Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Koyl widened his eyes in surprise, raised his hand to look at the gemstone ring on his hand, and then turned to check the purple olivine embedded in the ring of his student.

Then he quickly glanced at the two apprentices standing behind Gilbert, who casually wore storage rings on their fingers.

Obviously, if they were of the same lineage, then he and Stein wouldn’t have two different gemstones.

This was specifically chosen for Gilbert.

He couldn’t help but slightly furrow his brow, thoughts racing through his mind, as he slowly spoke, ”The Hainarson clan isn’t that important, right?”

Koyl had already figured out why Gilbert straightforwardly told him the reason... That person never hides key information when cooperating with others.

Now, the other party is telling him that there’s likely an enemy of the Hainarson family in the Sia Tower, at worst, they should at least be old acquaintances.

But even if they are old acquaintances, it’s not a good thing... Otherwise, they wouldn’t remind Gilbert of their existence in such a way.

Koyl really didn’t expect that Gilbert, who most wanted peace, might be the one to encounter trouble first.

”What do you plan to do?” he couldn’t help but ask.

Then he quickly added, ”Regarding what we said earlier, I won’t regret it.”

He was the one who proposed collaboration first; if he backed out now over such uncertain matters... Koyl wasn’t stupid enough to believe Gilbert a broad-minded, good person.

Indeed, Gilbert wouldn’t trouble him at this moment, but Koyl doesn’t think he will definitely not encounter a crisis in the future where he desperately needs someone’s help.

Gilbert is the one he considers would, as long as their relationship reaches a certain degree, be willing to lend him a hand without harming Gilbert’s own interests.

In the mage’s world, having such a person is the greatest luck, right?

Compared to those so-called ’friends’, the cool but principled Gilbert truly embodies the word friend.

Of course, Koyl also knows, the other probably only sees him as an acquaintance who can exchange a couple of remarks... After all, their bottom lines are markedly different.

Ha~ If it were him, he definitely wouldn’t be displeased just by seeing the purple cat’s eye stone.

After all, that gemstone is worth more than three times the one in Koyl’s hand.

He suddenly ’hissed’: ”Hey~ I say, Gilbert.

Giving you this thing, isn’t it to shut you up?

You’ve just said it in public, isn’t it okay?”

It’s no secret that the Hainarson clan had to abandon their homes because they were coveted for their rich resources, and only survived with Gilbert risking everything.

People like Koyl, The Wise Ones, can naturally deduce they must have a sustainable resource... and it’s hidden deeply as a secret.

But, Koyl reckons most of the Magic Tower’s upper echelon knows about the Gold Green Gemstone Mine.

Surely they have to sell them!

Additionally, Koyl still remembers, in the Hainarson family’s mansion, there would always be various yellow spherical patterns appearing.

So overtly, the cat’s eye stones were likely originally their specialty.

It must be said, the Gold Green Gemstone Mine where cat’s eye stones appear holds substantial value, losing the support of an Archmage the Hainarson clan couldn’t hold on, it’s reasonable.

However, not to the extent that people would cross thousands of miles to hunt down the Hainarson family already within the region of the Tower of Despair.

But the purple cat’s eye stone has this value.

The Hainarson family surely kept this secret hidden in their hearts before fleeing... Estimably, apart from a few legitimate line members, others, especially those from outer circles, knew nothing.

Therefore, the other side would allow them to escape, only realizing in shock after mining that thing.

No wonder Gilbert pushed himself so hard.

If he didn’t succeed, the entire family might have been silenced.

”Speaking of which...” As he figured it out, Koyl suddenly chuckled, ”Someone in the Sia Tower probably has to thank your Hainarson clan!”

If they were silenced, the magic tower occupying the Hainarson family’s territory surely wouldn’t hand over the purple cat’s eye stone.

In their world, only natural gemstones wrapped in layers of rock have enough energy, and can even provide completely different energy properties due to a change in gemstone color.

And the purple cat’s eye stone greatly helps in purifying spiritual power.

Back then, estimably the Hainarson family didn’t dare make significant moves; even if they mined a bit, they’d directly hand it to the Archmage in the Defense Tower.

The person behind the magic tower manipulating Hainarson’s original territory in the Sia Tower... Koyl really couldn’t recall the name, after all, such puppets aren’t cared for by anyone... should also have noticed.

Koyl after pondering a circle, didn’t think the other side would make an enemy of Gilbert, the disciple of Archmage Ruth, over such a trivial matter.

