Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1598: Chapter 176: The Elder Sanda King Goes to Basia

”Tsk tsk tsk~tsk tsk tsk~” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ could not help but click his tongue repeatedly as he held the information in his hand, wearing a face of deep thought.

”What are you up to?” The suddenly summoned ’Old Age Striking King’ asked in a disgruntled tone, ”What’s all the tsking, huh?”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ couldn’t help but freeze, looking absurdly at the female priest, ”Are you unhappy that I called you back?”

”Duh!” ’Old Age Striking King’ shifted skillfully on the windowsill where she sat, switching one leg to bend in front of her chest, ”I was having so much fun!

Why did you call me back?

Who wants to stay here listening to a dog barking?”

”Now, now, a little kindness won’t hurt.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ said in a stiff tone, ”I asked you to keep an eye on Wenjian and Doomsday to make sure they don’t fight, not to take them all out.”

”I didn’t!” ’Old Age Striking King’ shouted in discontent, ”It’s just that they were too slow in intercepting the sea monsters, so I gave them a little lesson... uh, trained them a bit on their reaction speed!”

”Elder, take a look at how many unread messages I have on my tablet?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ held up his tablet, ”I’m pulling my hair out, and on top of that, I keep receiving complaints from those two families... even if it’s just a few hundred, it’s a heavy burden, you know?”

’Old Age Striking King’ curled her lips, ”And what can I do about it? I have so little fun these days! Blame it on them being such wimps.”

”So, do you want to go deliver goods to Ditte with Thunder?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ asked her gently, apparently not bothered by the previous harsh words.

”Hmm? Can I fight with Eden’s people?” ’Old Age Striking King’ tilted her head to look at the cunning smile on Snow Old Dog’s face, frowning.

But she disliked boredom more than she feared revenge from this dead dog.

Originally, she could still catch some slow-reacting sea monsters that failed to escape the Endless Vines defense area for fun... but it seemed those two families would rather join forces than accept her as a supervisor.

Tsk!

’Old Age Striking King’ suddenly realized why she had so confidently scolded ’Snow Cloud Peak’... the damn old dog must have known this outcome all along, which is why he made her the supervisor.

After her high-pressure tactics forced those two families to temporarily make peace, he dared to... not abandoning the mill... but burning bridges!

”Of course.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ narrowed his eyes slightly, ”In the past two days, not only have Thunder and their people been attacked more frequently, but even some of our smaller relief teams for disaster victims have been ambushed.

Thunder’s team suffered complete annihilation twice already.

Although they brought some knights with healing abilities, you should know, the Battlefield Family favors blood-draining over healing skills.

This kind of continuous healing method used to work in small group fights, but now that they send so many people, it’s difficult to handle.

If you tag along, well... it should at least make their red-named individuals number over a thousand, right?”

”You sure think highly of me.” ’Old Age Striking King’ said calmly, but she soon smiled brightly, ”No matter what you’re plotting, as long as I can have a good fight, I won’t hold it against you!

I’m going.”

’Lu Huayu’ stealthily entered the command center where ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was located only after her petite body excitedly hopped onto ’Battlefield Lightening’s’ oxen back.

This triangular fortress situated behind the Gourd Mouth city gate, although taller than the front walls, was actually used below for Undead Tribe meetings and battle accolades exchanges.

Apart from the 12 arched doorways, the walls were lined with plenty of exchanging machines.

In the middle, there was the revival point.

The Proud Sky Alliance’s usual style is all-or-nothing, so their revival points are always placed closest to the battlefield.

As for the possibly opening teleportation array in the future, they planned to spend some extra money to open two... internal members would directly be placed in the rear Big Belly City.

Visitors would be sent outside of Gourd Mouth, between the fortress on the riverbank and the newly built levee.

As for ’Snow Cloud Peak’s’ command center... as he frequently moved to the front lines, i.e., on the city wall to directly command, the top of the triangular fortress, higher than the city wall, was his territory.

