Berserk God of War

Chapter 325: Chapter 325: Baili Que, Accepting the Mission

By the side, in the Task Hall, someone had, of course, noticed the task update.

”Damn, it increased to 6.4 million all at once, who even posted this task?”

”It must be a very powerful Inner Palace student, otherwise it wouldn’t be possible to keep adding points.”

A crowd of people imagined the task owner to be a very impressive Inner Palace student, yet they had no idea that the person who posted the task was Sikong Jing, who had just left.

”6.4 million is still too little!” Baili Que frowned and eventually accepted other tasks before leaving.

In Sikong Jing’s apprentice room, Lang Yisuo clearly hadn’t fully recovered so quickly.

So, Sikong Jing waited another day and only set out with Lang Yisuo to the third mountain path early the next morning.

This time it was the Cloud Dragon Mountain Path.

During this attempt, they did not encounter any students midway and completed the challenge very smoothly.

After settling that, Lang Yisuo returned to Sikong Jing’s apprentice room to continue his cultivation.

Similarly, Sikong Jing meditated in the room. After challenging the Cloud Dragon Mountain Path, he possessed a third Dragon Vein, and as he absorbed its Dragon Power, he saw new progress in the manipulation method of the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon’s demonic power.

When Sikong Jing stepped out of the room, he had completed the sixth movement of the Black Refining Dark Hook Claw and had reached the Second Level of Martial Body Realm.

As per Qin Heng’s instructions, he could now go to Drunk Dragon Mountain and become an Official Student directly.

But since Qin Heng hadn’t returned yet, Sikong Jing was in no hurry. Tomorrow was the day the auction would begin, and he planned to wait until the auction was over...

It was at this moment that Master Wen Hu suddenly arrived.

”Sikong Jing, someone has accepted your task, but they wish to meet you,”

”They say 6.4 million points is too few and want to negotiate other conditions with you face-to-face. Do you want to meet them?”

A flash of brilliance shot through Sikong Jing’s eyes, and he said without hesitation, ”Meet!”

After all, his task allowed for face-to-face negotiations.

Since the other party had accepted the task, he naturally wanted to meet them; maybe he could immediately gather the two types of medicine he needed.

However, when Sikong Jing met the task acceptor in a room within the inner hall of the Task Hall, he was stunned.

It was Baili Que again!

Meanwhile, Baili Que, who was waiting in the internal hall room, was also stunned. She stared and asked, ”You are the one who posted the task?”

At the doorway of the inner hall, Master Wen Hu asked dumbfoundedly, ”You know each other?”

After yesterday’s incident, Yu Yan had been called back by the teacher from Fire Dragon Mountain, and Master Wen Hu, busy with other matters, hadn’t followed up, so he was still unaware of Baili Que and Sikong Jing’s situation.

Since Yu Yan had left, Sikong Jing had to handle things personally.

What shocked Master Wen Hu even more was how Sikong Jing knew the Chief Inner Palace Disciple from Dark Dragon Mountain.

”Of course, we know each other, we’re old acquaintances.”

Baili Que snapped out of it, and a sinister smile spread across her lips as she turned to Master Wen Hu and said, ”Master Wen Hu, you can go ahead with your tasks. I will have a good talk with... Junior Brother Sikong.”

She still didn’t know Sikong Jing’s name, but she had heard his surname yesterday.

The corners of Master Wen Hu’s mouth twitched slightly, sensing Baili Que seemed to harbor ill intentions, but he dared not interfere with the Chief of Dark Dragon Mountain, nor did he dare to warn Sikong Jing, so he could only leave first.

As he departed, Master Wen Hu was utterly puzzled: ”Sikong Jing, how exactly did you provoke this witch?”

Ultimately, he didn’t dare stray too far and waited outside the room instead.

The doors of the inner hall room closed, and Baili Que sat down nonchalantly, scrutinizing Sikong Jing.

Sikong Jing then looked back at her, somewhat at a loss for words, as the situation was indeed quite coincidental.

However, it didn’t matter anymore. As long as Baili Que could produce two types of medicine, it was also the perfect opportunity to inform her about everything concerning the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon, which was a good thing, and it would save a lot of points for other uses.

Just as Sikong Jing was about to speak, Baili Que took the lead and said, ”You are a bit mysterious.”

”When I was inquiring about the task with the on-duty students, they all said that this task was managed by the new deacon Yu Yan, and even the other two student deacons were unaware of your existence, indicating an extremely high level of secrecy.”

”Ultimately, unable to find Yu Yan, I had to turn to Master Wen, the new mentor deacon.”

”And to my knowledge, both of them became deacons only recently; it wouldn’t be due to you, would it?”

Baili Que’s words sent a slight shiver through Sikong Jing’s mind, her sense of smell was indeed keen.

”Senior Sister Baili, let’s talk about the task instead,” Sikong Jing replied, preferring not to answer and skipping over the topic.

Baili Que didn’t pursue the question further. Sikong Jing was suddenly taken in by Tan Yue, so it was normal for him to be somewhat mysterious.

”Alright, let’s talk about the task.”

”I initially didn’t want to accept it because I don’t have the two types of medicine you need.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing’s eyes widened slightly—What’s the point in accepting if you don’t have them?

”But I know where to find the Thousand Cold Red Lotus Core. I can go and retrieve it...”

”However, currently, with my level of cultivation, I am not confident enough, so I can only accept the task first and need some points to accumulate up to 8.5 million.”

”Only by exchanging your Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon’s information will I be able to achieve a major breakthrough and then be confident.”

As she spoke, Baili Que gazed deeply at Sikong Jing and said, ”I just didn’t expect that you would be the one who posted the task.”

She had accepted other tasks yesterday and left.

But after completing them, she felt that achieving 8.5 million points through regular tasks would take too long. The Long Night Star Palace was also in a state of lockdown, so after much deliberation, she decided to come back and accept Sikong Jing’s task.

Across from her, Sikong Jing also quickly understood.

Baili Que needed points to exchange for the information about the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon that he held, aiming for a breakthrough to retrieve the Thousand Cold Red Lotus Core. This was why she wanted to meet the task publisher in advance and get the points upfront.

”This makes things easier now, no need to get points in advance.”

”You provide me with all the information about the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon, and I’ll get the Thousand Cold Red Lotus Core for you.”

Having said that, her expression was excited and her eyes feverishly locked onto Sikong Jing—it was like getting everything without any effort.

Sikong Jing took a deep breath and without hesitation said, ”Alright!”

Getting the Thousand Cold Red Lotus Core, there wouldn’t be any issue with the information about the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon.

For him, it was even just a minor matter.

Then, Sikong Jing began to narrate everything about the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon, including how it became demonized, and so on...

Listening, Baili Que’s expression was shaken, and she later asked, ”Can demon beasts really become demonized? Why have I never heard of it before?”

She had previously returned to Dark Dragon Mountain to check the archives, but had not found any relevant information.

And the dean of Dark Dragon Mountain had also gone with Vice Palace Master Qin Heng to fight with the top levels of Xingluo Palace, leaving her with no one to ask, thus making her wonder about the veracity of it all.

To this, Sikong Jing answered, ”Demon beasts becoming demonized is extremely rare, and even if they do become demonized, they are treated as a different species, like the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon is actually a Thunder Winged Dragon Snake.”

This was told to him by the creatures of the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison; demon beasts have rather simplistic thoughts, and demonized cases are very rare.

Even in the Long Night Empire, likely very few people are aware of it.
