed rapidly by a dozen robed guards.

Only after Ji Han had departed did Beigong Xianfeng turn to Sikong Jing, asking in confusion, ”The life-or-death battle between the Holy Dragon Palace and the Xingluo Palace?”

Beigong Xianfeng had not looked into this matter before.

Sikong Jing nodded and replied, ”Yes, a life-or-death battle involving a hundred students, and I will represent the Long Night Holy Dragon Palace in the fight.”

As he spoke, he briefly mentioned the conflict and stakes between the two major academies, although Sikong Jing had not known until now that the battlefield was set at the Court Hunting Ground of the Long Night Empire, hearing it for the first time.

Upon hearing these words, Beigong Xianfeng’s mouth gaped open as he stared straight at Sikong Jing.

He wanted to say that it seemed the Xingluo Palace from the Long Night was planning to leave the Long Night Emperor and establish a new palace elsewhere.

A battle involving a hundred students, Sikong Jing alone was probably enough, as he was now a figure on the East Plain Thousand Dominator List.

What students from the Xingluo Palace could possibly stand against him in battle?

Thinking this, Beigong Xianfeng smiled and said, ”His Majesty has asked me and Prince Ji Han to jointly maintain the safety of the battle between the two palaces tomorrow. The Dark Wing Camp has just been fully established, so let’s have them carry out this task.”

Saying this, he stared at Sikong Jing and smiled again, ”Brother Sikong, you should take the Dark Wing Camp and head to the Court Hunting Ground now.”

A gleam flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes, as Beigong Xianfeng was clearly providing him support.

Indeed, Beigong Xianfeng then smiled gently and added, ”After you win tomorrow, if something happens, like the Xingluo Palace refusing to accept their loss, the Dark Wing Camp will have its first chance for a trial.”

After saying this, Beigong Xianfeng laughed heartily and returned to his room, obviously in very high spirits.

Sikong Jing gave a slight smile, then turned to look at Ning Jingjing.

”Since the Commander has given the order, let’s go back to the 66th Castle now to muster troops and issue orders!” he said.

Thus, the two rode their mounts to the 66th Castle and then firmly shut the castle’s large gates behind them.

”All warriors of the 66th Army, assemble,” Ning Jingjing commanded, and all the people of the 66th Castle gathered together.

One by one, they stood tall and proud under the city tower. Then Ning Jingjing again commanded, ”Put on, the Dark Wing Soldier masks.”

At her words, the soldiers trembled vigorously, all putting on their masks simultaneously.

And Ning Jingjing had her own mask too. Outwardly, they were the 66th Army, but secretly they were Dark Wing Camp Soldiers, and naturally, each had a mask.

After everyone had donned their masks neatly, Ning Jingjing called out, ”Greet the Dark Wing Commander.”

At these words, the Dark Wing Soldiers trembled mightily.

The original eighty thousand Black-armored Soldiers could guess that the Dark Wing Commander was probably Brother Sikong.

But the newly arrived one hundred twenty thousand soldiers did not know and were all eager to know who the legendary Dark Wing Commander was.

Thud, thud...

Heavy footsteps sounded as Sikong Jing, wearing the Dark Wing Commander mask, appeared on the high city tower, looking down at the two hundred thousand troops below and declared directly, ”I am the Commander of the Dark Wing Camp, refer to me as Dark Wing.”

”Next, we will have our first trial task, maintaining the Court Hunting Ground; everyone set out immediately...”

At these words, the spirit of the crowd was collectively shaken, and following Sikong Jing’s command, the two hundred thousand troops mounted their Black Steeds, departing the 66th Castle and heading directly for the Court Hunting Ground.

Two hours later they arrived, and Beigong Xianfeng had already dispatched someone to coordinate with the stewards of the Court Hunting Ground.

Sikong Jing entered very smoothly and made the arrangements.

He deployed two hundred thousand Dark Wing Soldiers around the Court Hunting Ground as arranging such a troop was naturally effortless for the former Invincible God General of the Great Shang Dynasty. By the time he finished, it was already early in the morning.

At that moment, Sikong Jing looked at Ning Jingjing, ”General Ning, I’ll leave this place to you, I have other matters to attend to.”

Upon hearing this, Ning Jingjing asked in astonishment, ”What else do you have to do? Shouldn’t you be here waiting to go into battle tomorrow?”

”I’m going home to be with my wife!”

After saying this, Sikong Jing mounted the Dark Winged Dragon Eagle and flew straight back to the 66th Town. It was already early in the morning, and Su Yuexi must be anxiously waiting.

He couldn’t stand her up...

Outside the Court Hunting Ground, Ning Jingjing’s mouth fell open as she watched the Dark Winged Dragon Eagle disappear, almost cursing out loud.

Everyone else is tense before a big battle, and here you are rushing home for a rendezvous, damn it!

Sikong Jing arrived back home in the 66th Town, and Su Yuexi indeed had not yet gone to bed; she welcomed him with a surprised, ”Brother Jing!”

”Sorry, I’m late.”

He pinched Su Yuexi’s pretty face under the candlelight and with a smile, he then pushed her down.

In the blink of an eye, it was broad daylight.

Sikong Jing, full of energy, did not wake Su Yuexi. After eating the breakfast Mei Xiaofang had prepared early, he set off for the Court Hunting Ground, planning to meet up with the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace later.

...

At the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, nearly a hundred students gathered in front of the palace gate, led by Qin Lao and Baili Que.

But Sikong Jing was notably absent.

At this moment, Master Yun, looking displeased, stepped forward and said, ”Vice Palace Master Qin, time is almost up, we can’t wait any longer.”

Worry filled everyone’s eyes; Sikong Jing still had not returned. What was he up to?

Possessing the Six Symbols Dragon Sword, Sikong Jing was their biggest trump card in this battle.

Some of the faint-hearted even thought that Sikong Jing might not show up at all.

They feared he fled the battle with Xingluo Palace because he was scared of the life-and-death struggle, knowing that people could die.

Qin Heng took a deep breath and slowly said, ”Bring Ma Daoming, He Jia, and the others from the Long Night Heavenly Dao Palace, and let’s head to the Court Hunting Ground. As for Sikong Jing, he will definitely come.”

People had already been sent to the Long Night Black Burning Camp to find Sikong Jing, and Qin Heng also believed that Sikong Jing would absolutely not desert them in the face of battle.

As for Ma Daoming and He Jia, that was the request of the Heavenly Dao Palace. They had just sent a message saying they wanted to negotiate with the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace at the Court Hunting Ground.

During that time, Chang Wang, the Palace Master of Heavenly Dao, would also be present to observe the battle.

The pressure on Qin Heng was immense...

This battle, between the two palaces’ students, was not just against Xingluo Palace but also involved the Heavenly Dao Palace and Elder Feng Tingfu of the Holy Dragon General Academy.

The battle had to be a victory; otherwise, not only could hundreds of students die, but their entire force might be completely annihilated.

...

Just as Qin Heng was setting out, Sikong Jing arrived at the Court Hunting Ground a step ahead, still wearing his Dark Wing Mask.

And just as he arrived at the hunting ground’s gate, dozens of luxurious beast chariots arrived, and a familiar person alighted from the very first and most luxurious chariot. He was dressed in a golden robe and was none other than Ji Han.

Today, like the Beigong Xianfeng, he was also responsible for maintaining order at the hunting ground.

And as he alighted from the chariot, a second young man stepped down from the first chariot.