During battle, his transparent window in front could, if needed, open into a long glass bridge, allowing him to rush directly onto the city wall.

’Lu Huayu’ had been hiding outside the fortress and only climbed up the spiral stairs after ’Old Age Striking King’ left.

”Do you really have to be so scared?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ asked puzzledly, ”Just do like me, and put your pain sensory system to the minimum before she comes in, okay?”

”Hmm...” ’Lu Huayu’ hesitated for a few seconds before asking, ”Aren’t you afraid of her... peculiar fondness for hitting people?”

”Even though she’s a bit domineering, she wouldn’t be that harsh on her own people.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ shrugged, ”She always just gives you a beating and leaves it at that.”

’Lu Huayu’ couldn’t help but roll his eyes, ”Sorry, to her, I’m not one of her own.”

”Ah... you see, you’ve been around me too long, I’ve almost forgotten the past.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ said with a straight face.

’Lu Huayu’ decided not to bother arguing with this old Shar-Pei dog... that wrinkly skin of his could layer down eight times, who could be thicker than him?

”You sent her to Basia, was it for, um, Ji Lanyuan?”

”Didn’t your people say that recently, Ellie has been quite fond of White Sail Dian Dian?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ responded vaguely, ”I want to know what that sea god’s interest in her really is for.”

”Hmm?” ’Lu Huayu’ felt a bit puzzled, ”What do you mean?”

Sitting on the oxen’s back, ’Old Age Striking King’ looked around in surprise... in a spot over 200 kilometers from Cain Valley, she found nothing but swarms of bugs in sight.

Especially the small peaks they had once climbed, even dry grasses were nowhere to be seen, with the black marks left by fires chronicling their fate.

”I know the environment is rough outside, but... has it come to this!

Does the Danboro Royal Family not intend to do anything?

Even these mountains so close to us have been burned down, what are they still fighting over?” ’Old Age Striking King’ asked with a hint of melancholy.

”How should I know? Didn’t such countries usually get overthrown by fed-up citizens?” Sitting in front of her, ’Battlefield Lightening’ didn’t quite understand her melancholy, ”No response so far... maybe William intends to give us a Doomsday DLC?”

’Old Age Striking King’ instantly put away her emotions, looking blankly at the armor in front of her, ”I’m really wasting my breath with you.”

”Then don’t talk about it! I wasn’t planning on discussing with you~” ’Battlefield Lightening’ suddenly waved his right hand vigorously, ”Hey? Why is Ditte greeting us from so far away?”

Although the knight and his Knight Corps were still nearly 10 kilometers away, being on high ground, they could discern from the distinct features who the approaching party was.

The distance from Cain Valley to Basia City is neither too far nor too close, a thousand kilometers. Even in this world, it’s considered neighborly.

But it’s not that close, for even Thunder’s powerful mount needs to gallop through the night to reach.

”Is something up in Basia City?” ’Old Age Striking King’ immediately stood on the oxen’s back, gripping Lightening’s helmet to look in that direction.

”If something were up, it would be unknown to the Undead Tribe.” ’Battlefield Lightening’ shook his head in confusion, ”I’ve never seen Old Dog not know something.”

”Maybe he knows but just didn’t tell us?” ’Old Age Striking King’ said irritably, ”Otherwise, why would he want me here today! He just loves to plot against me!”

”If Old Dog knows, that’s for the best!” ’Battlefield Lightening’ continued waving his hand downward, speaking earnestly, ”We just need to do our jobs.”

”I’m just, wasting, my breath with you!” ’Old Age Striking King’ repeated her grievance again.

”Hehe~ why think so much? Just hold on tight!” ’Battlefield Lightening’ patted his oxhead, then raised his hand to make a gesture, ”Prepare! Full army charge!”

”凸(艹皿艹)! Freaking! Lightening...” ’Old Age Striking King’s’ angry roar left an echo in the air... if she hadn’t quickly grabbed hold of ’Battlefield Lightening’s’ neck, she might have died under the ox’s hooves before even reaching Basia.
