Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1739: Chapter 316: Little Bear’s Tailoring Life

”Sir, are you planning to make a cloak big enough to wrap around the three little bears?” List was in a daze for a few seconds and couldn’t help but ask.

This project is unimaginably huge!

Is Hill trying to make a hand-knitted bear?

”Ah~ Look, List.” Hill replied without even looking up, somewhat dismissively, ”No matter how urgent, humans take ten months of pregnancy, it’s a reality even the gods can’t change.

Gaia is in a hurry, but she wouldn’t dare take any labor-inducing medicine, right?

What if she was originally meant to give birth to Kloster, but ends up giving birth to Uranus instead!”

List felt that Hill was cursing Gaia.

And also taking a jab at William, who was surely watching.

After all, the origins of the great God of Time and Space are well-known ’secrets’ that everyone is aware of but doesn’t talk about, and the Tower Spirit, having a thorough understanding of past events, certainly wouldn’t be in the dark.

Wait a minute, he looked a bit confusedly at Hill: ”Sir, your certainty is a bit excessive.

Even if you suddenly decided to waste your energy to give Gaia and them a blessing, it wouldn’t necessarily...”

Hill raised his head and lightly arched an eyebrow: ”Do you know how many existences are currently paying attention to this deliberately staged reproduction of Greek myths?

Triton is fighting fiercely with Ambori over there, but... Scaret is clearly working half-heartedly, and he hasn’t shown much dissatisfaction.

He’s just continuously urging the Moon Clan, using more and more military exploit rewards to tempt them, of course.

Lady of Pain hates Eosca so much, yet she’s been unusually quiet lately.

Do you suppose some Sea God came specifically to witness his father’s birth ceremony?

Then Hermes, who originally had some contingencies left in this world, should be here as well.

Ha~ If he came, do you think Mount Olympus on Heavenly Mountain could remain uninformed?

Tsk, along with those eyes from Hell and the Abyss... Under the influence of so many powerful divine powers, what do you think is the likelihood of failure for this event?

Though fate has its own rules, it indeed can be influenced.”

”You seem to be focusing a lot on Hell lately.” List could understand Hill’s words, but he felt Hill was overestimating the importance of Hell... It’s normal for the Abyss to react, as Rose, after absorbing the divine nature she desired from two of Gaia’s incarnations, sacrificed them to the Abyssal Will.

”I’ve been keeping an eye on news from Toril through the Undead Tribe lately, just to pass time.” Hill spoke lightly, ”One thing that’s quite strange is that after Asmodier ascended to godhood by devouring the Lich Lord, there hasn’t been any word from him.

This is unusual.

After obtaining divinity, he should have sorted out the ninth layer of Hell with the appearance of the Divine Realm, but surprisingly, there’s been no activity in Hell.

The devils are still living quite freely.”

Then he would slowly reclaim the power of the upper layers... just like he did in original history... After devouring Azuth, Asmodier had swiftly dealt with the Duke of Hell harboring sinister intentions.

But his large-scale purge hasn’t started at all.

Then Hill slowly realized, the God of Prophecy, Safras, and the Deity of Mages, Azuth, are different.

That guy’s divinity is quite illusory, mainly owing to the fragments of the Tablets of Fate he possessed.

The result of Asmodier devouring him at most enables him to cause small ripples in the river of fate... which can hardly be compared with Azuth, who had a formidable faith backing and was closely related to Primordial Power.

This has prevented the Lord of Hell from reaching the heights he ought to have.

And the impact of this lies in that, since he isn’t yet that powerful, the Bottomless Abyss doesn’t regard him as a threat, unlike the original history where it joined hands with him to deal with the gods of order on Heavenly Mountain.

Yet, relying on those selfish and greedy Lords of Order parasitizing Heavenly Mountain, they have already reached the limits of destiny.

The inevitable grand purge they must face is coming, regardless.

That also means Asmodier still needs to devour something that would make him resonate more with Hell, something akin to Primordial Power.

And what’s more fitting than Gaia and Cronos from the Greek Gods?

The most important thing is, they might have divinity and divine power, but no foundation... stray dogs are disliked universally, otherwise they wouldn’t be called Wild Gods.

Though the three brothers of Zeus have different fates, they all seem to have momentarily reached the shore.

Only the line of Gaia is the easiest to exploit.

Hill turned his head to look at the sky and faintly smiled: ”List, I somehow have a hunch as to what Tai Ji might have said to Hermes to make him leave in sorrow and drop those fragments of fate everywhere.”

”Sir, are you suggesting that Heavenly Mountain might not be safe?” List, always the one who understands Hill the best, coupled with the quick computational power of the Intelligence Core, quickly grasped the key point in Hill’s words.

