Berserk God of War

Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Waiting to Be Executed

However, Sikong Jing remained fearless and spoke indifferently, ”Yan Shun, are you going to bully me again?”

In response, Yan Shun raised his head and puffed out his chest, smirking repeatedly.

”Yes, you little trash from Canglong Small Domain, if I want to crush you, I will. Besides, you’ve challenged me more than once.”

”Today, others might not die, but you must.”

”The others are soldiers of the Long Night Black Burning Army, but you are not; even if you die, the commander won’t be able to trace it.”

After speaking, Yan Shun suddenly took a step forward, extended a finger, and flicked out a stream of True Qi, aiming it fiercely at Sikong Jing.

Everyone’s eyes widened in shock as Yan Shun went from talking about killing to actually attempting it. But the gap in their realms was too vast, too immense. The onlookers lacked the strength to resist and could only watch helplessly as the Finger Power streaked toward Sikong Jing’s brow.

But Sikong Jing was still smiling, facing the oncoming Finger Light without so much as flinching.

Hum!

Just as the Finger Light was about to touch Sikong Jing, another Finger Light appeared out of nowhere and knocked it aside.

The two Finger Lights clashed in the hall, erupting into a loud collision noise.

Seeing his attack thwarted, Yan Shun flew into a rage, flinging his gaze around and bellowing, ”Who the hell dares to interfere with my killing?”

”I, Beigong Xianfeng!”

An elderly voice echoed solemnly from outside the doorway, as Beigong Xianfeng walked in with large strides, his face a ghastly pale blue.

Behind him, Niu Canmou’s legs trembled uncontrollably.

Yan Shun, meanwhile, was stunned into silence, completely dumbfounded.

The rage that had colored his face was now whitewashed with panic as he stuttered, ”C-commander, how did you come in?”

Slap!

Without uttering another word, Beigong Xianfeng gave Yan Shun a slap across the face, knocking him to the ground.

”If I hadn’t arrived, how would I have learned that you were scheming personal agendas, bullying others, and acting willfully?”

Beigong Xianfeng was on the verge of fainting with anger; what Yan Shun had done had poked at his most sensitive nerve.

To overlook and promote one or two individuals was something he might turn a blind eye to, but breaking the iron laws of the Black Burning Army was intolerable.

And Yan Shun dared to deceive behind his back, even though he clearly knew Beigong Xianfeng was just outside the city.

He planned to kill this young man and have Lan Zhuanghe lie to him. Such audacity and flagrant disrespect could not be tolerated.

Sitting on the ground, Yan Shun was in a state of shock, trembling all over with fear.

Yet soon enough, he pointed at Sikong Jing and cried out, ”Commander, I haven’t bullied anyone! This man is not a warrior of the Long Night Black Burning Army, and he dared to take part in castle sieging, so of course, I had to deal with him severely.”

He immediately found an excuse and revealed Sikong Jing’s identity.

Hearing this, Beigong Xianfeng’s gaze sharpened, and he instinctively looked at Sikong Jing, inquiring, ”You’re not from the Long Night Black Burning Army?”

Even though he had just heard a hint of it, his anger had clouded his attention.

The aura and capability that Sikong Jing had just displayed were clearly those of a battle-hardened individual and a rare talent. Beigong Xianfeng truly hadn’t expected that Sikong Jing was not from the Long Night Black Burning Army.

”Yes, Commander Yan said I wasn’t qualified to join the Long Night Black Burning Army, that I wasn’t worthy,” Sikong Jing replied with a shrug.

Upon hearing those words, Yan Shun shouted, ”Of course you’re not worthy, you...”

Slap!

Before he could finish, Beigong Xianfeng’s hand struck Yan Shun’s face again. Then he stared intently at Sikong Jing and pressed, ”You were originally eligible to join the Long Night Black Burning Army; was it Yan Shun who excluded you?”

Although Sikong Jing didn’t want to join at that time, given the current situation, he nodded without hesitation.

Moreover, Sikong Jing even lightly countered with a question, ”I’m from Canglong Domain. General Ning brought me here, and I believe joining the Long Night Black Burning Army was my first option, wasn’t it?”

