Chapter 493: Chapter 493: The 66th Army, Showdown with the Imperial Guard

”Oh, so when my parents were oppressed and falsely accused, you didn’t put a stop to it?”

”When I was under siege, you didn’t put a stop to it? Now you finally understand what it means to stop?”

Sikong Jing scoffed repeatedly, he was of course aware of the real powerhouses around him.

But as long as they did not act, Sikong Jing would ignore them.

And now, since the Imperial Guard Commander, Huang Yu, had stepped forward, Sikong Jing was ready to fiercely slap his face, despite Huang Yu’s apparent integrity. In truth, he was targeting Sikong Jing.

Huang Yu’s face turned ugly when questioned, but he eventually responded, ”You should understand that you have no chance of winning here. I will report this matter to His Majesty, and he will decide.”

”As long as your family is not a spy, justice will certainly be restored to you.”

If Sikong Jing did not have the backing of the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, Huang Yu would have eliminated him long ago.

But now, he could only calm the situation.

Shrugging his shoulders, Sikong Jing coldly replied, ”Justice will naturally be restored, but I will also make Ji Ming pay the price. My parents were almost beheaded by him, and the price he has paid so far is far from enough.”

Sikong Jing’s gaze was piercingly sharp, and he showed no fear even in the face of the Imperial Guard Commander.

Upon hearing this, Huang Yu’s eyes grew colder, and in a lowered voice, he asked, ”You killed Peng Likui, and you cut down the Seven Wolf Guards. Isn’t that enough?”

”Not enough. As long as Ji Ming is still standing, it is not enough,” Sikong Jing replied.

Huang Yu’s face showed fury at these words!

”Well, I’d like to see how you take down the Seventh Prince.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Huang Yu gestured sharply.

In an instant, atop the Imperial City, ”whoosh” after ”whoosh” of Golden Armored Soldiers appeared; they were all from the Imperial City Guard, each one drawing a bow and aiming an arrow straight at Sikong Jing and the seven hundred Absolute Night Wolf Guards.

Then, more Imperial Guards leapt down from the city walls, swiftly gathering into a force of a hundred thousand.

The terrifying presence made Sikong Jing’s side seem incredibly insignificant.

Still standing on one foot atop his sword, Huang Yu gazed down at Sikong Jing with an air of superiority, saying, ”Now, will you retreat or not?”

Behind him, Ji Ming’s eyes were shrouded with sinister energy, and he chuckled, ”Sikong Jing, you declined the chance of a life-and-death duel, and now you’d better scram obediently, or don’t blame us for being impolite.”

With the Imperial City Guard behind him, Ji Ming felt reinvigorated... of course, he also knew that Huang Yu wouldn’t behead Sikong Jing for his sake.

The best outcome right now would be for Sikong Jing to just scram.

At the same time, his gaze also fell upon the corpulent spy, and even if Sikong Jing withdrew, this informant had to be killed—there was absolutely no way to let this person live until Beigong Xianfeng arrived.

”Not scramming yet, and then obediently waiting at the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace for His Majesty to send troops to catch the spy?” among the onlookers erupted a barrage of roars; though they had retreated far, they still detested spies.

However, Sikong Jing just started to laugh, ”I, why should I retreat?”

His voice was not loud, but it resounded far and wide...

At that moment, a thunderous rumbling approached from afar, followed by a forceful female voice saying, ”Sikong Jing, why should you retreat?”

As soon as these words came out, everyone present was stunned, and then they saw a flood of warriors in black armor charging out from the streets, Ning Jingjing at their lead.

At this moment, Ning Jingjing and the 66th Army were not wearing masks, so they were the 66th Army, not the Dark Wing Camp.

”Sikong Jing, we haven’t arrived too late, have we?” Ning Jingjing asked.

With a faint smile, Sikong Jing calmly said, ”You’ve arrived just in time, General Ning; the task of capturing Ji Ming will be handed over to you. Your opponents will be... the Imperial City Guard.”

