Chapter 235: Chapter 117: The Prophet’s Secret Report

Mr. Gu was furious, his estranged second son who had left home for over thirty years had aggravated him to the point of chest pain! Waking him up in the middle of the night was one thing, but steadfastly making over five hundred video call attempts... Did this brat forget he disowned him already?

”I have no son like you...” Leaving home for over thirty years without contacting him once, now suddenly making video calls, absolutely no good can come of it! The Gu family’s head was very angry, biting his teeth in hatred towards the older but still disheveled son on the video.

”I never said I was your son...” Gu Ningzhi didn’t care about what the other said at all, instead giving a wicked smile and pulling up the corner of his mouth, eyes that always seemed half-closed opened up to reveal pupils that shone like stars, ”Admiral Gu, I have something very important I need your help with!”

Gu Qidong snorted and sneered, ”As an Alliance Admiral, I do not indulge nor favor privately, my actions are fair and transparent, you want a backdoor? Sorry, no even a doghole is left for you! Since you fancy yourself capable enough to break away from the Gu family, why must you now—ah—”

Gu Ningzhi was stunned, watching his sarcastic father’s face get kicked. He heard three clanging noises, and the video image whirled around; even through the screen, he could almost feel the face pain.

Then came a high-pitched roar, very familiar. When did his always gentle mother turn into a berserk dinosaur?

”Little Zhi rarely contacts you once, who knows what trouble he encountered, you old geezer, what are you putting on airs for! Try being pretentious one more time, and believe me, you’ll be rolling out the window soon enough!” Indeed... Mother still has an imposing presence!

Gu Ningzhi silently broke into a cold sweat, then saw a shoulder-length short-haired woman appear in the video, her appearance seemingly only twenty-seven or twenty-eight, but in reality, she was over two hundred. Seeing her, Gu Ningzhi seemed to have words stuck in his throat, saying nothing, swallowing nothing, finally even shifting his gaze under her scrutiny, daring not to meet her eyes.

Having given birth to three sons, she had poured deep maternal love into each of them, yet every child chose to leave the Gu family. For Gu Ningzhi, leaving the cage of the Gu family felt like a vast expanse, but inside, there was always a lingering sense of guilt and self-reproach towards his mother.

”You can ignore what your father said just now, Little Zhi just consider he farted!” Mother’s eyes were somewhat reddened. Seeing her son whom she hadn’t met in over thirty years, her heart was much more complicated than her expression was. ”Go ahead, tell mom, did you encounter some trouble?”

Gu Ningzhi shook his head, then nodded, saying, ”I did encounter some trouble, I’m afraid I’ll need the old man to help.”

Gu Qidong facing his increasingly domineering wife, felt nothing but helplessness. The successive departure of their three sons seemed to have taken away his wife’s gentle demeanor too, making her actions increasingly aggressive, and life becoming tougher day by day.

Looking at his second son in the video, Gu Qidong couldn’t even convince himself to believe there was no longing or worries. ”The problem is very serious?”

”Someone intends to make a move against the students of Xilena First Affiliated School, the purpose... I’m afraid is to use them for live experiments.” When Gu Ningzhi said this, he initially thought his old man would erupt in anger, but who knew his eyes turned somewhat conflicted. Young Master Gu Er was puzzled and blinked, asking, ”What’s wrong, did the old man know of this long before?”

”In fact...” Gu Qidong said with a frown, ”I learned of this information more than three months ago.”

More than three months ago? Gu Ningzhi’s eyes widened in amazement. You should know, three months ago, those escapees were still committing misdeeds on other planets, and there were two or three stops before they could reach Qiming Star! When did his old man become so prophetic...

Gu Qidong continued, ”Not only did I get this information, but it also came with a distribution map of where they plan to act, where the focus of the attack will be, all clearly marked. Even... the information mentioned a few students who might be targeted... heh, this doesn’t look like a secret report, but rather an intentional prank.”

Gu Ningzhi’s expression turned slightly serious, feeling a sense of foreboding about the source of this ”prophetic” information.

When he looked at the original image sent by his old man, this feeling intensified, giving a sense of an impending storm. Glancing at the students ”predicted to be captured”, the names Qin Mo, Su Yanjing, Su Lu, and Xu Lei were prominently listed.

Gu Ningzhi’s eyes narrowed slightly, pondering the identity background of these students, mapping the relationship network in his mind, he gasped a cold breath... If things go as this ”information” predicted, at least five Admirals of the entire Alliance would be affected!
