Chapter 207: Chapter 103: Gu Xiaosan’s Concern

Although the feeling of playing a game was unpleasant, the reward of ten thousand Plane Points was very tempting, equivalent to a Bone Marrow Cleansing Pill! Compared to that, Clay Ore wasn’t as important. Su Jiameng understood the basic information about this task system and knew that the mission difficulty, like Mecha in reality, ranged from the lowest F to the highest 3S, with A-level already being quite high.

Higher mission levels meant richer rewards, naturally implying that the difficulty of completing the mission was also very high. Moreover, this was an unrestricted mission, which meant there were many completion standards. If the final completion rate was high, there would be additional bonuses.

Seeing this content, Su Jiameng pressed her lips together, contemplating how to perfect the task. Since it was a mission to guard Xilena First Affiliated School, two minimum objectives had to be met: protect students from being captured or killed, and thwart the opponent’s plot—ensure none of the escaped convicts involved in this task remained...

If these two points couldn’t be achieved, it would mean the mission wasn’t completed and might even be directly determined as a failure.

Not to mention, Su Jiameng didn’t want the Plane Points within reach to fly away; her original plan was to ensure no students got hurt and that no convict escaped. Hence, the mission content perfectly aligned with her intentions, allowing her to earn rewards for accomplishing it.

After these thoughts, Su Jiameng finally had time to check out the spoils of her transaction. She took out a piece of Clay Ore from her space grid, about the size of a baby’s fist, wrapped in a rock-like substance that showed a faint blue-green color.

”As expected, it’s unprocessed...” Su Jiameng mumbled. The two eggs, sensing the aura of the Clay Ore, immediately stopped their frolicking and rolled to her feet, trying hard to roll upward.

Su Jiameng felt as if she saw two chubby little babies pitifully squatting at her feet, their tearful eyes gazing at the Clay Ore in her hand as if they were children vying for candy. It amused her.

The attraction of Clay Ore for any Mind Power User was lethal, let alone for these two little ones, who couldn’t restrain their desires. They would act purely on instinct, naturally without any disguise. Su Jiameng chuckled lightly and gave each of them a gentle flick on the forehead, saying, ”Why the rush? This thing has to be processed before use; otherwise, it’s a waste.”

In her past life, Su Jiameng had never heard of anyone as wasteful as these two little ones, absorbing unprocessed Clay Ore violently—truly a squander of resources. As she pondered this, there was a knock at the door.

Su Jiameng frowned. Who would be knocking at this hour? Changxi? No, if he wanted to find her, he would probably contact her through the smart brain rather than knocking. With this thought, Su Jiameng placed the Clay Ore on the coffee table and got up to open the door.

”Uh... may I ask, what does Mr. Gu want with me?” It was quite late, and Su Jiameng felt a bit annoyed. Gu Ningxuan had been staying here for months and was always decent, never stepping onto the second floor, but now he was knocking at her room...

Smelling the intense sweat after rigorous exercise on him, she frowned imperceptibly, quite displeased.

When Gu Ningxuan saw it was Su Jiameng opening the door, she was in a loose robe, slouchy and exposing a delicate collarbone, with her cheeks showing a hint of embarrassment and surprise. ”Sorry, Miss Su, I wanted to know... is there something in your room that shouldn’t be here? I heard from the Changxi Housekeeper that it’s very dangerous, especially for ordinary people...”

Su Jiameng was momentarily stunned but then saw his gaze bypassing her to the coffee table in the room. She thought to herself, does he know about the Clay Ore too? Was it Changxi who told him, or perhaps something from that alley incident? ”I’ll put this thing away,” she said calmly, trying to close the door, but Gu Ningxuan blocked it with his hand. Her face turned cold instantly. ”What do you mean by this? If you know this thing is dangerous, you should hurry back to your room and stay out of it!”

Gu Ningxuan felt a bit at a loss facing her cold demeanor but insisted, ”This thing is so dangerous, how can you leave it here! Even if you store it properly, the cosmic radiation emitted by the ore will still harm the human body, don’t you know?”
