Chapter 220: Chapter 109: Gu Ningzhi’s Cooperation Plan (Part 2)

This isn’t even the most bizarre part. Normally, even if that thing is killed, those lunatics can still extract effective genes from the remaining cells. But that informant said the gene fragments were shattered, and the remaining gene sequences have no research value.

What kind of strange force is capable of targeting genes in an attack! Gu Ningzhi dared to stand in front of Su Jiameng and bring up these topics, because he was prepared to face that strange force head-on.

”I don’t know why you destroyed that thing, nor do I know how you got the information from the research institute. I can choose to be selectively blind to these things, so you don’t have to worry about me digging deeper...” Gu Ningzhi suddenly grinned, revealing a set of teeth so white they almost reflected light. ”I’m just here to collaborate with you. I’m only interested in results, not the process.”

Su Jiameng slightly closed her eyes, suddenly curled her lips, and asked, ”What is the content of this collaboration? If it doesn’t interest me...”

”You will definitely be interested. If not, you wouldn’t have inexplicably destroyed that research institute...” Su Jiameng seemed to realize something, her eyes widening, as Gu Ningzhi regrettably said, ”Although you did it beautifully, the research institute has already secretly initiated plans to find new specimens. Destroying that thing at the research institute is just a temporary fix.”

Su Jiameng clenched her fists, a smoldering, suppressed flame of rage seemed to burn within her chest.

Seeing her reaction, several thoughts ran through Gu Ningzhi’s mind, clarifying things somewhat... Does this person know that dangerous thing well? Does she perhaps harbor a hatred he cannot comprehend, a hatred that compels her to kill!

”Then why are you telling me all this? You want me to help you completely solve the aftermath.” Su Jiameng scoffed, ”You managed to know the role I played in that incident, why don’t you handle it yourself and deal with those things...”

He said with a hint of regret, ”If things were really that simple, I wouldn’t risk my life appearing in front of you.”

Gu Ningzhi believed that the thing in the research institute had been taken care of, and the matter should be resolved completely, but that wasn’t the case.

The lunatics at the research institute secretly applied for resources to find new, stronger specimens.

As the saying goes, they won’t stop until they reach the Yellow River, and the research institute is determined to carry out this dangerous research to the end!

According to the information from the informant in the research institute, it’s difficult to completely kill that thing. Even if killed, useful genes can still be extracted from the corpse! To avoid exposing the informant, Gu Ningzhi instructed him to temporarily lay low and make no moves.

While Gu Ningzhi was worrying himself into a frenzy over this matter, he unexpectedly discovered that Su Jiameng was living in this hospital! Seems like he made the right decision coming here today. ”I can see, you seem to detest that thing to an extreme...”

Su Jiameng rolled her eyes privately, her feelings towards the Insect Race were not just extreme detestation, she wished for nothing less than their extinction!

”If you’re worried that cooperating with me will bring trouble, I can assure you, once this collaboration ends, I will personally destroy all information related to you, including the memory of it in my mind, not a shred will be leaked.” Gu Ningzhi lowered his voice, ”As long as you tell me how to completely kill those creatures, leave the rest to me.”

She dislikes scheming and deception, but that doesn’t mean she’s just a pretty face without brains! Gu Ningzhi is a stranger, why should she trust a stranger’s promise and assurance?

Besides, even if he promises, it’s useless. If the Insect Race was so easy to deal with, Su Jiameng wouldn’t have had to shed blood and tears in her past life, harboring a hatred for them to her very bones. ”You don’t have the capital for me to trust you. Why should I believe what you say?”

Gu Ningzhi frowned, having explained things so clearly, why wouldn’t she agree? Does she not trust his abilities, or is the power to kill that creature a secret she’s unwilling to disclose?

”Then what do you want?” Gu Ningzhi wanted to hear Su Jiameng’s own thoughts, ”What do I need to do for you to trust my sincerity, and believe that everything I’m saying is true?”

Su Jiameng closed her eyes briefly, feeling a bit unsettled internally, the only comfort coming from the baby with a milky scent in her arms, ”I want to know how you learned that thing was dangerous? What is your purpose in trying to stop this experiment? Are these actions solely yours, or is it the intention of the Gu Family? Asking for my help, is this your idea or someone else’s suggestion?”

”Even though I left the Gu Family, Gu Ningzhi is not incompetent. I have the capability to establish my own network.”

”While I was in school, a few students went missing continuously for a period, and I suspected something fishy about those disappearances. Following this lead, I discovered the existence of that research institute. I’ve been keeping an eye on its every move over the years...

”I’m not a soldier of the Alliance, just an ordinary drifter, yet I’m also a member of the Alliance, with Gu Family blood. I couldn’t just watch a crisis unfold and do nothing to stop it. These actions are entirely my own; the Gu Family knows nothing of it.” Gu Ningzhi answered Su Jiameng’s questions one by one, ”Now, do you agree to collaborate?”

”I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. Even if I agree to collaborate, and tell you how to kill those insects, it won’t work.” Su Jiameng said seriously, ”Because besides me, no one else can use it. However, if you agree to two things, I might actually collaborate with you once...” (To be continued.