”When Zeus went to Heavenly Mountain at all costs, there’s no way he was unaware of the danger... After all, this time, he had a youngest son existing.” Hill laughed, ”Greek fate doesn’t account for other universes.

Therefore, he has to face a crisis of death for sure.

Zeus himself is very hypocritical, and after negotiating with those gods of order, he still plunged into Heavenly Mountain, probably to prepare for this inevitable catastrophe.

He wants to rely on millions of years of slumber to dodge this doomsday.”

List quickly connected the dots: ”So when Hermes went to Tai Ji, what he saw was... the disaster of Heavenly Mountain and the destruction of Mount Olympus?”

”The location of Mount Olympia was once successfully raided by the Abyssal Demon Lord,” Hill sneered with disdain, ”Otherwise, do you really think those Gods of Order are that benevolent?

They covet Mount Olympia because the eternal Power of Thunder on that mountain can harm demons, right?

That power doesn’t vanish even when Zeus slumbers; it’s an inherent attribute of Mount Olympia.”

”Ah~” List quietly exclaimed, ”That’s really quite something. If anything happens, they’re in for a tough time.”

Indeed!

Attacked by both the Demon Lord of the Bottomless Abyss and the Duke of Demons from the nine layers of hell, with only the scant deities on Mount Olympia... the remaining combat power likely still comprises Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Artemis, the Goddess of the Hunt... either sacrificed to the Abyssal Will or devoured by Asmodeus.

What a splendid and brilliant display of fireworks it would be!

Blasting from the bottom of Heavenly Mountain straight up to the residences of the Gods of Order on the top layer.

Whether Hermes or Tai Ji, they would inevitably see the true form within destiny.

No wonder Hermes, who has always seen through Zeus’s sickening hypocrisy but remained loyal, eventually left on his own.

He probably indeed wanted to seek out a sliver of hope, a path so tenuous that even Tai Ji dared not confirm, and count on some insignificant act to plant a small flower of hope for his God System.

Well, it’s not entirely a failure.

Hill blinked... the emergence of the God of Time and Space was indeed the origin of everything.

But it’s very likely that the appearance of the God of Time and Space in Teraxil was inevitable, though the scattering of Uranus’s Soul Shard was a random chance by someone.

If at that moment, the awakening power of the God of Time and Space wasn’t a Devil Sorcerer, then many things would undoubtedly have turned out differently.

The means used by the God of Nobility against him wouldn’t have been so straightforward and brutal.

Hill suddenly blinked.

Wouldn’t that mean he’s gone?

Does that mean he should thank Hermes for spreading new hope everywhere?

Forget it... not taking action against him next time is already Hill’s greatest act of mercy.

List hesitantly looked at him: ”Then, when do you plan on going home?”

He actually wanted to ask Hill if he really intended to make all three Bear Cloaks.

That is Earth Bear, although not fully grown, is still quite large.

How many strings of thread would one cloak need!

Hill rubbed the one he was wearing; although he hadn’t focused much, and there had been interruptions, it still took him half a month to make!

The bear’s size... After all, it requires the unique attribute of Olayseyth Steel and can’t rely on enlargement-type alchemy.

Won’t it take a few years?

Hill turned his head to look at him and waved a pale, pure hand: ”Don’t worry, this time I’ll use my real strength.”

He said seriously, ”I didn’t use much strength in Toril. How could something made to pass the time match what I truly desire?

Besides, even if everyone knows I’m strong, there’s still quite a difference between killing a dragon with one punch or a few punches.

I did hold back in Toril.

Here, it doesn’t matter; those who see me here already know what’s up.”

Including Aesces.

As beings of the Earth Attribute, both understand what the other is, with no need to hide.

-----------------

Time passed slowly yet swiftly as Hill weaved Olayseyth Steel Wire under his paw.

In some degree, Aesces and Terry seemed to have reached a tacit understanding... the battlefield was intense, and the coastal regions of Danboro were all engulfed in war.

But the main forces remain the Undead Tribe and the Moon Clan.

Of course, there are the regular nobles and military pushed forth with mutual understanding.

It seems not just Aesces, even Terry has started to wash away his patrons.

This truly made Hill slightly startled.

He understood Aesces’s random chaos, but Terry... forget it, Greek God, Greek God, bloodlines have never been central.

Hill quietly reminded himself not to be shocked by every little thing; the folks over in Greece are capable of anything.

Anyway, whether they fight to the death or not, the Undead are enjoying it, and he doesn’t lack things to do... he has already finished two cloaks!

No need to rush for the third one; it can surely be completed before everything ends.
