Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1740: Chapter 317: Gaia’s Last Gamble

The time Hill spent waiting became not so long due to his fulfilling experiences in handicrafts.

Even though some of the informed Undead Tribe members, especially those management who needed to prepare countermeasures early, couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious… nevertheless, everyone was accustomed to this preview content appearing months before.

It’s not that they couldn’t wait, there’s nothing they could do even if they didn’t.

After all, to many people, this time is meant for both sides of the conflict to level up and get familiar with their skills.

When the final curtain rises, it will undoubtedly be continuous battles, with no chance for people to reorganize their skill cycle. How many military exploits they can seize by then depends solely on their accumulation during this time.

Hill watched on the big screen at the Proud Sky Alliance, seeing lots of videos on how they trained their combat levels against the Moon Clan… mainly how to timely counter the opponent’s big move or what level of defensive power is needed to survive half a life in such a splendid area attack spell.

The Priest Corps was also constantly training their prediction abilities… instantly replenishing health the second after the opponent’s big move lands.

Only the ‘Old Age Striking King’ was asked to leave the team; she and Cunlü were basically both part of the mobile unit.

This time, Cunlü was the busiest person in the Proud Sky Alliance, along with Hard Wind and his Knight Corps.

They traveled to numerous cities and islands, aiming to completely overshadow the reputation of Gaia, who hid in the Ismael Manor but sent her few remaining subordinates to create public opinion outside.

Snow Cloud Peak felt she was ensuring that Luciella’s incarnation on that side could successfully bear offspring… Even though Gaia had completely assimilated that body, it was once a human physique, and giving direct birth to a Divine Child was no easy feat.

It required Gaia to expend a large amount of Divine Power.

And none of the incarnations she lost previously could be recovered.

The only one she could use now was Ellie, who, because of some unfulfillable promises, only had half her usage rights left, where she could only be commanded and not directly borrowed.

Ellie seemed to have reached some agreement with her before choosing Resurrection.

Hill thought her choice wasn’t incomprehensible, and it was clear the girl seemed to have regained her senses after a series of blows… Her current goal was to stay in the world a few more days before entering the Styx and strive to build a stable enough foundation for her parents in the complex and ever-changing Danbolo Capital.

Since her Resurrection, she had never sought information about Hill, nor had she even made any exploratory inquiries.

Hill, although not very concerned about her, couldn’t help but hear some news due to the constant probing by the Undead Tribe.

Hill still had great faith in the Undead Tribe’s abilities in this area.

Now, even Rose had withdrawn the Mutated Silk Spiders from cities with over a thousand Undead, except for the Red Willow Oasis where she stayed. This was still the case even when the Undead Tribe’s primary target had shifted from the Mutated Silk Spiders to combating the Moon Clan.

Even though a temporary understanding had been reached, as long as killing Mutated Silk Spiders still earned military exploits, the Undead Tribe wouldn’t let go of any small red dot.

Rose had made minor efforts before, but she quickly realized that in the eyes of most Undead, partnering with her only meant dealing with the Proud Sky Alliance, and there was no question of a truce.

And in the view of the Proud Sky Alliance, the truce zone only existed in the Oasis. Even their own alliance members, when encountering Silk Spiders outside, were no different from bulls seeing a red cloth.

All of her rhetoric had become utterly valueless in such a situation.

The Undead Tribe never cared about her promises… Not even if she were willing to offer the Gold and Silver Jewelry she obtained in this world.

After all, when the Elves left this world, they hadn’t taken much.

Not every Elf had ample storage space, but they lived long enough.

However, for the Undead Tribe, Gold and Silver Jewelry not recognized by the Temporal Artifact held no significance.

Once Rose realized this, she completely gave up her struggle.

Among the controllers of the Temporal Artifact was Cronos, the Father of Elves, who might let her go in some situations, but would never openly display such behavior.

She could only choose to avoid the Undead Tribe.

—————–

At this time, Gaia also felt a sense of foreboding.

After all, even though only a small part of the Undead Tribe knew the truth, while the battles along the coast were clearly fierce and ferocious, the Moon Clan on Eosca’s side wasn’t incompetent, but their fighting spirit could only be maintained to a certain extent and would often collapse.

It was basically three days of passion followed by ten days of recovery in intermittent episodes.

But even so, despite the slow dwindling of the Undead Tribe in the desert oasis, a main force remained.

Gaia might not have known whether her true purpose would be discovered, but she was certainly aware that the Undead would not ignore Luciella’s side.

Hence, she realized she only had one chance.

Because, even if the Undead hadn’t figured out her real aim, they’d surely understand once Cronos was born.

However, Ellie’s presence was far too conspicuous. Sending the girl over would make the Undead realize Luciella’s importance even before the child’s birth.

At this point, she had to be grateful for the Eden Alliance.

When they realized they’d been completely abandoned by the native inhabitants of Basia City, who had no faith in their ability to defend it and were even willing to pin hopes on Ellie — already marked as an enemy’s subordinate — they possibly felt humiliated and went madly to join the battles at the seaside.

Moreover, with the commander-in-chief title tied to their Alliance Hierarch Ivan, and given her connections with them, she knew very well that the Undead Tribe was continuously summoning inland companions to join the seaside battles.

Although the relations within the Undead Tribe were complicated… Gaia was never sure if Black and White Path in the desert had discovered her goal, because Black and White Path and Eden had marked hostility.

This much she knew from Ellie.

Compared to Cain Valley’s Proud Sky Alliance main force, which would absolutely not assist Eden Alliance in controlling Basia City nearby, the distant Proud Sky Alliance Family bore a deep-seated grudge against Eden.

Hence, Black and White Path completely abstained from the seaside battles, choosing instead to stay in the desert awaiting the revitalization of the Moon Clan on Eosca’s side, which was understandable.

Gaia was very conflicted.

She really didn’t want to consider the worst scenario… like the Proud Sky Alliance also waiting for Cronos’s resurrection.

But she could sense the Undead Tribe’s familiarity with the Greek Gods to a significant extent.

Clearly, these people knew her well.

Otherwise, Eden’s response wouldn’t make her so comfortable in interactions.

Compared to Eden, the obviously more powerful Proud Sky Alliance, how could they not know about her once greatest desire?

Gaia felt confused… When William arrived at Aesces, he quickly banned the Undead Tribe from directly mentioning the Name of God of the God of Time and Space.

As Eden People, who hadn’t participated in the Time-space War, most were unaware of the God of Time and Space’s name… Of course, since Ivan was a lover of the Paintbrush, he knew, but he couldn’t utter it either.

Ivan dared to step up to the line, only to hint to Gaia about their familiarity with her, illustrating that the Undead Tribe had encountered Greek Gods in the past.

Although unsure why William refrained from punishing him and only warned him not to speak again, Ivan had no interest in facing divine punishment.

The divine retribution from Teraxil’s All Gods typically involved lightning and thunder, and hardly anyone was interested in experiencing that.

Thus, in her entanglement, Gaia resolved to make a final desperate move… blowing up the Ismael Manor altogether.

In a spectacular fiery display, she transferred all her Divine Power to Luciella, who was on the verge of giving birth.