At these words, the entire scene was painted with disbelief; was a mere battalion from the Long Night Black Burning Army going to fight the Imperial City Guard?

Huang Yu’s expression darkened as he said, ”Stop this nonsense, Ning Jingjing, right? Step back.”

Clang!

Instead of heeding Huang Yu’s words, Ning Jingjing let her sword do the talking. She pointed her sword and spoke slowly, ”On my way here, I heard that I’m also accused of being a spy for the War Soul Dynasty. Commander Huang, are you asking me to step back?”

Everyone around them was startled; that’s right, the portly spy had just pointed out Ning Jingjing as a traitor, too.

Before the crowd could react, Ning Jingjing continued with a cold laugh and said, ”Today, with the sword in my hand, with the blades of the 66th Army, I shall tear those who frame us into pieces. Anyone who blocks me dies.”

As soon as her words fell, Ning Jingjing raised her sword high and commanded, ”66th Army, follow me and capture the betrayers!”

”Kill!”

The warriors of the 66th Army roared to the sky. Had it been before, they might have felt fear facing the Imperial City Guard, but the battle a month ago in the Court Hunting Ground had filled them with battle intent.

They were not only the 66th Army but also the Dark Wing Camp.

However, they couldn’t expose the Dark Wing Black Burning Sword just yet. The sword they would wield would be the Long Night Black Burning Sword, which may be slightly weaker in impact but matched in momentum.

And so, the 66th Army charged toward the Imperial City Guard.

”Damn it, are you really rebelling?” Huang Yu’s face turned livid, and he led his troops with a raised sword toward the 66th Army.

”Rebel? Commander Huang, that accusation is much more serious than framing me as a spy. I definitely can’t afford it,” Ning Jingjing retorted sharply, fearlessly saying, ”Gather swords, blast!”

Just like Sikong Jing had done in the Court Hunting Ground, the sword lights of all the warriors converged on her and fiercely blasted toward Huang Yu.

The latter was sent flying backward, yelling, ”Imperial Guard, suppress them!”

Ning Jingjing glanced reflexively toward Sikong Jing as the surging Imperial Guard approached.

She saw Sikong Jing make several gestures with his hands, and Ning Jingjing immediately understood. She then commanded, ”Split into five groups, and cut through.”

Instantly, the two hundred thousand warriors of the 66th Army divided into five groups of forty thousand each, in five different directions slicing into the Imperial Guard.

Suddenly, the powerful Imperial Guard was dispersed...

At that moment, Sikong Jing spoke coldly, ”Absolute Night Wolf Guard, follow me to strike!”

He knew very well that the 66th Army was unlikely to win against the Imperial City Guard because they were considerably weaker individually.

Moreover, the Imperial Guard kept receiving reinforcements...

So he had just used Huang Yu’s underestimation to command Ning Jingjing and the 66th Army, to scatter the unprepared Imperial Guard.

Then, with the Absolute Night Wolf Guards, he charged at Ji Ming.

Seven hundred men, led by Sikong Jing, roared as they slammed into the Imperial Guardsmen who were protecting Ji Ming but were still unstable.

Bang bang bang bang...

In an instant, the Imperial Guard was overthrown. Sikong Jing slapped Ji Ming away and then, seizing a long spear from an Imperial Guardsman, raced towards Ji Ming on his Black Steed.

Thud...

The spear pierced Ji Ming’s shoulder and, with a fierce jerk, lifted him high. Sikong Jing held him high on the spear and declared, ”Commander Huang, here’s Ji Ming!”

Everything was completed in a flash.

Sikong Jing’s precise judgement was chilling, and his speed terrifying.

By the time Huang Yu realized what had happened, Ji Ming was already impaled on Sikong Jing’s long spear, while Sikong Jing himself sat astride the Black Steed, sweeping his eyes coldly around.

Down the spear’s shaft, Ji Ming’s blood slid.
