Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1562: Chapter 140: The Truly Neutral Stelter Family

”Ah? Ah!” The hands of ’Battlefield Lightning’ restlessly lowered from the weapons, looking regretfully at those fortunate ones who successfully intercepted enemy ships thanks to a certain female priest’s immense power, ”She’s the Old Age Striking King, here we’re talking about the strongest warrior!”

Don’t look at me, although she’s a priest, she indeed counts as a battle professional.

Didn’t you see she’s not holding a magic wand or hammer, but rather the fist fighter’s gloves?

When calculating combat power, it’s counted with us knights, not the priests with her.”

”No, what I want to know isn’t this... I know about battle priests.” Ditte asked very seriously, ”The strongest you mentioned, is she the strongest among women, or the strongest among everyone?”

”Does fighting and killing distinguish between genders?” ’Battlefield Lightning’ said frankly, ”Who can fight the most, who kills the most is the strongest!

Unless when we battle we have to go easy because she’s a woman?

Heh~ anyway we could also choose not to acknowledge her...”

”If a female professional cannot forget her gender during combat and protect certain key parts from being attacked, then she better not be on the official battlefield.” ’Sui Chen’ interrupted ’Battlefield Lightning’, ”On your side, during a national battle, would you go soft because the opposite side sent a woman?”

”Definitely not.” Ditte chuckled, ”It’s not a friendly match, surviving is what’s most important.”

”That’s exactly it.” ’Sui Chen’ smiled, ”The distinction of gender only exists outside the battlefield.”

Ditte glanced at him, smiling faintly.

He somewhat understands the Undead Tribe, of course, he knew why ’Sui Chen’ stopped Lightning from continuing: The Undead Tribe actually tends to go easy on girls, but if it really comes to a fight, especially against mortal enemies, they dabbingly label the opposite as shemale, preventing others from accusing their inappropriate operations.

After all, even their clan leader could be a man underneath the skin.

But such actions can be done, not spoken of, especially not in front of an outsider like him.

’Sui Chen’ and ’Battlefield Lightning’ are obviously not from the same family, yet they always follow behind Lightning, probably for fear of his big mouth... and that occasional appearance of ’Lu Huayu,’ is also likely to guard against Lightning’s mouth.

But Ditte finds he rather liked the Undead Tribe’s commander... even knowing Lightning might err, he didn’t stop Lightning from making friends outside, only found a method to fill in the gaps.

So, he didn’t stop Lind from interacting with that obviously sly ’Lu Huayu’... those willing to help others have their limits, no matter how sly, otherwise even if the commander sent him, he could opt not to be so diligent.

If only judging by character, would nobles even have a social circle?

Of course, he still prefers Lightning, a true knight, but Ditte understood that true knights struggle to be great leaders... heroic sacrifice is often their most seen destination.

Lind couldn’t help but sigh: ”Ah! Is she really that strong? Clearly so adorable...”

Then he shivered all over.

Thunder’s battle ox angrily ’mooed,’ turning its head to glare at him... it was Thunder’s family’s grandchild ox, with a bit of a temper.

”Ah, sorry, sorry~” Lind hurriedly apologized in a small voice pulling on the ox’s hair, ”Kemel, I’ll go under the cliff of the Great Sage later to cut grass for you! Ensuring it’s all the tenderest tips!”

The Undead Knights couldn’t resist stifling laughs.

But they could very much relate to Lind’s sudden scare:

The adorable and pretty ’Old Age Striking King’ was dismantling the ship barehanded, after discovering the Moon Clan hidden in the corner, directly unleashed a combo: applied debuff, leapt in a flying kick, rode astride, and started punching.

The part was the midsection she found convenient.

A real man seeing that scene wouldn’t resist shivering all over.

The so-called reverie, was just one’s own fantasized tissue paper, once shredded into pieces, mostly would give up the urge to keep swallowing those fragments, having enough willpower to piece those fragments back into a colorful picture, possible but unlikely found in mere lustful folks.

Therefore, the ’Old Age Striking King’ clearly a charming female player, and famously wealthy... yet never had any amorous rumors, hardly surprising.

Even publicly arm-in-arm with some male player, people just question if underneath that skin is a girl.

”This lady truly is the strongest! Which family is she from? How come I’ve never seen her?” Ditte could hardly avert his gaze.