”In this world, there isn’t baseless probing,” Hilbert coldly chuckled, ”Ha~

Only wonder if my performance satisfied the other side.

Though even if unsatisfactory, I don’t care... truly think I’d fear?

”True too,” Koyl didn’t think that much, ”No matter how strong, it’s just a Ninth Ring.”

Being more noticeable disciples like them, on the Sia Tower’s side, unless absolutely necessary, would certainly not be easily targeted.

The outsiders are watching!

-----------------

”Teacher.” A Sia Eight Rings in a black robe gently walked up to Mack, ”Only the outskirts mages following behind are left.”

The people Ruth brought, although ninety percent were his faction members, there were still a portion who were sent ahead by the other two factions.

Just like there would inevitably be some students here who would go along with the other two teams.

Ruth glanced lightly... It seems the intelligence of the Sia Tower is indeed comprehensive, so this Sia Eight Rings used this manner to inform them: all Inner Ring Mages have been registered, and there are no issues.

”Oliva and Aislin are indeed Ruth’s beloved students,” Rosero said with a smile, ”So many people, yet they can complete the registration so quickly and accurately.

So, shall we go in together?

To put everyone at ease, we’ve set aside part of the Inner Ring area for you to use. Other than that, we’ve done nothing.

After all, you have your airships to temporarily reside in... Build your own Magic Tower~

If there are any material needs, you can look for Pet.

She has the best and most comprehensive basic resources.”

Ruth turned and looked at the female mage clutching his arm, suddenly silent.

Of course, he knew what Pet was thinking.

Just now, when Ruth’s attention was drawn by Gilbert and Koyl, these few naturally noticed it too.

What Gilbert said, they probably heard more clearly than Ruth did.

Obviously, this probing claw reached out from the Colorful Clothes Sect.

”Perhaps, I need to buy some Cat’s Eye Stone?” he said with a gentle smile.

”Don’t worry, for Cat’s Eye Stone, Sia Tower has three large mines of different types, you can have any color you want.” Mack said coldly, ”Let bygones be bygones.

Your students are just your students.”

The fate of the Hainarson Clan is not worth mentioning to them.

In losing their backing, that was the inevitable outcome.

But the guy who tried to make a move before Gilbert showed hostility needs to be taught a lesson.

Mack looked at Pet: ”Why do people on your side always have fools jumping out themselves?”

”They are all fools...” Pet said irritably, ”I’ll handle it.”

Ruth glanced at her gently: It was clear if it truly was people on Pet’s side, they wouldn’t do this to embarrass her.

Of course, it’s also possible they are genuinely foolish enough to think Gilbert would endure it silently.

But then, who he was probing becomes uncertain.

Ruth slowly spoke: ”Probably, they think my relationship with my students isn’t that close~”

Although it’s also possible they aren’t well informed about the situation at the Tower of Dark Enigma... Gilbert’s temper is quick, never saving face for others. He would speak and avenge grievances immediately, as everyone knows.

But, Ruth wouldn’t be so foolish... those who think he’d be misled by such behavior are probably the real fools... Oh, so these few people earlier were talking about this kind of foolishness.

That’s good.

Ruth nearly thought, as soon as they flew into the gates of Sia Tower, they’d have to consider how to cover everything up silently after a murder.

-----------------

Hilbert glanced at the two junior mages leading them and the three teachers to the assigned side tower location.

One wore a white robe of the Fourth Ring. The other seemed to be Aislin’s attendant.

This woman, even with a different mind, still seems so clueless.

With only a few attendants, she still sends one to let Hilbert know this remote spot is her revenge.

Gilbert’s bottom line is high, but a hot-tempered person already stained with blood, how could he live without any guilt?

Moreover, there’s a Sia White Robe guide standing beside them.

If Hilbert puts up with this, in the future... hah~

A soft persimmon will always be pinched twice; this is a rule in any world.

Hilbert glanced at the two trembling junior mages... although the white-robed one was only pretending.

The White Faction are Glaysia’s exclusive lackeys, and it’s unknown whether ’Aislin’ instinctively chose her people, or... the opposite side actively cooperated with her.

But, ’Aislin’ herself is sure to have a soul deficiency which makes her seem brain deficient.

She still wants to stir trouble in Sia Tower! Isn’t this just putting herself on their plate to eat?

It’s already acknowledged.

Hilbert waved his hand... A vividly lifelike metal eagle with a wingspan of 3 meters rushed out from his storage ring, its two claws aiming at the two mages.
