Chapter 201: Chapter 100: The True Face of the Escaped Prisoner

Looking at those slightly boastful cold words, Su Jiameng just felt a chill all over. According to the secret records of the research institute, the success of those nine people brought unparalleled glory and profit to the institute and also spurred their ambitions to erupt.

Unintentionally discovering the slumbering Adhesive Devouring Worm, and learning about the strength of its genes, they wanted to repeat the technique, creating another batch of prodigies to bring the entire Alliance into their pocket...

Unfortunately, if they had set their sights on other creatures, Su Jiameng might not have discovered it, and even if she had, she wouldn’t have been so ruthless. But now... she had to do something!

Digging through some data, the more Su Jiameng looked, the more her heart raced. When she got home and stepped on the floor, she still felt a tingling in her feet, the soles stiff and painfully cold, ”Changxi... I’m a bit tired, you take a rest first. I’ll find you again tomorrow.”

Closing the door, Su Jiameng sat on the bed somewhat dazed. The two egg-shaped companions attempting to show concern could not bring back her thoughts. Su Jiameng’s first life was just that of an ordinary older single woman, and the only thing worth boasting about was kicking her groom incapacitated at the wedding. In her second life, she only knew to fight and kill the Insect Race, acting as a sharp blade without caring for anything else...

But in this third life, supposed to be ordinary beyond ordinary, she inadvertently witnessed so many dark happenings.

Was it that her previous life was too simple, having the status of a Lieutenant General but lacking the corresponding experience, or was this world too complex? Lying in bed for a long time, it wasn’t until late at night that she finally figured it out.

The circumstances in her second life were too special, with the Insect Race always lurking and watching for a chance to attack. Everyone had to find any way possible to band together, prioritizing all resources and energy for battle. When survival was at stake, who had the extra energy for infighting?

Unless someone was specialized in scheming, anyone with a selfish heart would still prioritize peace, putting off personal grievances.

And now? There is peace indeed, but the problems spawned under this peace are not small. The open and covert infighting never stops, always wanting to suppress others, and this Human Alliance is far from as solid as it seems on the surface... Upon closer inspection, it’s entirely a mess! Leading to such egregious events of gambling with the entire Qiming Star for power and profit!

In short, the second life was not devoid of darkness, but there was no fertile soil for it; it couldn’t create havoc, and racial integrity took precedence over everything. The darkness of this life, however, has perfect soil, and its growth is inevitable.

Understanding these things, she breathed a sigh of relief. The most important thing now is to solve the research institute’s affair, and if there’s a chance, secretly eliminate all nine henchmen cultivated by the institute! The once combat-overpowered Mr. Su had such courage!

For the research institute to conduct such cruel and dangerous experiments, even opening doors conveniently, allowing Alliance Major General Li You to personally escort these items, shows how ruthless, incompetent, and unscrupulous these nine people are, and how powerful their forces within the Alliance!

Although this Human Alliance is not the Human Alliance Su Jiameng once swore her soul allegiance to, she absolutely will not allow anyone to tarnish the Alliance’s reputation or harm those ordinary commoners! Not a single one!

A heroic spirit surged in Su Jiameng’s heart, her eyes flashing with murderous intent, gradually fading after a long while, ”Though I say this, who exactly these nine people are, what position and power they wield within the Alliance, I have no idea... There’s no way to act.”

Moreover, if these nine people disguise too well, earning a good reputation and prestige, once they die one by one, during this transition period, when the Human Alliance is at its weakest, other interstellar species would not leave this delicious big cake uneaten.

So, in doing this, one must plan meticulously and contemplate thoroughly! Su Jiameng, having set a goal for herself, was exceptionally energetic and continued to review the data in hope of finding traces to identify the nine people.

However, after seeing certain recorded data, she was stunned for a moment, then a blazing rage erupted!

The two news items she had seen with Changxi, one about an escaped Star Thief, another about a prison break group. The former was nothing, but the latter’s records left her uneasy.

It turned out the so-called prison escapees were entirely fake, with one person deliberately covering up, creating attack incidents, rounding up captives, and conducting inhumane live experiments! Those experiments were all related to the Insect Race...