Of course, he wasn’t having any other thoughts, Ditte always had self-awareness, and wouldn’t think he’d fall in love at first sight just from admiration, but as the head of a knight corps, he’s genuinely filled with longing for the ’Old Age Striking King’... she’s assaulting while simultaneously helping other undead warriors within her sight recover health!

The timing was managed excellently, hand raised to heal, hand fell with a scream.

As a man, maybe somewhat chills, but as a commander, Ditte envies having such healers on a team!

”Black Rose.” ’Lu Huayu’ appeared in the crowd sometime, said with an amused smile, ”In the previous world, the Old Age Striking King held a high status, thus she only arrived today.”

Ditte was slightly taken aback, turned to look at him: ”Black Rose?”

”Ah...” ’Lu Huayu’ tilted his head and chuckled, ”Seems you know, Miss Ellie seemed especially attentive to a lady from the Black Rose Family because of certain words?

The commander here investigated after Miss Ellie’s unexpected appearance early morning... although specifics aren’t clear, some reason was somewhat known.

No matter what, Cunlü is married when Hill encountered her, she was married.

Moreover, a loving relationship.

Though among your nobles possibly some incredible tacit understanding between couples, over there, fidelity between couples is quite steadfast.

Otherwise, they definitely wouldn’t marry.

Divorce is much harder than widowhood.”

’Lu Huayu’ said with a pensive look.

’Battlefield Lightning’ suddenly burst into laughter, immediately smacked hard on the back by the side’s ’Sui Chen’, somewhat embarrassed halted laughter.

Ditte reckoned ’Lu Huayu’ was likely one of the divorcees.

He could understand the undead’s sentiment, after all, in their Danboro, mostly resolved such issues through widowhood.

But now what surprises him: ”Does the Great Sage Belfran know too? Then why is he treating her so well?”

”Hmm?” ’Lu Huayu’ said troubledly, ”Hill always maintains kindness toward others, he treats Old Age Striking King well too, maybe even better... Old Age can freely visit Hill’s Magic Tower anytime!”

’Battlefield Lightning’ couldn’t help but tilt his head, full of unsaid expression, then heavily suppressed by ’Sui Chen’.

Ditte glanced lightly at his friend, knowing perhaps other matters, but not suitable for him as an outsider to know.

However, since the undead said so, then Hill and that lady called ’Cunlü’ perhaps had no connection to Ellie’s own fantasies at all.

Moreover, who wouldn’t suddenly find a lady cute and pretty?

Just now wasn’t he engrossed in looking at the ’Old Age Striking King’?

Does that suggest he’s taken a liking to the other?

He pursed his lips, knowing some resentment led him to shift blame to that Great Sage and the undead... but if even supposed affection was a mere illusion, then, Ellie’s choice could only stem from her selfishness.

Should have realized already, right?

Ditte chuckled, the so-called missteps are never for others, only for oneself.

Whether or not the undead specifically came to tell him, Ditte knows after returning he must clarify with his parents, and with Butler Ted and his wife.

Though they decisively abandoned Ellie, how wouldn’t it sting?

Clearly, Ellie had always been so smart, kind, and passionate, yet suddenly turned into this... as family, amidst heartbreak, they’d surely seek a reason to prove Ellie like this wasn’t without cause.

Not her fault, or, not entirely her fault.

Ditte sometimes feels those transforming Ellie into her current self don’t want Ellie herself, but to neutralize their family altogether.

Count Stelter hasn’t mentioned making good ties with the undead these days, even repeatedly urging him to stay away from the battlefield.

’Lu Huayu’ quietly observed Ditte and Lind.

Found that Old Dog judged again correctly... compared to Ditte, Lind was the one who’d join hands with the Undead Tribe against Ellie.

Ditte truly is more upright and reliable, but his sense of responsibility and family belonging ensures he ultra-avoid any outrageous act... especially under Stelter Family’s inevitable surface cordiality and interior discord with the Undead Tribe.

Resentment, huh!

Such things he’s too familiar with.

Whichever family’s foolish child errs, isn’t it the outsider’s fault?

Even if Hill is truly innocent, even if Cunlü faces catastrophic misfortune, yet... those lacking ability for resentment will naturally stay away.
