Chapter 231: Chapter 115: Academy Celebration

Su Yanjing sensed Su Jiameng’s change in mood and added, ”But maybe for those two, dying here might be a better deal. Given the severity of their crimes, they’ll be looking at a minimum of life imprisonment, right...”

In the future interstellar world, various laws have been gradually perfected, and the penalties are very severe, executed strictly without leniency!

Trafficking or kidnapping babies or people, even committing the crime once is enough for a ten-year ironclad sentence! And during this period, there’s no ”good behavior reduction” ”benefit,” a full ten years, not a second less. If they commit crimes multiple times, life imprisonment is for sure!

Su Jiameng couldn’t figure out this person’s attitude, but she wasn’t worried. No one could trouble her over something that hadn’t happened.

She thanked them again and softly instructed Guan Changxi to take the child home. Seeing this, Su Lu quickly suggested, ”It might not be safe for you to return home like this, maybe there are accomplices watching. How about we accompany you home? Xiao Jing, what do you think?”

Su Jiameng was about to refuse when she heard the one called ”Xiao Jing” nod slightly, and curtly say, ”Okay!”

Although they said they would ”escort” Su Jiameng and her two little ones home, when they got on another hovering bus and inquired about the next stop’s name, Su Lu realized that the other party lived near the Xilena First Affiliated College! They were going in the same direction!

Su Yanjing returned to fiddling with crafting dolls, from getting on the bus to getting off. He never lifted his head. In contrast, the one called Su Lu was very enthusiastic, his clear eyes constantly glued to the baby in her arms, ”Does he have a name?”

Cautiously, he lifted his finger to touch Huaixi’s little face, startled by the unbelievably soft feel.

He just realized how tender and soft the little baby’s skin was, and the thought of such a cute baby being taken away made him angry. Then he praised himself thoroughly in his mind; he really was a great guy who stood up for justice.

”Su Huaixi, that’s the baby’s name. His younger brother’s called Su Huaifeng.” Su Jiameng briefly introduced; at that moment, the little baby seemed to wake up, slightly opening the eyes that were always closed, but didn’t keep them open for long.

”Eh... also surnamed Su, what a coincidence, I have the same surname as the baby.” Su Lu pointed at himself with a hint of surprise, ”I’m called Su Lu, ’Lu’ with the radical for ’king’ and ’road.’ Xiao Jing is Su Yanjing, the great-grandson of my big brother; I’m his grand-uncle! Although he always has that wooden face, he’s really a nice guy.”

”Mm, I can see that.” Su Jiameng smiled in agreement, her peripheral vision falling on Su Yanjing, quite agreeing with Su Lu’s words. Moreover, Su Yanjing was a skillful young man; the dolls he made were beautiful and exquisite!

Su Lu seemed like a chatterbox that couldn’t stay idle, asking quite a few questions. Su Jiameng answered the ones she could and avoided the ones she couldn’t. For a while, the atmosphere was rather warm, and before they knew it, the hover-bus had reached the stop.

After getting off, they weren’t going the same way anymore. Su Jiameng politely declined Su Lu’s offer to send her home, smiling as she said, ”My home is very close, right in the villa complex ahead, just a few steps away. I see you guys are Xilena First Affiliated School students; judging by the patterns on your sleeves, you should be in the Mecha Department, right? You should be in school by now, or you’ll miss class, won’t you?”

Su Lu mumbled, ”We’ve already skipped a day anyway, missing this last class doesn’t make a difference. But you’re right, Susu, if we don’t return now, our homeroom teacher will throw a fit, and then we won’t have enough credits to advance, and we’ll be doomed.”

She could only respond with a wry smile to Su Lu’s form of address. Earlier, Su Lu had mentioned that calling her ”Xiao Meng” felt uncomfortable because he had a little white dog that he loved to death named ”Xiao Meng.” To show respect, he’d avoid that name and call her ”Susu” instead.

Actually, Su Jiameng really wanted to retort that according to Su Lu’s logic, many people could be called ”Susu.” She just had the surname ”Su,” but her given name didn’t include the word ”Su.” Calling her ”Susu” always felt somewhat off!

That evening, with nothing else to do, Su Jiameng surfed the internet and finally figured out what felt off.

She accidentally discovered that ”Princess Fusu” had published another novel titled ”Ancient Sword Legend: Where is the Sword Spirit and Heart Today.” Princess Fusu also mentioned that the novel had already been planned for a single-player game adaptation, adding a touch of familiarity. She skimmed through the novel’s content, and vague memories surfaced... If she remembered correctly, there seemed to be a second part...