Beigong Xianfeng, of course, knew this very well and nodded emphatically.

He then fiercely turned to Yan Shun and shouted, ”A young man who conquered five cities overnight, and you dare to say he’s not qualified to join the Long Night Black Burning Army... Yan Shun, you really do have some nerve.”

Such a talent was rejected by Yan Shun, causing the Beigong Xianfeng to be quite furious.

Yan Shun was dumbfounded, how had this become his fault? How was he supposed to know the guy could take down five cities?

”I now know why the Black Burning Army is getting weaker, it’s because of scum like you.”

As Beigong Xianfeng spoke, he fiercely kicked Yan Shun, and even after the kick, he wasn’t satisfied and strode forward, saying, ”And now you want to erase the achievements of the 99th Army, to give them to your Lan Zhuanghe?”

While speaking, he pointed at Lan Zhuanghe, who was at his last breath, but also terrified.

Thump...

Yan Shun hurriedly crawled up and knelt down, defending himself, ”No, Commander, I only wanted to kill this non-Long Night Black Burning Army member, I never intended to erase the achievements of the 99th Army, really.”

He had no choice but to admit it, killing Sikong Jing was at worst a minor offense.

But erasing the record of the 99th Army’s conquest of five cities to replace it with Lan Zhuanghe’s would be deadly.

Slap!

Another slap came down, and Beigong Xianfeng said with a cold face, ”Still lying to me, do you think I’m deaf? I heard everything clearly just now from outside, you wait for your execution!”

Hum!

Yan Shun’s head was buzzing, and he heavily sat down on the ground, then got up again and desperately kowtowed for mercy.

Meanwhile, Niu Canmou also knelt down, he was not exempt from his involvement either.

Beigong Xianfeng paid them no mind and turned to look at Sikong Jing, his gaze suddenly becoming gentle as he sized him up, ”You’re not bad, where is Ning Jingjing?”

At this point, a Deputy General stepped out and replied, ”Commander, General Ning’s family...”

Before the Deputy General could finish, Sikong Jing interrupted, ”General Ning is, of course, in the 99th Castle, acting as the chief commander.”

These words stunned everyone there, who stared incredulously at Sikong Jing.

Elder Wei was watching him closely, now was Sikong Jing’s chance to rapidly rise to power, and yet he did not claim the credit for himself and did not forget General Ning...

A gleam flashed in Beigong Xianfeng’s eyes, taking in everyone’s reaction around him.

But he did not expose the truth!

”Tell me, why did you do such a number on Lan Zhuanghe?” he said, pointing to Lan Zhuanghe who was close to death.

Sikong Jing had nothing to hide and directly spoke of Lan Zhuanghe’s deeds.

Instantly, a piercing coldness shone in Beigong Xianfeng’s eyes as he stared at Lan Zhuanghe and said, ”Deserves death.”

Sikong Jing quietly countered, ”Since he deserves death, may I ask if the Beigong Commander would allow me to handle him?”

Elder Wei and the two Deputy Generals almost cringed, Sikong Jing’s audacity was too great.

Beigong Xianfeng squinted his eyes as he evaluated Sikong Jing again and smiled, ”You can, but you have to be a member of the Long Night Black Burning Army first.”

At that remark, Elder Wei and the rest widened their eyes, the Commander was inviting Sikong Jing to join the Black Burning Army.

They all became excited at once.

Meanwhile, Beigong Xianfeng stood upright with a smile, waiting for Sikong Jing to kneel and thank him.

But, contrary to expectations, Sikong Jing shook his head and replied, ”I’m afraid that’s not possible, I’m only a Spirit Martial Root.”

After hearing this, Yan Shun couldn’t help but yell, ”Yes, Commander, he is just a piece of Spirit Martial Root trash, of course, he’s not worthy of joining the Black Burning Army, I did nothing wrong.”

Yet, Beigong Xianfeng’s gaze hardened, similar to the others, he surged towards Sikong Jing to check for himself.

”Spirit Martial Root, but... Innate Martial Scripture Realm Eighth Layer?”

As Beigong Xianfeng’s voice fell, Yan Shun and Niu Canmou were both flabbergasted. How was this possible?
